00:00TEA recently organized an entrepreneurial forum in Côte d'Ivoire.
00:05What data have you received from this country and what kind of added value can companies bring?
00:11Italians?
00:12Yes, we in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in particular the mission structure for the
00:19implementation of the Mattei Plan,
00:20We launched our country's first investment forum in sub-Saharan Africa.
00:26We chose Ivory Coast, not by chance, because Ivory Coast is a country that already gives
00:35as much to Europe in terms of exports of raw materials,
00:39I'm thinking mainly of cocoa, we're talking about the world's leading producer of cocoa, 70% of this cocoa comes from
00:48Europe
00:48and contributes to the resilience of some of our agri-food businesses,
00:55we are talking about the world's leading producer of cashews, among the world's leading producers of coffee,
01:02with a particularly significant contribution to Europe's energy mix,
01:10I then think of Eni's projects, of Belen's investments that will bring oil to Europe,
01:18but 100% gas for the citizens of Ivory Coast.
01:24On the basis of these assumptions, which are essentially of great economic potential,
01:29together with Sace and Cdp, we brought a group of Italian companies there,
01:37some of which, in the logic of the internationalization of our entrepreneurial system, will have in the Ivory Coast
01:49a reference market and therefore this is in line with the logic of equal partnerships with African countries.
01:57On the other hand, CDP is already working to promote Italian investments in the country.
02:08Clearly, what is the challenge? It's to bring Europe closer to Ivory Coast.
02:13The Mattei plan is a limited Italian effort, because resources are limited, but it is primarily a method.
02:19So in Ivory Coast we have brought the private system closer to this country
02:26and we hope that it can be a good practice to promote it in other economies involved in the plan.
