Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty normally let their clothes do all the talking, but with collections as personality-driven and exciting as Suno's, it's not surprising that the designers behind the clothes have a lot to say themselves.

00:00A burning question of mine, what does Suno mean?
00:03Suno's my mom's name. I'm half Korean, half German.
00:06So it's Sunok.
00:08So Max and Erin, thank you so much for stopping by our Refinery29 studio.
00:12I just saw the fall collection and it was absolutely breathtaking.
00:17Can you walk me through a little bit about your inspirations behind it?
00:19The idea behind it was modern armor.
00:21Kind of the way that we protect ourselves, we project ourselves.
00:24You know, the idea was how do we modernize that?
00:26You know, so we used neoprene and we used these crazy crystals and we placed quilting in unusual places.
00:33You know, all trying to create this sense of protection.
00:35Do you design with a specific woman in mind?
00:37I think when we're designing, I'm always thinking about what I want to wear.
00:40We want to create clothes that feel quirky and printed and unusual.
00:43But I think we also want to create something that's wearable and that you want to put on
00:48and that can work with different types of people and different types of personalities.
00:53Go to karaoke song?
00:54I did once do Ignition the remix with Mike Myers.
01:00Okay, Austin Powers, go ahead.
01:03I'm like, two, two.
01:04He's like, two, two.
