00:08Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 hardest bosses featured in
00:14Castlevania Belmont's Curse.
00:26The Fallen Between every boss in the game, The Fallen
00:36is the easiest of the bunch, but that is to be expected from the very first boss of the
00:40game. He only boasts four different attacks between a claw swipe combo, a cross projectile,
00:45and two moves that use his grappling whip. A simple moveset, yes, but no one anticipated
00:50how hard The Fallen can really hit. We have even seen some shocked reactions on social
01:05media as some players feel like they're getting their teeth kicked in here. Perhaps this was
01:09developer Motion Twin's way of saying that Belmont's Curse is not about to start holding your hand.
01:23Medusa
01:30Of the starting bosses that are keeping the catacombs sealed, Medusa is absolutely the toughest
01:35of the trio. While she can only attack a single platform, her tail can take up a ton of room
01:41at the
01:41bottom, leaving you with only one safe option for a safe space to breathe. She is extremely difficult
01:46to parry too, as her attacks have such an awkward timing to them. And if you aren't paying attention
01:52in your first attempt or two, you may find yourself turned to stone because of her screen-wide eyebeats.
02:06Just pace yourself and be mindful of where you're having Rose jump to.
02:16King Arthur
02:27King Arthur may seem like the dullest work of stained glass in Notre Dame. He doesn't even
02:32have that extensive of a moveset compared to The Fallen. But The Insane King can become a threat if
02:37you aren't careful. Sure, the simple thrusts and shots of glass are pretty easy to avoid,
02:42but Arthur's holy laser beams can quickly put you at death's door. More on death later.
02:55For many of us who weren't playing with a guide, we weren't sure how exactly somebody was supposed
03:00to deal with his laser beams when they take up so much space and fire off for so long. Well,
03:06the simple counter to him is to just simply master your parry. Once you can nail parrying
03:11the laser beams, Arthur becomes child's play.
03:24Carmilla
03:32Unlike the other bosses featured in Belmont's Curse, Carmilla does not care how big or small your health
03:38bar is. Her entire gimmick is centered around how many times she lands a hit on you. Rose will be
03:44cursed with a counter that starts at the number 8 and counts down to 0 whenever she is hit. Reach
03:500,
03:50and you die regardless of your remaining health. This is a fight that requires you to be attentive
03:55and balance your focus between breaking down Carmilla's skull shields and avoiding her waves of blood spikes.
04:02So long as you can find that perfect flow, the fight shouldn't be too much trouble for you. Hopefully.
04:18Talos
04:26Though you're given a big room to run and jump around in, Talos' chambers are only this spacious because of
04:33just how colossal he truly is. And he can take up a ton of space throughout his fight. Talos can
04:40send
04:40explosives that take up the majority of the room, and he can even pepper the area with fireballs,
04:45or coat it in waves of fire. But the biggest challenge you'll face is when you get him down
04:50to half of his health bar. You'll need to make the trek to another room, and the path is littered
04:56with giant
04:56smashing fists. You'll need to traverse this path a second time later, but under a stricter time limit.
05:08If you've gotten the air dash from Carmilla already, you might have an easier time here. Otherwise,
05:13better know your timing. The succubus
05:34At first, the succubus seems like she'll be a cakewalk. That's the vibe during the first third or quarter of
05:40her health bar. But it doesn't take much for her to start taking advantage of her
05:43illusion-conjuring powers. The succubus will soon start creating clones of herself that can dish out
05:49even more damage than she can alone. If you don't want to get caught in a guessing game of
05:54which one is the real succubus, you best make use of any weapons or arcanas that can inflict
06:00lingering damage, such as Carmilla's blood spikes or the vampire killer's burning holy fire.
06:06Her clones won't carry that ailment with them when conjured.
06:22Isaac
06:31Mind you, we are not talking about the first encounter with Isaac. Come on,
06:35we're not wasting time on a boss fight consisting of just throwing spears and teleporting behind the
06:40player for a lazy sneak attack. No, your second fight with Isaac, the real one, is a challenge.
06:47It is here that Isaac makes use of his time bending powers,
06:51leaving behind projections that repeat his attacks.
07:03It is crucial that you prioritize the projections, or else you may get overwhelmed by the constant
07:08follow-up attacks. Get them under control, and you'll have Isaac defeated in record time.
07:23Mammon
07:33This gold hoarding demon wheel can be a real challenge depending on when you decide to fight him.
07:38If you save him for last after retrieving all of the other arcanas, well, Mammon is nothing compared
07:44to a level 99 rose. But if you go for him before the last third of the arcanas, he is
07:49a force to be
07:50reckoned with. All of Mammon's attacks can inflict an insane amount of damage, and he gives very little
07:56time to breathe between attacks. You kind of have to play super defensively, or figure out a solid build
08:02that can take him down quickly. Hope you've been hunting for relics and weapons.
08:17Death
08:29Much like Isaac, your first encounter with death isn't exactly a boss fight,
08:33it's really just a story moment. The real fight is within Notre Dame, and it can be a brutal one.
08:39Death has an ability where one charged blast at close range can deplete almost all of Rose's health
08:45in a flash. It is thankfully easy to avoid if you just dash or dodge out of his range.
08:51Other than that, the big headache is when he starts telegraphing screen-wide slashes,
08:56and the closer he gets to dying, the more cuts he'll attempt in a single go.
09:11You'd probably have a good chance by making use of your whip attacks as much as possible.
09:17You'd probably have a good chance by making use of your whip attacks as much as possible.
09:26And lastly, Dracula.
09:43Well, color me surprised, the Dark Lord himself is the hardest boss in Belmont's curse,
09:48just as he is the hardest boss in pretty much every Castlevania game. And as he should be,
09:54given he is the final boss, you know? Dracula pulls some moves from the older games,
09:58like his fireballs and his Pillars of Hellfire, but his rendition here is much more focused on
10:04limiting your movement. Both of his forms will attempt to box you in, thus making it way harder
10:09to avoid his attacks. His second form can be incredibly devastating, thanks to a grab that
10:15allows him to land several hits on you before he finally lets you go.
10:26Well, you're likely to be dead by the time it's even over, so he ain't letting you go.
10:31Your best method in defeating him is to just max out your health and mana, and then spam Isaac's
10:36Arcanum as much as you can between his forms. That is the cheese method here, and it will save you
10:42some
10:42headaches. Have you managed to beat any of these bosses yourself? Let us know down in the comments,
10:59and don't forget to subscribe to MojoPlays.
