Central Visayas records P874.27B in bank deposits in Q1

Central Visayas records P874.27 billion in bank deposits in the first quarter of 2026, representing 3.94 percent of the country’s total deposit liabilities, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. BSP Cebu Regional Office bank officer Gregorio E. Baccay II presented the figures at the 2nd City of Talisay Business Summit 2026. Despite the substantial deposits, the region’s loan-to-deposit ratio stood at 53.1 percent in 2025, pointing to opportunities to channel more financial resources toward business expansion and investments.

00:00So let us examine the LDR, which helps us understand the relationship between deposits, received by the banks, and the
00:10loan instead.
00:12So percent of Visayas, the reported loan-to-deposit ratio, increased from 46.1% in 2022 to 53.8
00:21% in 2023.
00:23And it declined 53.8% and it actually declined in 2024 at 51.9% and accelerated in 2025
00:34at 53.1%.
00:37So, magkita na to grap ang deposit liabilities for the country as of March 2026.
00:48We have 22.2 trillion. And then for Central Visayas, we have 874.27 billion.
00:59That's what deposits. So magkita na kuwarta ang Central Visayas.
01:03Pero kung ang tao niyo, ang percent share anya to the country's deposit liabilities, that's around 3.94 in the
01:11first quarter of 2026.
01:13As of the last full year, in 2025, that's 4.09.
01:18Tamay lang kayo at share.
01:20But still, ang akong gusto mabawuan is that, how does the deposit liabilities being translated to becoming a loan portfolio?
01:31Now, if you look at this, from these funds of 874.26 billion, in Central Visayas, it only translated 15
01:43.53 billion for loan.
01:45So, in other words, wala na gamit for expansion ng mga kuwarta sa Central Visayas.
01:50Now, I want to give you a data for that thing.
01:54For Talisay, your total deposit liabilities na natawa pa itong mga banko for as of June 30, 2026, is 23
02:05.988 billion.
02:08That's the total loan deposit liabilities accepted by banks in Talisay as of June 30, 23.988 billion.
02:18How much is converted into loan?
02:21It's only 7.862 billion.
02:26So, binamanak ng LDR, 32.78 percent.
02:32This is either, ato siya ang pautang sa Cebu, or ato siya ang pautang sa Gawas.
02:37Pero, nandawang nato, kamayang nata ang tango, loan to deposit liabilities.
02:44In other words, ang kuwarta sa pag-expand sa mga negosyo na ng kuwarta, there is actually source of answers,
02:54but not converted into useful investment.
02:59So, it's up to you to explore with banks.
03:03I cannot recommend, whether it's finding ways, or meaningful banking, or whatever your timeline is.
03:11So, I cannot give you one bank, of course, for you to asal mo mga kutang.
03:17But, there are resources in Cebu, in Talisay, in the region, that we can maximize of.
03:57So, I cannot give you one bank, of course, for you to asal mo mga kutang.
03:58So, there we go.
03:59So, I cannot give you one bank.
04:00You
