00:00From the cricket pitch to the golf course, World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev is now driving a new partnership
00:06between the professional golf tour of India and Business Today Golf.
00:11Unveiled at Delhi's Kutub Golf Course, the collaboration promises a bigger 27th season spanning 8 cities with the opening event
00:20in Kolkata and we leave you with this topic.
00:29How hard are you going to hit to get the ball to the hole? There you go. That's all.
00:34As soon as the growth of this golf course, I didn't think so quickly. It's a little bit of pressure,
00:41it's a little bit of pressure, it's a little bit of pressure and it's a lot of media.
00:47From lifting the Cricket World Cup in 1983 to taking aim at a very different kind of sporting challenge, Cricket
00:55legend Kapil Dev is bringing his winning touch to the golf course.
00:59The professional golf tour of India, a body run by the sporting veteran, is joining forces with Business Today in
01:05one of corporate India's longest running sporting traditions.
01:11Business Today is very proud to announce a tie-up with PGTI, one of the most well-known names in
01:20golf, not just in India, but globally.
01:25Unveiled at New Delhi's Kutub Golf Course, the partnership brings together two legends in their own right.
01:31Kapil Dev, whose sporting achievements inspired generations of Indians, and Business Today Golf,
01:36which has spent more than a quarter century bringing together corporate leaders through competition, camaraderie and a shared passion for
01:44the game.
01:44With Kapil Dev as the face of the tournament, and PGTI joining Business Today as a partner,
01:50the 27th season promises to build on that legacy, taking the tournament to seven cities across India.
01:58I think partnership is an important thing, and we feel as a golfing fraternity, business people coming in, it gives
02:09us so much happiness,
02:10because without business, no sports can last in any country. So we should say thanks to you people.
02:20For more than 26 years, Business Today Golf has offered India's corporate leaders something that boardrooms rarely provide,
02:28an opportunity to compete, connect and build relationships away from the pressures of everyday business.
02:35In association with PGTI, with the DP World PGTI, we are hoping to scale it up to a completely different
02:42level.
02:42We'll take it to different geographies within India, we'll sort of associate with some corporate leaders
02:49and with some golfing sort of icons like Kapil Dev, who's joining us.
02:54So we hope to scale it up, we'll hope to make it qualitatively much better than it was.
03:00The tournament has today evolved into a distinctive meeting ground for senior executives, accomplished golfers and sporting personalities,
03:09where leadership is measured not just by business performance, but also by sportsmanship, resilience and the ability to rise to
03:16a challenge.
03:19It is a spectator sport, but yes, obviously not like cricket.
03:23But I think it's growing slowly as infrastructure grows.
03:27And I think when our Prime Minister says, you know, Viksit Bharat in 2047,
03:34we need to start working on those lines because without golf, I don't think Viksit Bharat can happen.
03:42And the new season will take the spirit of Business Today Golf across major Indian cities.
03:48Beginning in Kolkata on 31st October, before moving to Chandigarh and Hyderabad in November.
03:54New Delhi will host the tournament on December 19th, followed by Chennai, Kochi and Mumbai in January.
04:00I think your mindset is changing is the biggest thing.
04:04Why? You looking after the other sports, not only business, that we need to make money, make money.
04:11No, I think to improve the money with sports, your responsibility, on behalf of all the sports,
04:18we want to say thank you very much, that you are taking our effort, that we will go to the
04:22other sports.
04:27With Kapil Deyev lending his legendary sporting presence, PGTI bringing its professional golfing expertise
04:34and Business Today carrying forward a tradition spanning more than a quarter century,
04:38the stage is set for another season of competition, connections and memorable moments.
