Alongside the travel story, they also talk about the practical side of bringing a pet on international trips, from long-haul flights to moving between countries with a large dog. It’s a personal travel vlog for anyone interested in pet travel, dog-friendly adventures, expat life, and life on the road with animals.

This is a useful watch for viewers searching for dog travel stories, travelling with pets, international pet relocation, Thailand travel vlog, and real-life travel with a Labrador. 00:00Coming up on Lloyd and Mandy.
00:02He's got to be one of the most well-traveled dogs in the world.
00:06Where are you?
00:10I think a lot of people are surprised when they, like that we bring our dog to so many different
00:18places.
00:18Because it seems like such a huge thing, which it kind of is, but it's not, it's actually not that
00:23hard.
00:24Um, oh, great. Doing a poo.
01:09Are you ready to go?
01:14It is hot.
01:22Hot hay bear.
01:34Okay, so today we have a rented car because Lloyd had to rent one for his driver's test.
01:41Unfortunately, there was maybe a miscommunication or they misinformed Lloyd.
01:47He wasn't able to do his test today, so he's got to rehire the car another day.
01:53But we're just going to take advantage of having a rented car for the day.
01:56And we're going to head out to an area called Kowtao.
01:59We actually stayed in this area when we first came to Hua Hin.
02:02It's really nice. It's sort of like an up and coming neighborhood.
02:05I think it looks like it's starting to get pretty built up with like condos and that type of thing.
02:11Um, we're going to go out there. It's really dog friendly as well.
02:13A lot of people walk their dogs out there and one of our favorite restaurants slash bars is out there
02:18as well.
02:19It's an awesome place for sunset.
02:21Uh, so we just thought it'd be a good opportunity to take you guys with us and show a little
02:25bit more of Hua Hin
02:26because I'm not really in bed dying today.
02:42Okay, before we go any further, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting the channel
02:48for the last, what is it now, two and a half years?
02:50Yeah.
02:51Two and a half years and, um, we are really creeping up to a hundred thousand subscribers.
02:58We're getting really close, but around about like 70%, I think it is, of people watching our videos are not
03:06subscribed.
03:07So if you're not subscribed yet, please hit that subscribe button so we can reach the hundred K mark.
03:13I'm actually in the middle of trying to plan a really huge giveaway for when we hit a hundred thousand
03:20subscribers,
03:20just to give back to all you guys who have followed us on this journey and supported the channel.
03:26I'm not going to tell you what it is just yet, but it's going to be big.
03:30So hit that subscribe button.
03:33Okay, so for those of you who have been following us for a while, you probably know how well-traveled
03:38Bear is.
03:38He's probably, he's got to be one of the most well-traveled dogs in the world.
03:43He's gone the whole east coast of Australia from the Gold Coast to Melbourne, Byron Bay, and then he's gone
03:54to LA.
03:55We spent a few days with him in LA and flew him down to Mexico with us.
04:00He spent almost six months in Mexico and we took him on a bunch of road trips there.
04:08And then he flew up to Canada with us and spent a couple of months in Canada, which he loved.
04:15And then he joined us on our RV road trip where we spent, what was that, five months in the
04:24RV?
04:24Yeah.
04:25Touring around America.
04:27So he's seen probably half of the United States and then finally Thailand here with us now.
04:35Yeah.
04:35I mean that's, that's a few miles for a dog.
04:39Yeah.
04:39I wish he had a passport.
04:41I know, we should have gotten one.
04:45Where are we?
04:46You're on the beach?
04:56Are we close?
05:00Where's the beach?
05:07So we actually stayed at this place.
05:11I believe it's called Las Tortugas.
05:14When we first came to Guayin and we actually caught someone in our bedroom.
05:20One of the maintenance guys going through our camera.
05:24Um, he thought we were out for a while and we had come back and he was like going through
05:29our stuff in our bedroom.
05:31Yeah.
05:31That was pretty wild.
05:33That was really bad.
05:35Yeah.
05:36Really.
05:36We were, we had, so we were staying there and actually the guy who owned it was really
05:40nice.
05:40I don't want to like bad mouth his Airbnb.
05:42Yeah.
05:43It was really cool.
05:44We had a leak coming from the bathroom roof going into like the sink.
05:48So we told him about it and he got maintenance to come have a look and they just so happened
05:53to show up as we were about to walk out the door to go get lunch down here, which is
05:57only
05:57a hundred meters away.
05:59And I got about 20 steps and realized I forgot my wallet.
06:05We put all of our computer, camera, everything in our bedroom.
06:10And all they had to do was go into the bathroom and fix this leak and we told them to
06:13lock it
06:14behind us.
06:15These two maintenance guys, we had said hello to every day for a month and they were really
06:20nice.
06:21So we thought they're not going to steal something like that.
06:25We know they're in there.
06:26They're not going to be stupid enough to like steal anything.
06:29And when I went back to go get my wallet, the bedroom door is wide open.
06:33And one of the guys has turned our camera on and is just scrolling through all the videos
06:37and photos, which was like, I was shocked.
06:41I didn't know what to do.
06:42I walked out and just was like, Hey, I told you this is what happened.
06:47And then we went in.
06:48And I was not having any of that, you know, go into my bedroom.
06:52Yeah.
06:53And then there was like a miscommunication.
06:55Um, he couldn't understand what we were saying.
06:57The manager didn't seem to care at all about that, but like he was not in trouble at all.
07:04So that was a bit irritating.
07:06She came back with him and was like, what time are you going out again?
07:09So he can come around and fix the problem.
07:11And I was like, he's not coming back in our room again.
07:14What are you talking about?
07:15You're insane.
07:17Anyway, it's a nice place, but just watch out for the maintenance workers if you stay there.
07:22All right, guys, we're just going to take a quick break to thank today's video sponsor, AG1.
07:27If you've never heard of AG1, it's a daily nutritional supplement that supports whole body health.
07:33So I've been drinking AG1 daily for probably about three months now.
07:38And that's because I prefer not to eat my breakfast first thing in the morning before I go and train.
07:43I usually eat around 11 or 12 o'clock, but I need something in my body in my system just
07:49to get my energy up ready for the day.
07:51I usually train at around eight or nine o'clock and I wake up at like 6 a.m.
07:56And AG1 is the perfect supplement for me to get my day started.
08:00Every scoop of AG1 contains vitamins and minerals optimized to support whole body health,
08:06including the gut, brain and immune system.
08:09And I can honestly tell the difference when I wake up and drink AG1 in the morning when I'm training.
08:14I feel like I'm more alert. I have more energy.
08:17And the reason that it makes me feel so good throughout the day is because AG1 uses adaptogens and B
08:23vitamins
08:24to support sustained energy, concentration and mental performance without the caffeine crash you get from coffee.
08:30So I don't know about you guys, but I don't like to wake up and just drink coffee straight away
08:34first thing in the day.
08:35I find that I get a crash at about one or two o'clock.
08:39I like to postpone my caffeine and AG1 is the perfect supplement for me in the morning.
08:44It's really simple to use. You just scoop, shake and drink.
08:47However, we also like to add AG1's vitamin D3 and K2 drops as well,
08:53which supports the cardiovascular system by encouraging healthy circulation.
08:57We also have these travel packs that we can now take with us on short little trips
09:01so we can drink AG1 while we're on the road, which is pretty cool.
09:05And probably what's most surprising about AG1 is just how great it tastes.
09:09I know it doesn't look like it would taste good because of the color.
09:12It looks like it's just like a veggie shake, but it actually tastes delicious, which is really surprising.
09:17And that's because they use naturally extracted essences from pineapple core and vanilla beans
09:22and never use added sugar or artificial sweeteners.
09:25So it's not one of these drinks that is advertised as being healthy, but it's just like full of sugars.
09:30It's absolutely natural and completely good for you.
09:33So if you want to give it a go and try AG1 for yourself, it's really simple.
09:37Just click our unique link down below in the description
09:40and you'll get a free one year supply of vitamin D3 and K2,
09:44as well as five free AG1 travel packs with your first purchase.
09:49So go ahead, give it a try, see how you like it.
09:51And thank you AG1 for sponsoring today's video.
09:54Now we'll get back into it.
10:14And then we'll get posted too.
10:20And I'll see you next week.
10:20You guys right back in the next few minutes.
10:22We'll get you ready to go with your TED Radio.
10:25You'll use your first purchase coming.
10:27He's so happy.
10:33Yeah.
10:58Hey, you're getting sand everywhere.
11:02It's not that relaxing when you're with bear, is it?
11:06Good thing he's cute.
11:07Yeah.
11:08I think a lot of people are surprised when they, like that we bring our dog to so many
11:15different places because it seems like such a huge thing, which it kind of is, but it's
11:19not, it's actually not that hard.
11:21It's pretty easy.
11:23All you have to do, and this has been the same for everywhere, like to get him into
11:27the United States, Mexico, Canada, and here, you pretty much just have to have rabies shot.
11:34That's the one thing that they need to be up to date on for everywhere, no matter what.
11:38And then there's a couple of other shots that you need to give them, vaccinations, depending
11:43on the country, and then a vet check.
11:45Once you do that, you have a choice.
11:47You can either ship your pet, um, as cargo, which is what we did the first time because
11:55we didn't fly with him from Sydney to LA, obviously.
11:58And that's been a lot more expensive, but that's one way to do it.
12:01Or if you're flying with your pet, like a lot of airlines will actually let you fly your
12:06pet as excess baggage.
12:08So it's basically the same as flying with like a surfboard or a snowboard or something.
12:13It's just oversized luggage.
12:15There's a bit of extra paperwork and you have to ring the airline to make sure that they
12:20have room for your pet and you get him booked on.
12:23I think you can only do it a couple of weeks in advance, which does make it tough.
12:26But really, if you look into it, there's not that much involved in flying a pet from one
12:33country to another.
12:34The biggest hurdle is just like the anxiety, right?
12:38Like it's not, it doesn't feel great knowing that your dog's in a crate and doesn't know
12:44what's going on.
12:44That's the toughest thing, really.
12:46I do have to say that after all that Bear has been through though, he's like a much
12:52better behaved dog.
12:54Like just from everything that he's been exposed to and he's like a much more relaxed,
12:58like he used to be super anxious.
13:00He, he knows what to expect now and he doesn't seem to have that panicky thing.
13:04When the crate comes, he kind of understands what's happening.
13:07The first time was just really hard, but now is much easier.
13:11Um, oh, great.
13:15He's doing a poo.
13:17At least he's not doing it in the water like you do.
13:19Yeah.
13:20When we're in Mexico, we first took him to the beach and he likes to poo in the water
13:28and he did it.
13:29This is the first time we took him to the beach and some lady like had a full go at
13:34us,
13:34like went ballistic saying, you better go and pick that up.
13:37And it was literally like, I could not, you couldn't pick it up.
13:40As he was pooing, he was getting washed out to shore.
13:43So I just said to her like, like, what do you want me to do man?
13:47And she was so angry about it.
13:49And I, I said to her, you do realize that sewage gets pumped into the ocean.
13:55Don't you?
13:55Like where your poo goes is the same place.
13:59And she didn't like that at all.
14:00No.
14:01No.
14:01Her husband thought it was funny though.
14:21So as you can see kite surfing is really popular out here.
14:25You can actually, I believe you can rent them and all the equipment and everything from the
14:29anchor bar that we're going to, that seems to be the vibe there.
14:32It's pretty cool.
14:34It's the perfect place to do it.
14:36It's kite surfing.
14:37Yeah.
14:38This lady's going for it.
14:39I don't know if they call it quite surfing or quite boarding, but yeah.
14:43Same shit.
14:44I guess.
14:44Yeah.
14:45I want to try, but it looks really fucking hard.
14:48It does look hard.
15:15Hey, my.
15:18Hey, my.
15:27Yeah.
15:29I don't know, man.
15:32Pu展uir.
15:33I think, a new breed.
15:35And that looks great.
15:36From the middle.
15:38You couldn't obviously ride.
15:40But I do near a summer to come into it while it is some ...
15:40By the way it another could do it oching an apple.
15:41Hey, My Okay.
15:44What do you have?
15:46Not sure.
15:47I'm so hungry right now.
15:50Mandy's always hungry lately.
15:54Thanks honey.
15:56She doesn't get fat.
15:57It all goes to the baby.
15:58I eat the same and it all goes to my gut.
16:01It's really hard.
16:03Don't they say that men put on weight when their wives are pregnant?
16:07That's why.
16:08Because we keep up with you guys eating so much.
16:12And I took up baking as a hobby.
16:25Yum.
16:29Looks so good.
16:31So cheap, right?
16:3260 baht.
16:35And look at the view.
16:39Guess how much lunch was?
16:41Mmm.
16:42We had, I had a beer.
16:44You had two, you had an iced tea and a, what did you have?
16:48Ginger ale.
16:49Ginger ale and a pad thai.
16:54Um, I don't know, like 25, 30?
16:59Dollars?
17:00Yeah.
17:01250 baht.
17:03What is that?
17:05That's like 10 bucks, isn't it?
17:0710 dollars Aussie, yeah.
17:08Wow.
17:09Probably like 7 or 8 US.
17:10Yeah.
17:11Such good value.
17:12I've not had a bad meal there.
17:14It's so good.
17:15And it's like really fresh, like home cooked food.
17:18The Thai food, it's really nice.
17:20Can't recommend it enough.
17:21You'll probably run into us if you end up going there.
17:30You wanna swim?
17:33You wanna swim?
17:35You wanna swim?
17:37You wanna swim?
17:39You wanna swim?
17:42I don't know if he wants to swim or not.
17:45Come on.
18:17Come on.
18:46Come on.
18:46Such a timid dog.
18:50The bear does not give a fuck about worry.
18:54I don't faze him at all.
18:57Come on, buddy.
19:29I just couldn't jump in.
19:32We had an ice cream tuk tuk on the beach.
19:37We have to get one.
19:40Come over here.
19:41What's up?
19:43You can't see us.
19:46Hey, I thought we were getting one.
19:59Okay, so if you do want to travel with a dog, honestly, it's possible.
20:03It's not as impossible as it seems.
20:07Just do your research for what country you're traveling to.
20:11Weigh up your options if it's the right decision for you and your dog.
20:16Like, we really had to weigh up our options.
20:18We didn't take the decision to travel with him lightly.
20:23But just couldn't really imagine giving him up.
20:26And we had help from family who looked after him for a while while we were gone.
20:31And then we also had to leave him in a friend's place in Canada for about five or six months.
20:38But other than that, he's been with us the whole time and we don't regret any of it.
20:43It's just another challenge for us traveling with a dog.
20:48And we're happy we brought him here to Thailand.
20:50He's happy.
20:50He gets to go to the beach.
20:52He has a pool.
20:53We will leave all the links for the pet travel companies that we've used.
20:59And as I said, like, just do your research.
21:02There's so many blogs and videos about how to travel with a dog.
21:05There's certain airlines that will let you fly with pets.
21:10If you've got a big dog like Bear, unfortunately, he can't fly in the cabin.
21:15Unless maybe it's domestic in the USA, he might be able to.
21:19But we'll leave all the links down below.
21:21And, yeah, we'll be showing more of Bear.
21:25Because I've seen in the comments a lot of people asking for us to include Bear in the videos.
21:29So sweet.
21:30I think they think we don't want to include him in the videos.
21:32But it's just that it's hard sometimes when we're off traveling and doing things.
21:37We have to kind of leave him at home a lot.
21:39Some of the memories that we've been able to, like, create with Bear as well.
21:44I was like, it's so invaluable.
21:47Like, swimming in a freshwater lagoon in Mexico.
21:50We were jumping off the dock with him.
21:53And all the locals were calling him also Grande for Big Bear.
21:59That was a really special time.
22:01And just even showing up here in Thailand, everyone sort of points and laughs at him a lot everywhere we
22:06go.
22:07I'm not really sure why.
22:08He's just sort of strange, I think.
22:10But, yeah, don't regret it at all.
22:13It definitely was stressful at times.
22:15But also a lot of negativity sort of thrown our way sometimes about it.
22:20But I can understand, like, everybody loves their dogs a lot.
22:24And we don't want to put them in uncomfortable positions.
22:27But just like us, like, the experience helped Bear grow.
22:30Like, he's a way better behaved dog.
22:32Like, I can't even explain it.
22:35He's grown up a lot from the experience.
22:38And so have we.
22:40And I think it's sort of prepped us a little bit for traveling with a kid a little bit.
22:45Just adding that extra stress.
22:46Because when we have to fly with Bear and a baby, that's going to be interesting.
22:52Do you think he knows that he's been to different countries?
22:56I don't think so.
22:57He probably doesn't even know.
22:58He just got in a crate and then all of a sudden he was...
23:01At a different beach.
23:03He honestly acclimatizes so fast when he gets somewhere new.
23:06Like, a couple of days and he's just his normal self.
23:09Yeah.
23:10Swimming, eating.
23:11He's been really healthy since he's been here.
23:13So, I don't think he even knows that he's in Thailand.
23:17No.
23:19Yeah.
23:30I'm making Lloyda lasagna tonight.
23:33Having trouble finding everything yet.
23:36Oh, my God.
24:06One of the great things about Hawaiian is that it's both car and motorbike friendly.
24:12A lot of places are one or the other, but the roads aren't too small for cars here for
24:18the most part.
24:20And everyone drives really slow and nobody beeps here either, I've noticed.
24:24In Bangkok it's nonstop beeping, but no one uses the horn here, which is really nice.
24:30It's very quiet.
24:45Here we go.
24:46Here we go.
24:50Here we go.
24:51Here we go.
25:03Come.
25:19Here we go.
25:22Here we go.
25:33Here is he.
25:36As always, don't forget to hit the like button and if you haven't already, subscribe really
25:40helps us out.
25:42Like I said, plenty of really helpful videos coming to you soon.
25:47Hope you enjoyed it.
25:48We'll see you guys as always in the next one.
25:49Bye.
25:50We'll see you next time.
25:56Bye.
25:57Bye.
25:57Bye.
25:57Bye.
25:58Bye.
26:01Bye.
26:02Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up.
