00:00We saw a massive gallery of buyers here.
00:02We yarded around 800 yearling and weaner cattle
00:05with some really good PTIC and some cows with calves at foot
00:08at the end of the sale there.
00:10Your big heavy feeder steers, or some that can go to the trade,
00:13sort of around that 460 to 500 kilos.
00:16They were sort of fully firm, around $4.80 to $5.00 a kilo
00:19on those big fellas, getting back into those genuine feeder steers.
00:24$5.20 to $5.30 for those fellas who fell black
00:27and showed a bit of frame and a bit of maturity.
00:29If we stepped down a rung, we were up the steers
00:31and those sort of $3.30 to $3.40, $50, $60 kilo steers.
00:37They were out to $5.70 a kilo on those boys.
00:40So a good return there.
00:41We probably saw a 10 cents lift across those steers.
00:45Black, weaned, and your colours are probably 10 cents off of that
00:48but still sold to a very, very good competition.
00:50Your little fellas, there wasn't too many in the sale today.
00:52Probably one of the heaviest yardings we've had at Strathalvin
00:55but those little fellas got out to a tick over those $6.00 a kilo.
00:59Fully firm on the heifers.
01:00The odd pen probably saw a slight rise
01:02but fully firm on the heifers, $5.00 to $5.30 across the board.
01:06I guess if those heavier, almost heifers that can go to the trade,
01:10they were sort of around $4.80 as well, similar to the steer rates.
01:14But yeah, your heifers, $5.00 to $5.30 across the board.
01:16The south-east stepped up today.
01:18There was a few out of that Kingston sort of down-the-rope area
01:21that obviously, you know, on the back of good season down there
01:23and our local clients through the hills here were chipping away
01:27as well as the regular feed and local buyers were operating on the top end.
01:31So, no, all in all, a very big crowd and a good sale.
