00:00Control Resonant is a weird game, and for once with the Remedy Entertainment Joint,
00:04it's not all for reasons I like. There's still a lot to love about Control Resonant,
00:08some of it's carried over from the original Control, a basis of fantastic, supernatural
00:12worldbuilding revolving around the FBC and their investigations into unusual events.
00:16The game's pros include its gorgeous visual design, some stunning sequences,
00:20and the early game is pleasingly open. But it suffers from a repetitive combat encounter design,
00:25the world is spread very thin, and protagonist Dylan is no Jesse.
00:28Remedy has tried to improve the map from the first Control, but it remains rather confusing here.
00:33With so much elevation, and areas that shift gravity to overlay parts of an area,
00:37a top-down map doesn't always cut it. In the broad view,
00:40it might be for the best that Remedy continues to create unexpected games
00:43even across its sequels, though I finish this journey after 25 hours of playtime,
00:47wishing it had more of the restraint and tightness of the original game and its DLCs.
