00:00Whatever your call is, live in it.
00:07I'm Amin, I do music and I'm from West London.
00:11I feel like I'm a really cool person and I would like others to feel cool.
00:15I just want everyone to feel empowered.
00:18OK, so we're in my dad's shed.
00:20This is where I started writing music for the first time.
00:23I remember finished writing and I thought, am I bugging or is this good?
00:27So I called my friend and I just spat it like over the phone.
00:30And then I came into school and then everyone was like, you didn't write that.
00:32And I was like, OK, so I must be really good at this.
00:35And I just carried on doing it.
00:36Well, these are just a few of the first books I started using.
00:40Most people use their phones and they use notes, but I didn't want to do that.
00:43I think it was something about touching it.
00:46People always told me, oh, so you're quite R&B and here are the beats.
00:49And then I noticed everything was quite soft and like sad and like, love me, please.
00:54Especially here, because I feel like the UK scene is so like male dominated.
00:59I just want it to level up.
01:00I just don't see why it's like, they talk about how sick they are and how many women love them
01:05and want them.
01:06And then we talk about, I want you, I love you.
01:08And it's just like, nah, I'm going to talk about how many guys want me.
01:14Nadia is like the initial person.
01:16She gave me my first kind of taste into like the industry.
01:20We went to high school together, so she's always known me, she's always known I was on music.
01:23And then she was like, I have some friends who record next door to my photography studio.
01:27If you want, you can work there and I can introduce you.
01:30That's a great friend. I can, I still, I'm so grateful for her.
01:34I'm going to help her as well, so any, any way I can, I'm there.
01:39Makeup on stage, I think there needs to be like one thing that pops.
01:44So whether it be like a crazy eye or a crazy lip.
01:49Day to day, I love, I love gold and yellows and I like dewy, I like glowy.
01:56I like just enhancing what you already have.
01:59We work a lot, so we always want to be comfortable.
02:02So it's not so much about being tomboyish.
02:04Because we don't dress like necessarily like how a female would be expected to dress.
02:08I don't think it takes away from like how we present ourselves.
02:11And really we just do ours.
02:14We talk every day.
02:16Rui's probably the first person that loves me in the morning.
02:19Yeah, we talk way too much, way more than other like regular friends probably do.
02:24Molo is like a community centre.
02:27This was an important place for me growing up because it was the only place that I could come and
02:32record music.
02:33For free, let me add.
02:36It's just such a like a family orientated place.
02:39And because it's like an estate all around it.
02:42Everyone grew up together, everyone's known each other for a long time.
02:45See this life that I live, live it just for me.
02:51And you know it goes both ways baby.
02:54Not everything I do I'm gonna do, no.
02:58So we're in Wendy House, Woodstock Studios right now.
03:03And this is where I recorded my first EP with my label.
03:08And just being here just actually reminds me of the whole process.
03:11And it's just like giving me butterflies and I wish I could relive it.
03:15I'm super super proud of Moon.
03:17I feel like she's come so far in such a short space of time.
03:22It's not something that I'm particularly surprised about.
03:25I've always felt like it's meant to be.
03:27It felt good that Nadia believed in me because you need people to rock with you in music.
03:31You need people to believe it.
03:33At one point she was the only person so I appreciate it a lot.
03:37Not everything you know I'm going to know.
03:39Not everything you do I'm going to do.
03:42It's hard to like not watch other people and wonder why things aren't happening for you.
03:47And it's just something I say to myself to remind myself you know I'm exactly where I need to be.
03:52And everything that's supposed to be for me will be for me.
