Ahead of the opposition alliance's mega rally at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital, the Trinamool Congress leadership held a meeting with the convener of the youth-led Cockroach Janata Party. Both sides extended mutual solidarity and confirmed full support for the upcoming opposition demonstration. Discussions focused on earlier youth protests at Jantar Mantar, previous arrests by the police, and joint concerns regarding the Election Commission. The youth organisation has backed the wider campaign, while party leaders engaged in communication and logistical coordination leading up to the protest event in Delhi.

00:05And our day before opposition's mega Ramleela Maidan rally,
00:10Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee met up with CJP Premier Abhijit Dipke in Delhi.
00:17Now the CJP or the Kokoro Janata Party has already extended its support to the India bloc
00:22for its mega campaign for tomorrow.
00:25And this meeting is also extremely interesting because Abhijit Dipke met up with India bloc leader.
00:32Mamata Banerjee today, what exactly does the meeting mean?
00:36What are the political connotations of it?
00:39There is much to analyze here.
00:41But let's listen to what Mamata Banerjee said about this meeting.
00:47We express our solidarity to their support.
00:50They also extended their support for the tomorrow's program.
00:53It is, I am so proud of them.
00:57Not only me, all the young generation students, they are the pioneers and they are the founders of this movement.
01:05So they have supported their, extended their full support for tomorrow's rally.
01:10We extended all support to them also.
01:13And we should not forget the pioneers of this movement, SIR, we are.
01:17And this election commission issue, they are the pioneers and they are the founders.
01:24That we must remember.
01:25I have come to say thank you for the time of this movement.
01:28Because as far as they have supported our first discussion, she was always stood strongly with the youth movement.
01:35So I just wanted to really, really thank her from the bottom of my heart.
01:38Also when Saurav and Ashutosh were arrested illegally by the Delhi police even then,
01:43Didi stood with us very firmly and that is why I just wanted to express my gratitude to her.
01:48And thank you, Didi, for supporting the youth of this country.
01:52Our protest today is going to be a full summit.
01:55We support that in solidarity.
01:59And joining us now is India Today's Amit Bharadwaj.
02:03Amit, how do you really analyze this meeting between Abhijit Dipke and Mahmata Banerjee in Delhi?
02:14I'm giving you, if you ask me, you know, this particular meeting was in the pipeline for quite a while.
02:19If you would remember the July movement as well, Mahmata Banerjee was expected to join Abhijit Dipke, Ashutosh and Saurav
02:27Dashe's platform, CJP's protest at Jantar Mantar.
02:30But the protest got over and Mr. Dharmain Pradhan had a step down.
02:35So that particular program was cancelled because before Mahmata Banerjee could release national capital, the agitation got over.
02:44So after that, there have been back-channel talks between the Federal Congress leadership, be it Mamata Banerjee or Abhijit
02:50Banerjee for that matter.
02:52I'm aware through my sources as to how these back-channel talks were happening.
02:57And many opposition parties had expressed their solidarity with the CJP.
03:02And because Mahmata Banerjee is in the national capital right now, for tomorrow's India Block rally at Ramil Ahmedan, you
03:12know, this particular meeting has been conducted.
03:15Derek O'Brien has also served as one of key communicators, rather, between CJP and the Federal Congress.
03:23But my sources have also confirmed me that even in the past, you know, there have been communications that were
03:29made through Mahmata Banerjee's office,
03:31as well as Abhishek Banerjee's office, expressing if at all, because there was a plan of CJP to go country
03:38-wide against CEC, Ganesh Kumar,
03:40have a long, you know, run-up of agitation and then come to the national capital.
03:45So, logistically as well and in terms of resources as well, as we have seen, several opposition parties coming together
03:52and extending their support in CEC to CJP.
03:55So, that communications were made.
03:56So, this meeting is happening eventually in the national capital a day before, rather than evening before the mega rally
04:05of the opposition at Ramilaga.
04:07Right. Thank you very much, Amit, for those details.
