00:44But now I'll show you what happened after just three manicures.
00:47I'll show you how I work on them.
00:49And, for example, she came back for her second visit.
00:52So here we had a clear polish applied and now I'm going to do her manicure.
00:58First, I'll use an antiseptic, as always, from the brand Domex and then we'll start working on the cuticle.
01:05Actually, in this whole manicure, the most important thing is working with the cuticle.
01:09And it's going to be, oh, quite challenging, especially during the third and last visit, which will also be shown
01:14in this video.
01:16I want to say that even this cuticle surprised me.
01:18In the meantime, let's take a look at the dents on our thumbs.
01:22We can see that the lanuli are just absolutely huge.
01:26This tells us that the person definitely picked at something here, even if they say they didn't.
01:32Here's a little life hack.
01:34Pay attention, for example, when you're talking to your clients who are potential pickers.
01:38Just watch how they behave in everyday life.
01:42And usually these people do things like this.
01:45They might fidget with something when they're trying to explain something to you.
01:49It's a pretty obvious sign.
01:51It's a sign of uncontrolled, self-destructive behavior.
01:54That's what I call it.
01:55Correct me if there are any medical scientists here.
01:58And let's continue doing our manicure.
02:00And now I'm going to use powder.
02:03This is manicure talc from the brand Domex.
02:05It's absolutely necessary.
02:08Especially in cases when the client uses oils and creams intensively.

02:18Back then I think it was a bottle of oil with grapeseed.

02:27Because I told her that from now on, we apply oil to these nails constantly, when in doubt.

02:34And of course the result didn't take long to show.
02:37Because by the second visit we could already see that her nails looked better.
02:41But obviously the nail plate itself won't recover.
02:43It can only grow out.
02:45And our task is to stimulate its growth.
02:48In this case, simple regular oil with a good formula will be a great helper for us.
02:54Of course, I'll be doing the treatment using drill bits.
02:57And here I'm showing you the loaf shaped bit.
02:59Which looks like a loaf of bread.
03:01You know, a sliced loaf.
03:02The bit is from K-Mais or Kazan factory.

03:08I want to say first of all guys, don't be fooled.

03:57And I'll barely touch the middle.
03:59And I want to say right away that it's pretty easy to overfile nails like these.
04:03And I'll show you that.
04:05I'm not ashamed or afraid to talk about it.
04:07Because when a client's nails are picked at, everything is actually different there compared
04:12to what happens with a normal healthy cuticle.
04:16But we're just starting our big and long session.
04:18So everything is still ahead.
04:20Everything will definitely turn out well.

04:24So what's happening here?
04:26I'm cleaning up the thumb.
04:28And my task is to not touch the middle right in the center of the cuticle at all.
04:33Because there she picks at that area herself.
04:35And since the lanula is very exposed, it's really huge, almost half the nail, it means
04:41that the growth area there is very, very soft.
04:44I just lightly polished it with the drill, barely touching it.
04:48But I only applied pressure to the skin, never to the nails.
04:52But the problem with such nails is that when you let the cuticle grow, meaning you don't
04:57pick at it, it can become very tough.
05:01The petrygium can become tough because these nails have previously been subjected to a lot
05:06of trauma.
05:07It's important to first explain to the client what we're doing now.
05:11The manicure won't be deep, super Instagram worthy or perfectly clean.
05:15Our goal is different.
05:17Well, let's say to calm our skin and train it differently.
05:21That is, to get it used to less traumatic manicures and to explain to the client that
05:26cuticle growth is absolutely normal.
05:29It's not an abnormality.
05:31And I was so surprised when, on the third visit, I saw what the cuticle was really like.
05:37Honestly, I was just completely shocked.
05:40Even I didn't expect that.
05:42Well, while I'm finishing up, I want to say that I'm using the Dr. Alex SP100, the 30th
05:47model.
05:48Nothing changes.
05:49Everything is stable and standard, just like always in my life.
05:52And I can say the same about my cutting tool.
05:54Right now, I'm using Nippon Nippers S04J cuticle scissors.
05:58I feel like if you woke me up in the middle of the night, I could tell you exactly which
06:02scissors I use.
06:03This is one of those few tools that I remember by heart.
06:07And what I want to say about this cuticle.
06:09Well, obviously, we cut it with scissors.
06:11I left a couple of fingers here for you to look at.
06:14A couple of fingers.
06:15And this cuticle, at this moment, it really reminded me of that difficult one, which is
06:20usually called a double.
06:22Write in the comments if you've ever come across a double cuticle, where you cut one
06:25off and then there's another one right there.
06:28But then I thought that maybe I hadn't opened the pocket enough and I decided to leave these
06:33thoughts for next time because it's still too early to draw any conclusions right now.
06:38But I noticed that the cuticle is actually quite thick.
06:42I mean, it's really plump, like a nice little sausage.
06:45Just take a look.
06:46Look how much I'm cutting off already on the second visit.
06:49Even though during the first visit there was nothing to cut at all, I just polished what
06:53was there.
06:54Well, I just trimmed off some little hangnails and everything looked as if there was no cuticle
06:58at all.
06:59It turned out the girl was bothered by how much skin was growing, thinking it looked unattractive,
07:04but it's only unattractive if not cared for.
07:07And what I especially like about this case, what makes me really proud of it, is that it's
07:13a unique moment when the client actually listened to you, when the client understood you, meaning
07:17they understood what you wanted from them.
07:20And what I always want from people like that is just one thing, for them to regularly apply
07:24oil and not do anything else to their hands.
07:27Just so you understand the level of responsibility this girl has, she even wrote to the administrators
07:32and asked them to ask me if she could file or trim her nails, because the length was
07:36bothering her.
07:38She took my words so literally, even to that extent.
07:41Of course I smiled, but then I told her that of course she could.
07:44In fact she should, because I don't see any point in trying to save these thin nails.
07:48By the way, here we continue working with the drill bits.
07:51That is, after trimming there was still some cuticle left and I decided not to cut it all
07:56the way, right to the very end.
07:58So as not to cause even more damage to this skin, but rather just to gently buff it using
08:03an e-file technique.
08:05And I want to say that, in general, I managed to do it, but at that time the cuticle was
08:12already starting to look a little bit rubbery.
08:14That is, this is the type of skin that can be filed down of course, but it's just a bit
08:19more difficult to file.
08:20These are really important points that I want to draw your attention to, because soon we'll
08:25be revealing this universal mystery.
08:27What exactly is this scary cuticle?
08:30Actually, no cuticle is really super scary.
08:33You can work with any of them.
08:35It's just that in this case you'll have to work longer and it will be much, much harder
08:40than with a more or less standard one.
08:43For example, compared to my cuticle, which is just thin and sticks down in an annoying
08:46way.
08:47So here is our result after the first treatment.
08:50I'm applying antiseptic again, removing all the dust, and of course, not without a bit
08:55of perfectionism.
08:56I trimmed a little more, just a small piece.
08:59When you apply the antiseptic, you can always see that you need to even it out a little more.
09:04And after that, we apply a regular simple treatment polish from Domex.
09:08I've been working with this polish for quite a while, basically since the line first came
09:12out.
09:13Every time, I see how delighted my clients are.
09:15And this girl actually said, wow, I'm ready to use only this polish.
09:18I asked her why.
09:20She said, well, because it didn't go anywhere for a whole month.
09:23Now I'll show you how her nails looked when she came back.
09:26And honestly, I don't know how they achieved such an effect.
09:29Usually, clear polish also peels off like a film and chips away.
09:33But in this case, besides being applied quickly and lasting a long time, it also dries, I don't
09:40know, maybe in two minutes at most.
09:42I mean, really, really fast.
09:43So by the time I finish applying it, close the bottle, go get the oil.
09:48And have a little talk explaining how to use the oil.
09:52The polish is already dry.
09:54That's really, really cool.
09:56Major respect for that.
09:58And now it's dry.
09:59And we're already applying our oil, which she also uses in her home care routine.
10:04And I can definitely tell you by looking at her cuticle, she 100% uses it.
10:08She's already gone through two bottles.
10:09She used up two bottles, and I gave her a third one, just to be sure.
10:14So she has developed a wonderful new habit.
10:17That's exactly how it should be, because destructive habits like picking, tearing, and so on should
10:23be replaced.
10:25So we settled on this result.
10:27Here I'm applying it, also showing how to rub the oil in.
10:31If there's any extra, you can just spread it farther up, and that you should keep the
10:36oil on your nightstand, for example.
10:39And after that, I send her on her way and say, we'll take a break for about, well, three
10:44weeks, maybe four, or even two.
10:47The most important thing is that you need to explain to the picker and the biter that
10:51they should come back only when it becomes unbearable.
10:54That is, when the cuticle starts to irritate and annoy you, and you have an overwhelming
10:58urge to tear it off, snip it off with nippers, or something like that.
11:03This is a very important point.
11:04You need to tell people that you are ready to see them when their nerves start acting
11:08up.
11:08Here is our result.

11:11Now, I'll show you how she looked when she came to me on February 8th.

11:19Well, first of all, we have the length of the free edge, which means she didn't pick
11:23at anything there.
11:25Secondly, look at how her nails have changed and what her cuticle looks like now.
11:30Huge, fleshy, and of course the real pride will be the thumbs, but first antiseptic.
11:34She complained a little that dirt accumulates under her nails along the sidewalls, and she
11:38can't clean it out.
11:39And yes, that kind of dirt does happen.
11:42There's nothing wrong with that, let alone anything criminal, because sometimes when
11:47you're cooking something simple like beets or carrots, something like that can stain
11:51the skin.
11:52So, let's see how to work with this kind of stubborn stuck cuticle.
11:57I'll actually be using both a pusher and an orange stick.
12:00On this finger, I managed with the pusher, and I always choose the pusher because it won't
12:06tear the cuticle.
12:07It's not that sharp, and it won't leave a nick.
12:11But that's my choice.
12:12I know many people won't agree with me, but still, I choose the pusher to work around the
12:17sidewalls because this kind of cuticle will also tear.
12:20It's stretched too tightly over the nail.
12:23Look how much of it has grown here.
12:25And with this kind of skin, it's better not to use the drill bits right away.
12:29That means you need to be very careful using many approaches and techniques.
12:33So, you see how many times I have to go over the cuticle, sometimes with one side of the
12:38pusher, sometimes with the other, kind of stretching, massaging, and smoothing the cuticle
12:43a bit so it starts to move back.
12:45I chose the middle finger to work on because it was the most difficult one.
12:50The pterygium there was very tough.
12:52It just wouldn't budge at all.
12:54It was just some kind of unremovable cuticle, even though it seemed like before it was quite
12:59soft, completely different.
13:00But here's what it actually looks like.
13:02I want to say this skin will calm down and the result will differ slightly.
13:07What do I do?
13:08I take the nippers and make a cut first.
13:11I'll show you.
13:12Here I made a cut, but on the other finger I didn't make a cut.
13:16I'm still in favor of this type of treatment because when there's a lot of this skin, if
13:21you put the bit under the cuticle, you can either tear the skin or file into the side
13:26walls.
13:27And by the way, this will be the case on all the other fingers.
13:30As an experiment, I'll show you exactly that.
13:33So for me, this kind of approach is more convenient.
13:37So we remove the skin that we can cut off.
13:39And like I said, it's kind of double layered, so you can't even get under it with nippers.
13:44And I lift these spots so you can see how difficult it is to work with.
13:48But I recommend doing this kind of preparation before working with the drill bits, just so
13:54you don't tear it later.
13:56Otherwise, nothing good will come of it.
13:58After trimming, I take the pusher again and then we apply talc and start the treatment.
14:04But while the other fingers are resting, I want to emphasize one thing.
14:08Our thumbs, the ones that had a really huge lunula, now look like this.
14:13The lunula has become smaller and we see a normal cuticle, not the one we had at the
14:19beginning.
14:19Rewind to the beginning and take a look.
14:22The nails are already starting to change significantly.
14:25And at this moment, of course, when I ask her if she sees the result, she smiles and
14:29says yes, even though she didn't believe it before.
14:32On these fingers, I start the treatment with an orange stick because the cuticle was holding
14:37onto the nails so tightly.
14:40That is, it just absolutely refused to come off or separate.
14:44That's why I use the orange stick first.
14:47By the way, here I've shown you the lunulas that were there so you can compare.
14:51And the lunula that has become...
14:53Well, in my opinion, it's just like night and day.
14:56She came to me with cuticles like this.
14:58You can see how much she was...
14:59Well, basically, things were in pretty bad shape.
15:02And yes, the most attentive ones notice the overfiling along the sidewalls.
15:06That can happen when working with a complicated cuticle, especially when you're dealing with
15:10pickers.
15:10But gradually, this effect will go away.
15:13When the skin calms down, it will be easier to work with, there will be fewer adhesions
15:18and less chance of filing too much.
15:21And believe me, in this situation, the filing is the least of the issues because there's
15:25a huge dent in the nail here, in case anyone didn't notice.
15:28Our job is to let the dent grow out, moving down as the nail grows, though it won't flatten.
15:34Is it possible to reconstruct it?
15:36Yes, it is.
15:37But I think it's unnecessary, firstly because the nails are overfiled and there's no need
15:41to touch them.
15:42And secondly, the girl is a medical worker, so she can't have any coating.
15:47Here, I'm showing you clearly that a small piece of smooth nail plate has already grown
15:51back.
15:52I showed her as well, of course, and she was happy about it.
15:56I also lifted the cuticle on the other fingers.
15:58This is how it looks.
16:00Now, we're going back to the middle finger.
16:02On the middle finger, I take a safety bit and start the treatment.
16:06I'm working very, very carefully.
16:08My goal is to push back the cuticle.
16:11The speed is about 1010-1012 RPM.
16:15I'm also using a device from Dr. Alex, SP130, which is the very device on which I set my records.
16:23This device has never let me down and I'm really happy about that.
16:27And on the index finger, as I promised, I left the cuticle untrimmed before treatment.
16:34And notice, it's already torn.
16:35So there's already a tear there.
16:37If we continue with the diamond bit, there will be a hole later.
16:41So first, we'll trim it and then we'll do everything else.
16:45On the thumbs, we're also going to cut off our little strip now and a large area of the nail
16:50plate will be exposed.
16:52So you'll be able to see that it's already nice and even.
16:56It looks pretty and there's definitely progress.
16:59And there you have the double cuticle effect.

17:02I cut it off, but there's another one underneath.
17:05It's only skin.

17:23Next, we apply telcum powder and then we'll move on to working with diamond burrs.

17:39Why did I choose it?
17:41Well, first of all, I wanted a coarser abrasive.
17:43I specifically took the blue one here because there are ridges that need to be filed down.
17:48And it's important now to do a better job with the treatment so that her nails get less rough,
17:53but still not to over-file them.
17:55Because if we remove a large amount of skin,
17:57then, of course, what will it do?
18:00It will try to protect itself.
18:02And the effect we're seeing now with huge pieces,
18:05flaps of skin that stick and don't want to come off the cuticle,
18:09that's exactly the skin's protective function.
18:12That is, this is how it reacts to damage.
18:16To put it very simply,
18:18it kind of wants to hold on tighter
18:20because it has too often felt attacked by its owner.
18:25So it was often hurt.
18:26And, of course, it tries to be stronger, tries to get thicker.
18:30Our task now is to let this skin know that everything is fine, it's safe.
18:34And now everything will be very gentle and very, very smooth.
18:39That's why the phrase, of course, you need to file with the bit,
18:43but don't overdo it, don't remove too much,
18:45because actually, it's easy to do with any bit,
18:49but probably especially with the blue one.
18:51But nevertheless, because the nail folds are very, very rough,
18:54there's a lot of build-up,
18:56and she really wanted everything to be cleaned thoroughly,
18:59I chose this particular drill bit.
19:01But here it's two-in-one.
19:03There's also a sharp tip,
19:05but, of course, we won't stop with just the blue grit,
19:07because we definitely need to go over it with the red one
19:11to smooth everything out, to polish it all.
19:14On the big toes, I also continue working mainly around the side walls
19:18and try not to touch the center.
19:20So when I go over the middle,
19:22I press very gently on the skin to avoid hitting the center.
19:26Look, see, this is the result.
19:28Already a few millimeters of a straight, even nail plate.
19:31I consider this a victory.
19:32You can leave some kind of, I don't know, fireworks in the comments.
19:35It's a celebration, because this is really great.
19:38Next, I took a red drill bit, also from KMIS.
19:43And it's sharp, it's a red flame bit.
19:47I'll use it to slightly refine the hard-to-reach areas,
19:50because basically I did all the work with the previous drill bit.
19:53But first of all, I don't mind changing the drill bit.
19:56I'm not one of those people who does everything with just one bit.
19:59I really don't see any point in that at all.
20:01I believe that each drill bit should be used for specific tasks.
20:06We went over it with the drill bit, and then we move on to trimming again.
20:10We will have a lot of trimming to do, because the cuticle is what I call unlimited.
20:15So, we trimmed it the first time after the safety drill bit,
20:19and now we're trimming again after the diamond drill bits,
20:22and then we'll need to buff it.
20:24And honestly, while buffing, I found what and where I needed to trim.
20:28Pay attention to the trimming I'm doing,
20:31and you can clearly see that the skin is really kind of rubbery.
20:35I mean, it actually looks rubbery.
20:37By the way, I switched from nippers to scissors in this case.
20:41Why?
20:43For this type of rubbery cuticle, I highly recommend using scissors,
20:47especially with a curved tip,
20:49because I don't need to cut everything off completely and forever.
20:53I need to make the neatest, smoothest cut possible
20:55without pressing on the skin or creating any hangnails.
20:59Because the buffing part is going to be quite an adventure for me.
21:03By the way, here are the over-filed grooves that everyone wanted to see and gloat over.

21:15So, next, we move on to treating the cuticle using a diamond bit for buffing.
21:20I took a small one.
21:22I always, honestly, I have trouble with these names anyway,
21:25this round one for buffing,
21:26but with a small diameter.
21:30Personally, I prefer a larger diameter, like the 50.
21:33I always remember it.
21:34I like it the most, both in balls and in these cylinders, I think.
21:38But still, we managed, we finished buffing.
21:40You can see that the skin is already on the edge.
21:43It's really close, so we're finishing up the treatment.
21:46Remember, our goal is not to harm, but to help.
21:50After that, we removed the polish.
21:52Yes, we forgot to take it off at the beginning,
21:54and like I said, the polish kept shining until the very end.
21:59After removing the polish,
22:01we will use the e-file and a file to shape the length of the free edge.
22:04I'm just slightly shaping the free edge,
22:07and at this point, there's no talk yet about any specific shape or anything like that, no.
22:11We filed it to keep it out of the way, leaving about a millimeter.
22:16The diamond strengthener from the acetone series by Domex is back on camera again once more.
22:21But I want to say that today we're doing color today,
22:25because I already applied this polish.
22:27Well, maybe we'll add some color, and of course we did apply color.
22:31If someone wants it, why not?
22:33I don't mind, especially since I love painting nails.
22:35I get these flashbacks and feelings of nostalgia,
22:39because before I started doing nails professionally,
22:42I really loved painting my own nails with polish,
22:45and for me, it's truly a labor of love.
22:48So we applied the clear coat,
22:50and by the time I went to get the colored polish,
22:53the clear coat was already completely dry.
22:56My colored polish is...
22:57Oh, I forgot to take it off, but my colored polish is from IQ Beauty.
23:02The color is quite tricky, because it's semi-transparent,
23:05so with semi-transparent colors,
23:07we definitely need to apply them on super smooth nails.
23:11And I didn't buff these nails at all.
23:13I didn't polish them or anything,
23:15because as you can see, there weren't many nails to begin with.
23:18Especially judging by how she came in,
23:20I mean, they were filed down to redness.
23:21Oh, I haven't told you yet.
23:23Do you know how they ended up filed down to redness?
23:25She used a nail file to remove the coating.
23:27Yes, she wanted to remove it herself at home.
23:29By the way, she does have a nail drill,
23:31but I asked her not to use it anymore.
23:34Well, in general, the difficulty with these polishes
23:36is that they have to be applied on perfectly smooth nails,
23:39and if your nails are natural, for example, with ridges,
23:43then of course you'll run into some difficulties.
23:45But since my client is a medical professional
23:48and can't have any bright colors,
23:49she chose this semi-transparent one,
23:51and we applied it in two medium coats.
23:53And the secret to the wear and drying of polish on nails, of course,
23:57is to use all three phases.
23:59That's the base coat,
24:01which in my case is a base polish,
24:03the colored polish from IQ Beauty,
24:06and also the top coat,
24:07the drying top from Domix.
24:09And then, as the cherry on top,
24:12you can use this kind of drying product,
24:14which we have available in the salon.
24:16It's simply applied as drops onto the finished polish.
24:20But the most important thing is that you make sure to dry each layer of polish between coats,
24:26so you need to let it dry for a few minutes.
24:29Here we had a little accident,
24:31and now I'll show you how you can fix it.
24:34I dropped some drying oil,
24:36my nails are already kind of dry,
24:37but you know,
24:38there's still a film on top,
24:39and underneath there's still a bit wet.
24:41So, with the help of the drying oil and gentle strokes,
