00:00Here's the situation. The client has twisted nails and a strong desire, so she got a decorative, long-lasting coating.
00:06Today, we'll use a one-phase product, and I'll show you what its actual thickness should be.
00:11But for now, let's do the prep work.
00:13By the way, what's under her middle fingernails isn't dirt, it's concrete. She's renovating her home by herself.
00:20We'll start by completely removing the length of the free edge.
00:23As always, I'm using straight-cutting nippers from Nippon Nippers for this work.
00:27I'm making a straight cut and showing that the nails on the thumb are quite thick.
00:33So, they're dense and tend to curl and dig into the skin, which is quite uncomfortable.
00:38And here, under the corners, something has built up. I'll use a special foam for this.
00:42I have one from Domex. This foam will make it easy and comfortable to remove all the build-up under
00:48the nail.
00:49For this, I use a special safe curette that definitely won't scratch anyone.
00:53Everything will go as comfortably as possible.
00:55It turned out that under the nail, there was some packing material that had been forgotten for three weeks,
00:59and of course, there are also some remnants of biological matter, which is generally normal.
01:03As you can see, if you forget packing material under your nails, basically nothing serious will happen.
01:08Yes, some dirt accumulated, we removed it, and everything is fine.
01:11Next, using the same curette, I carefully clean out all the side grooves and make a plan of action for
01:17myself.
01:18I also want to draw your attention to the fact that there is a tendency for periungual and subungual calluses
01:23here.
01:23This happens because the edges of the nail plates rub very strongly against the skin,
01:29and the skin, of course, responds with these kinds of callous formations.
01:33And this condition is exactly a sign that the nails are uncomfortable.
01:37They are cramped, and something is constantly pressing and rubbing against them.
01:42Next, I will use a pusher.
01:43My favorite type of pusher is the one that has an anatomically shaped spatula on one side and a straight
01:48part like this on the other side.
01:50I go back to the nail fold and use tweezers to remove another piece of periungual callus.
01:55For treatment, I will use foot talcum powder.
01:58I love it because it has a very pleasant menthol scent.
02:01And for the actual treatment, I will use diamond bits.
02:05Here I have a natural diamond bit with a red band.
02:07And as always, the Dr. Alex machine.
02:10I have the SP-130 model in my hands.
02:13This model has a lightweight handle and the highest RPM.
02:16It's most often used in pedicures and foot care.
02:19But it's also perfect for working with hands.
02:22I work at a low speed.
02:24Here it's approximately 10 to 12,000 RPM.
02:28The diamond bit has a soft abrasive, and I'm using very gentle touches.
02:32The client's skin is quite specific.
02:34It's a bit loose and slightly rubbery.
02:36That's why I always use talc and no pressure at all.
02:40I change the bit and take everyone's favorite flame-shaped one with a red band.
02:44And this is probably the most popular bit of all.
02:47With it, I work on the hard-to-reach areas.
02:50And don't forget that when working with any diamond bits, you need to avoid putting pressure on the nail plate
02:55itself.
02:56Using the same straight-cutting nippers that I used at the beginning,
02:59I carefully correct the corners.
03:01And again, I remove a piece of the sub-ungual callus.
03:04There will be quite a few of them here.
03:05It's important to remember that you should never pull out this kind of callus,
03:10but you can gently lift it.
03:11I hardly do any cuticle treatment itself.
03:14The only thing is, with the nippers, I'll just slightly remove the little details
03:18that would clearly interfere with the aesthetic appearance.
03:21An antiseptic with astringent and moisturizing properties will help me finish the toe treatment.
03:26I double-check my work, as always, with a corette and clean everything to make sure it's ready.
03:32Because next, we'll be applying the coating.
03:35If the toes are close together, I recommend using separators.
03:38I have these funny ones.
03:39Please, I beg you, don't ask me for a link.
03:41I order them somewhere on AliExpress.
03:44For the coating, we'll be using a one-step gel polish.
03:47I have a whole palette.
03:48These are colors from Z-Color.
03:49They have a wide selection of shades specifically in the one-step system.
03:53So we don't need a base or a top coat.
03:55And by the way, they hold their shine really well after curing and degreasing.
03:59We chose the sixth shade, which is a bright orange color.
04:02The bottles are small, and you can buy the whole collection at once.
04:06I'm showing on the glove that this one-step gel polish stays soft after curing and doesn't shrink.
04:12And that's exactly what we need if we're working with nails that are prone to becoming ingrown.
04:16But it's important to remember that even though this is a one-step product,
04:19you definitely shouldn't wear the coating for too long.
04:21And to apply it evenly, I use a palette.
04:23I put the gel polish there and use a synthetic brush for the application.
04:27I have a flat one like this.
04:29I dip the brush a little into the color and show you the application technique.
04:33I use the brush to create the perimeter.
04:35I didn't apply any under layer to the bare nail.
04:38I apply it in a super thin, semi-transparent layer.
04:41Then I take the brush from the bottle and apply our gel polish.
04:44This way, I created the boundaries for applying my color, and it doesn't spread anywhere.
04:49I cured everything thoroughly, just in case, for two minutes.
04:54I shape the free edge and apply moisturizing oil.
04:57I use the dry molecular oil from Domix.
04:59Just a couple of drops and I massage it in.
05:02And now I would like to show you the thickness of the one-step coating.
05:06For this, I'm including a macro shot and also adding a ruler for scale.
05:10Here you can clearly see that the one-step coating is applied in a super thin layer and absolutely
05:16with proper application it won't harm your client's nails.
