00:00My favorite Halloween costume, when I was younger I was a picnic.
00:04I had like fake ants glued all over me and like half eaten food.
00:11Writing and fashion were kind of in my lifeblood from an early age.
00:16Just, you know, dressing up. I loved Halloween and I still get that thrill.
00:20I'm very heavy into vintage and thrift and it's kind of the thrill of the hunt
00:23and the experience of fashion and shopping and searching and creating a look.
00:30It's something that I just have loved since I was young.
00:33It's like a puzzle, you know, it's like what can I make with what's here.
00:38Writing has been a huge part of my life as well since I was very little.
00:42I was always making up stories and, you know, I remember one time I wrote a ghost story with my
00:46friend.
00:47I got so scared I had to sleep with my sister for like weeks.
00:49I was too old to be doing that to begin with.
00:51Words are an approximation, a close approximation.
00:54Same with fashion is a close approximation of how you feel, what kind of day you're having, what mood you're
00:58in.
00:58I think the natural progression was to do fashion journalism.
01:03It just always made sense.
01:04I remember life before the internet and gadgets and phones.
01:09And I remember my first screen name, Rockstar 007, obviously.
01:13It's just become so much a part of what I do.
01:17And I think especially working at Refinery, you wear so many hats.
01:21I feel like as a New York editor, definitely, it's key for me to be tuned in at all times.
01:26This stream of content is called that because it's always regenerating and always flowing.
01:31It is part of the job to kind of have a 360 view of what's going on at all times.
01:36New York is endlessly inspiring.
01:38One day is never the same, one week is never the same.
01:41And I think that it's made me, you know, grow as a person, as an editor for sure.
01:46When you have so much information, when you have so many things to do,
01:49and when you have so much inspiration coming at you, you kind of become more of who you really are
01:54or were meant to be from the beginning.
01:56I do love what I do. I can't imagine doing anything else.
01:59My name is Annie Georgia Greenberg. I'm the New York editor of Refinery in 39.
