00:00I have loved animals as long as I can remember.
00:05This is Dr. Hassam Ahmed, a Palestinian veteran who is saving lives in Gaza.
00:09We have been friends on Instagram and very quickly I became moved by his story.
00:13Growing up with pets taught me mercy, but I also realized that animals don't have voice
00:21to speak and to show their pain.
00:24I become a fit to be a voice for them.
00:28I am a volunteer to provide free treatment and make food stations for animals.
00:34To me, Dr. Hassam is an inspiration.
00:37His home is completely destroyed and he himself has been displaced over 13 times during this
00:42crisis.
00:43Yet he still feels a deep responsibility towards these animals.
00:47My experience as a victim in Gaza crisis was not similar as a normal human because I have
00:52a duty toward these animals.
00:54When I saw animals suffering from lack of treatment, lack of vaccine, lack of food, I didn't do
01:02any help for this.
01:04And so every morning, Dr. Hassam would wake up and he'd be getting calls and messages about
01:08animals needing help and every day he would show up and do the best he can.
01:12He'd treat animals who were once part of families and live normal lives.
01:16When people are struggling to find even just one meal a day, animals are hungry too.
01:21And they depend on someone noticing and helping them.
01:24That's what really moved me about Dr. Hassam.
01:26He's struggling too, but he finds the compassion in himself to make sure that these animals are
01:31not forgotten.
01:32I would like my voice to reach all people around the world and I hope also support me to change
01:39situation here for animals and enter the drug and vaccines for all types of animals here
01:45in Gaza.
01:46Please consider supporting Dr. Hassam's work.
