Interview with Tony Revolori and Saoirse Ronan
Transcript
00:06I wanted to ask you that Wes has a great history of romantic heroes, young romantic heroes,
00:13with bright eyes and bushy tails. Why do you think that Zero is the most romantic?
00:17Why do I think Zero? Because he's the most loyal, he makes sure no one messes with Saoirse, I mean
00:23Agatha,
00:23and he's the most romantic, I mean he learns it all from the best teacher you possibly could have, Mishra
00:30Gustaf,
00:31who's one of the most romantic people around.
00:34Why do you want to be a lobby boy?
00:36Who wouldn't? At the Grand Budapest, sir.
00:40Before this, what was your favourite Wes Anderson movie?
00:42Darjeeling Limited, without a doubt.
00:45It's hard to pick one, because I genuinely love all of them, there isn't one, he doesn't make bad films,
00:51he can't seem to make a bad film. What's wrong with him?
00:55I don't know.
00:57I really love Bottle Rocket actually, it's not quite as structured as his other films,
01:03but I really love Bottle Rocket. I love Rushmore as well, I loved Moonrise Kingdom, you know,
01:10they're great and they all have something kind of similar to offer you,
01:14yet it feels like a new experience every time you work on a film, or watch a film of his.
01:20Do you guys think he could ever do a film with a female lead?
01:23Oh yeah.
01:24I think so. I think Wes seems to understand women very well, and he depicts them very well.
01:30Yeah.
01:31And I think if Juman was involved...
01:33Definitely.
01:34It would be really great, yeah. I think he should do something like that actually.
01:38I think he will.
01:38I was thinking about that.
01:39Sooner or later. Sooner or later I know he'll do it, and I would love to see that movie.
01:44Yeah. They just, they're usually smart, slightly flawed women, like Gwyneth Paltrow's character in Tannenbaums and stuff.
01:53She's so interesting to watch, because there was so much to her.
01:56He gives all of his female characters so many layers, you know, so...
02:01Zero, I'm a baker.
02:03You're a pastry chef, one of the best in the region.
02:05I'm not a fence, if that's the term. I don't trade in stolen property.
02:08Who do you think is more intimidating? Jeff or Willem?
02:13Jeff Goldblum or Willem Dafoe?
02:15Willem. Ah, no, actually Willem's really sweet.
02:18He's more intimidating.
02:20Maybe from afar.
02:21From afar? I would say Willem.
02:22Willem from afar.
02:23Because, I mean, but when I met him, I thought, well, this is not who I pictured.
02:29And he's great. He's so kind, and he's funny too.
02:33I think when he's got those chumpers in, when he's got the teeth in.
02:37I remember my first scene shooting with him was him punching me.
02:40And I saw such a smile in his face when he was just, every take, he was just punching me
02:45and having a great smile, just having so much fun.
02:47And I had to, you know, keep a straight face, but it was so hard with him just enjoying it.
03:01Have you ever been questioned by the authorities?
03:02Yes, on one occasion.
03:03What, what, what?
03:04I was arrested and tortured by the rebel militia after the desert uprising.
03:07Right. Well, you know the drill then. Zip it.
