00:06Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 most iconic moves across all of fighting game
00:13history.
00:20King's Mexican Magma Drive 2 Tekken Series
00:30If you have played Tekken online within the past decade or so, you know too damn well how devastating the
00:36Mexican Magma Drive 2 is.
00:39This is a chain throw King has that can delete most of your health bar in a matter of seconds.
00:47The only way of breaking the chain is by remembering which throws can be escaped by pressing 1 or 2.
00:53If you don't know any of your windows, well, you're just going to have to sit there and watch your
00:58character get ragdolled for a while.
01:00Either that, or you can scream in agony and crash out the same way Sandbag 18 did.
01:09Hayabusa's Izuna Drop, Dead or Alive Series
01:17For the most part, Dead or Alive doesn't have a ton of iconic moves compared to many other fighting games.
01:23Maybe Tina's Sky Twister Press, or Kasumi and Ayane's various kicks?
01:28For us, we would argue Ryu Hayabusa's Izuna Drop.
01:36The main reason this move has lived in our heads rent free is because of all the ways it's been
01:41used to erase health bars in an instant.
01:44If Hayabusa and his opponent are close enough to a ledge, he can Izuna drop them onto the next portion
01:50of the environment,
01:51which results in even more damage than a normal Izuna drop.
01:55And God have mercy on your soul if you're playing on a stage littered with explosive walls and floors.
02:04May's Dash Attack, the King of Fighters series
02:13Many gamers will remember Mai Shiranui for, well, other reasons not at all related to her fighting prowess.
02:21Nevertheless, those of us who do pay attention and focus on more important matters have seen her dash attack combo
02:27a countless number of times.
02:31Fan in mouth with a devastating elbow blow to the face.
02:35It's too good of a move when trying to close the distance with rivals or follow up with after a
02:40few good jabs.
02:41She even uses a launcher variation of this in Street Fighter 6 that makes her combos beautifully lethal.
02:48Chun-Li's Hundred Lightning Kicks, Street Fighter series.
02:59Some may remember Chun-Li's Helicopter Kicks more, but the Hundred Lightning Kicks move is arguably her most iconic move.
03:10Part of its infamy can be pointed to EVO moment number 37.
03:15This is the famous clip featuring Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara competing in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike.
03:21For those unfamiliar, this was a moment where Umehara managed to nail 15 consecutive parries against Chun-Li's Super Art
03:302, the dreaded Hoyokusen, which is just two rounds of Hundred Lightning Kicks.
03:42Umehara moved on to Grand Finals after this match, and the moment has haunted Wong ever since.
03:49Voldo's Mantis Crawl, Soul Calibur series.
03:59There are plenty of great moves throughout the Soul Calibur series, but Voldo's Mantis Crawl has been rent-free since
04:06the series' inception.
04:07It isn't because the move is highly damaging in any way.
04:10No, it is for the simple fact that it is among the weirdest things to witness in fighting games.
04:22Really, do any of you guys out there know of any other games where pelvic thrusting can launch peeps into
04:28the air, and crab walking attacks can result in death?
04:31I think not.
04:33Soul Calibur is the only fighting game to display this bizarre experience, and it haunts my dreams every now and
04:39again.
04:39You win!
04:42Liu Kang's Bicycle Kicks.
04:44Mortal Kombat series.
04:50For many of us Mortal Kombat fans, we have long remembered Liu Kang's Bicycle Kicks in more of a negative
04:56connotation.
04:57There have simply been way too many times where we've gone online, only for somebody to start spamming it when
05:03we're trying to have a legitimate fight.
05:11Seriously, does nobody realize how long this leaves you open when blocked?
05:15Later installments have eased up on Liu Kang's wails and tried to make it less damaging, but even today, we
05:22can still hear his incessant noises.
05:24That, and the sound of blood splattering everywhere.
05:31Heihachi's Demon Uppercut Tekken series.
05:38If King's infinite throw chains don't stick in your brain, then you're likely thinking about the Mighty Demon Uppercut.
05:45This is the legendary move that basically demonstrates how aggressive and difficult Tekken can truly be.
05:54In just a single punch, Heihachi can launch you high into the air, leaving you open long enough to think
06:01about how he's gonna follow up and juggle your dumb ass.
06:04Perhaps you'll have a chance to recover if you're in an open enough environment, but if you're close to a
06:09wall, may as well type GG and go next because you're getting juggled and likely dying to wall damage.
06:19Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch!
06:21Super Smash Bros. series.
06:26This is one of those moves that nearly everybody has tried performing in real life.
06:30Ever since the original Super Smash Bros. launched in 1999, the Falcon Punch has received more recognition than the series
06:38that Captain Falcon hails from.
06:39It's one of those moves where you can feel every ounce of power mustered up to unleash the fury of
06:45a fiery bird in a single blow.
06:48And man, if you can land the hit at the right opportunity, you can't help busting out in laughter from
06:54seeing your target get launched into the stratosphere.
07:02Scorpion Spear. Mortal Kombat series.
07:11Of any move we have seen in the Mortal Kombat games, this is the one nearly everybody on the planet
07:16knows.
07:17A dagger on a rope, lodged into a poor soul, followed by Scorpion dragging his foe to him and screaming,
07:24Get over here!
07:31We have all gestured the move at one point or another and we have all quoted it when playing games
07:37in other franchises.
07:38It's got such a distinct force and sound to it that it's become impossible to not know when it's being
07:45referenced.
07:52If you love games, be sure to check out WatchMojo's new game, Terrible Influence, just launched for purchase at TerribleInfluence
07:59.com.
08:00Terrible Influence is a satirical board game about the dark side of fame from the writer of the most popular
08:05girls in school and us, WatchMojo.
08:07Boom. I can make an apology video.
08:10Oh, you so would.
08:11Click on the link in the description to check out the game and be the first to play Terrible Influence.
08:16And lastly, Ryu's Haruken, Street Fighter series.
08:27We have all tried doing this before.
08:30The famous Haruken has become a staple for Street Fighter with many other fighting games,
08:36trying to reinvent it in some way, shape, or form.
08:39Alas, none of them come close to its power and impact.
08:43Whether you're doing a basic Haruken or attempting one of its more powerful variants,
08:47there is something adrenaline rushing about performing it in-game and reenacting it in real life.
08:57Of course, none of us will ever be able to perform such an ability in our lifetimes,
09:01but it's fun to pretend every once in a while, ain't it?
09:07Was there another iconic move from a fighting game that we might have missed?
