00:14I have been a celebrity hairstylist for about 12 years.
00:18My first like serious celebrity job
00:20was going on tour with Alicia Keys.
00:23Like at 21 I was like traveling to Australia
00:26and New Zealand and Asia
00:27and it was an amazing experience.
00:30I specialize in transformations.
00:32I like to use really vibrant colors,
00:34haircuts, extensions.
00:36I do a lot of wigs.
00:38I have really remained true to who I am
00:41and what I believe to be artistry.
00:43So the inspiration behind my rose gold hair transformation
00:47today is my son.
00:48He wants to transform his hair from blonde to indigo blue.
00:54And I thought that we could both rock like colorful hair.
00:59All right guys.
01:00So here we are.
01:00We're about to do the hair color transformation.
01:04Clip those sections away so that they're not getting in your way
01:07as you're coloring your hair.
01:09Now I'm leaving this section
01:10because I like to start from the back.
01:12As you can see, I have a lot of brown mixed in with the blonde.
01:17So I'm just going to place the color all over.
01:19Now what's great about this color is that I can literally apply it with my fingers
01:26because it's not such a bold color.
01:29It won't stain.
01:31If you did have a bold color like a blue or a purple,
01:35I would suggest using gloves and it's going down.
01:39So the reason why I chose overtone color as opposed to any other brand is because
01:45this company has a healthy hair duo, meaning that it has the color care and the color conditioner.
01:54So you can literally maintain your hair color every time you wash.
01:58Quarantine folks, we're quarantined.
02:01Everyone's staying at home.
02:05Once I'm done with each subsection, I'm going to twist it so that way it doesn't start getting
02:12mixed in with any other hair section.
02:14So while you're applying this, you want to go from the ends.
02:19See how I like I concentrated the product on the lightest parts of my hair.
02:23Let's take small subsections because I want the color to really penetrate each strand of hair.
02:29One of the reasons why I chose rose gold was because I also had to take into consideration
02:34the other colors in my hair.
02:36So like, yeah, I have the blonde highlights, but my base is a brown, like a warm brown.
02:43And so I wanted the color that I chose to compliment my base color as well.
02:52I can't wait for this to be like over and I'll be a whole new woman.
03:00So before you apply any semi-permanent color, especially this color conditioner, you want to make sure your hair is
03:07clean and free of any product.
03:10You don't want to put too much product in it because you don't want to block your hair from being
03:15able to penetrate the color.
03:20Okay, now this process would typically take me anywhere from maybe 30 minutes to 45 minutes to apply and then
03:31another maybe hour to process.
03:34But because this particular product, Overtone says that you can only process it for about 15 to 20 minutes because
03:42it absorbs so quickly,
03:43that makes me really excited because I have a child.
03:48I have to work.
03:50There are things that I need to do that I can do while getting cute while still being really, really
03:57cute in the process.

04:41I think in order for this color to work for you, you'd have to get highlights of some sort
04:46and that I would definitely recommend you go to see a professional.
04:51So the first person who's going to see my hair is my child.
04:56I think he's going to flip his lid when he sees my hair color.
