00:02I believe women in sports are so much more than what's happening on the field.
00:07And we can learn about them through the power of story.
00:11I want to bring those stories to the world.
00:15I love indoor cycling.
00:18Everything I know about running a successful business, I've learned from sports.
00:25My name is Susan Sullivan and I'm the founder of the Women's Sports Film Festival.
00:29Where we curate and amplify stories of female athletes.
00:34The Adidas and I Fund Women initiative is providing support and mentorship for women who are reimagining sports.
00:40As a child, it was incredibly inspiring for me to watch female athletes on TV.
00:45My childhood dream was to be a world class athlete.
00:48Seeing a female athlete, a role model, captured my imagination.
00:53There's something about someone who overcomes incredible odds.
00:58Women's sports is often talked about in terms of what it isn't instead of what it is.
01:03It's often described in relationship to the dominant masculine model of sports.
01:10We're creating a new reference point where women's sports is self-defined, powerful and sovereign.
01:18At the Women's Sports Film Festival, I am reimagining sports by putting women and girls at the center of the
01:24story.
01:25I am impacting the world by encouraging every woman to embrace her inner athlete and be as powerful as she
01:32wants to be.
01:34The support from Adidas and I Fund Women is a game changer because it's the difference between giving someone a
01:40fish and giving someone a fishing pole.
01:42But that's what it's doing. It's teaching us how to fish through community, coaching and mentorship.
01:47What the Adidas and I Fund initiative makes possible for the Women's Sports Film Festival is that we can take
01:53a collection of short films and put them on the road and send them around the world.
01:57It puts these films in front of women and girls and communities who might have never come in contact with
02:04them before.
02:04We'll see you next time.
