Put your skin on pins and needles with this facial. Using microneedles and radio frequencies to stimulate collagen, Vivace is like acupuncture for your face.

00:00My skin and I have a complicated relationship.
00:04Some days I experience really crazy acne breakouts,
00:07but some days it is really, really clear.
00:09It's really hit or miss.
00:10It's kind of annoying.
00:11I'm Laurice, and today I am getting a facial.
00:14So this facial is going to be using little tiny needles
00:18to poke at my face.
00:19Needles make me nervous.
00:21Try not to think about it too much, I don't know.
00:24OK, so it's going to be a little cold, but it'll be OK.
00:27This is the easy part.
00:28Ooh, it's thick.
00:33You know how in Stranger Things,
00:35how they have all that goo and slime and stuff?
00:39That's just kind of how my face feels.
00:41So the numbing balm feels kind of tingly.
00:44It kind of feels like icy hot.
00:47Nerves are starting to set.
00:51My name is Dr. Sejal Shah.
00:53I'm a cosmetic dermatologist,
00:55and I'll be doing Laurice's Vivace treatment today.
00:58So Vivace is a new treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency.
01:03Microneedling is a treatment that uses small needles to create microinjury to the skin
01:08and stimulate collagen.
01:10And radiofrequency utilizes heat to stimulate collagen.
01:13So the combination improves skin texture, tone, and overall firmness of skin.
01:18Whoa.
01:18Vivace is different from traditional microneedling in that it does have radiofrequency with it.
01:23It's not just a mechanical-based treatment.
01:25There's a heat aspect to the treatment.
01:27Also, the device is very different because it uses a robotic arm to push the needles very gently and smoothly
01:35into the skin.
01:36On a scale of 1 through 10, I would say most patients experience a 1 or level 2 pain.
01:40So overall, a very, very comfortable treatment.
01:43Because it's a very smooth insertion of the needles, we really don't see much bleeding as you do with a
01:48traditional microneedling.
01:51So what's really interesting about the Vivace is it does have an LED light with it as well.
01:56We can adjust the light to be blue or red depending on what we're treating.
02:00This blue light can be used to treat acne because it can target the P. acnes bacteria.
02:05To see more long-lasting results, it does take a series of treatments and does take some more time
02:10because it takes about three months to really get real collagen stimulation.
02:16So we're all done. How do you feel?
02:18I feel, whoa.
02:20Okay, so this is just like a soothing mask.
02:24It's been formulated specifically to be used after a Vivace treatment.
02:28We'll leave that on for about 10 minutes or so.
02:31Vivace is a treatment that can really be used for all skin types.
02:34It's not specific to oily skin or dry skin and even skin color.
02:38It can be used for light skin and dark skin types.
02:41I feel so good on my numb face.
02:44I don't really know how acupuncture works, but I feel like in that moment I sort of understood the hype
02:51about it.
02:52I didn't expect it to ever feel good.
02:58A few questions this week at night will go awhile.
02:58And then you send you the gift of 13,667,004.
02:58I don't know what you've read about yours, but because it's the greatest美잔 pandemic,
