00:12assistant. I'm Vanessa Golombeski. I am the associate entertainment editor. To be honest,
00:17I had no idea that I would be here when I graduated college. I left thinking that I was
00:22going to be a professional dancer and I was a textbook editor. It was not for me. While I was
00:27at college, I was a huge fan, so I was determined to work at Refinery. Kind of
00:30stalked everyone on the photo team, found out what their emails were and sent my
00:34resume. I write an article called Eight Things to Do in NYC this week. I get to
00:39research and explore the city. We produce a lot of original photography, so I'm
00:44responsible for a slew of different things. I cover everything from celebrity
00:48news, red carpets, movie premieres. I'm always interviewing someone. My day is
00:52different every single day. Oftentimes I am running around the office,
00:56spending very little time in my seat. Scouting locations for shoots, meeting
01:01with models, checking on image quality, sizing images. As soon as I get in, I'm
01:05looking for news. Who's got a new boyfriend? Who has a new movie? What's
01:09going on with women's rights? It really covers a lot of things. And then after
01:13work, I usually have an event to go to. My outfits, they have to be 24-hour
01:17outfits. Footwear is the most important part of my outfit. You'll never really find me
01:21in a pair of heels all day. I'm always on my feet. I'm always like running here, running
01:26there, so it's very important to me to have something functional and chic. What I
01:30love about these Sorel boots is that they're comfortable, but they're also
01:35polished. I think it's what I start out my day with. I don't even know what I'm
01:38wearing until I've put on the shoes. My advice for recent college grads is to be
01:43kind to everybody that you meet, and second, be willing to take on any task. Be
01:48fabulous and fierce, but at the same time, remember that when you're chasing your
01:52dreams, you still need to chill out a bit. You're gonna hear no all the time, but
01:56you can't get discouraged because finding a job is kind of like finding
01:59someone that you want to date. It's okay, like, if it takes you a long time to find
02:03that special someone. Maybe that'll lead me to running my own company one day.
