Three rebel Aam Aadmi Party legislators in Punjab have resigned and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The legislators include Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, and Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, who resigned from the Amritsar North constituency. Responding to the crossover, Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal stated that the party had given due respect to the legislators and maintained that their departure was not a setback, remarking that people come and go in political organisations. Simultaneously, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed a public gathering in Patiala, hitting out at both the BJP and the Congress. Mann alleged that the BJP serves as an extension of the Congress, citing prominent former Congress leaders who had previously switched over to the saffron party. Mann further stated that those switching parties were betraying Punjab, observing that while the opposition parties appear to be at odds publicly, they often share personal ties.

00:16Ahmad Mipati says three rebels mustn't have gone to BJP.
00:20Ahmad Mipati's cabinet minister, Barinder Kumar Goyal's first reaction
00:26on the three of its MLAs joining BJP is now here.
00:30Minister Barinder says respect was given to the three MLAs.
00:34They should not have gone to BJP.
00:36But he also says the three MLAs leaving is not a setback for Ahmad Mipati.
00:42The party has given a lot of respect.
00:45The MLAs have given a lot of strength.
00:49They didn't have to do it like that.
00:52There is no setback in the party.
00:58The first reaction coming in from Minister Barinder who says that there was enough respect
01:03given to the three MLAs and they should not have gone to the BJP.
01:06The two sitting MLAs from Punjab joined the opposition Bhartiya Janata party.
01:11This is today.
01:12And among these incumbent legislators, Harman Harmeet Singh was there.
01:17Also Chetan Singh, Jurmurja was also there.
01:19Who's resigned from the ruling party on Sunday, November 1st.
01:23Now Kaur Vijay Pratap Singh, who also resigned as the MLA from the North Amritsar North constituency on Monday,
01:29has also joined the Saffron party as well.
01:33Let's quickly look at welcoming Kamaljeet Sandhu from Chandigarh to give us more details on the same.
01:40Kamaljeet, first up, the reaction coming in from Ahmad Mipati.
01:44This is the first reaction on the three MLAs now joining BJP, saying that of course they should have not
01:50done so,
01:51but there was enough respect given to these three MLAs.
01:54But how big a setback it is for Ahmad Mipati.
01:57The Ahmad Mipati president says that of course this is not a setback.
02:02But how would you see it this coming months ahead of the assembly elections in Punjab?
02:10Well, this is on expected lines, but let me tell you, not just Barinder Kumar Goyal,
02:14but also Bhagawan Tman in his public rally in Patiala has reacted to it, mocking the BJP.
02:21He said that BJP is not BJP as such, it's BJP in brackets, it's Congress.
02:27Because right from Sunil Jhakar to Ravneet Bittu to Manpreet Badal,
02:33they all came from Congress party, so says this is more of Congress than the BJP itself.
02:40So clearly hitting out at BJP at a point of time where three of his own MLAs have exited the
02:46party
02:47and joined the Saffron party.
02:49Now how it looks like is in a 170 constituency, 92 was with the Ahmadinejad party,
02:57then they won another two by poll.
02:59So that is how the numbers increased to 94.
03:02Now BJP had only two MLAs, but now that they are trying to up the ante against the Ahmadinejad party,
03:08this is when they've sharpened the particular attack,
03:12and particularly, especially talking about the NDA alliance.
03:15Now Amit Shah was in Chandigarh, and that's where he actually reiterated the entire idea.
03:20So they're trying to focus and bring the Ahmadinejad party to its knees,
03:24particularly on issues of law and order, and particularly on issues of drugs.
03:29So this is going to be a multi-party contest.
03:32But interestingly, BJP taking on Ahmadinejad party,
03:36and significantly the ruling party also hitting back at the center.
03:40Absolutely. Stay on with us, Kamaljeet.
03:42We have another breaking news coming in amid all-out rebellion in the Ahmadinejad party in Punjab.
03:47C.M. Bhagwant Man has attacked the BJP.
03:50Bhagwant Man has said that BJP is a mere extension of Congress.
03:53Bhagwant Man has also said that BJP and Congress are at odds in public, but friends internally.
03:59Those are the statements coming in from Bhagwant Man.
04:01Also, he has said that those switching parties are betraying Punjab.
04:06This is what C.M. Bhagwant Man has said.
04:08He's taken a sharp dig at party switchers during a rally in the village of Mandoli,
04:14and stated that the BJP is merely an extension of Congress,
04:17and noted that while they may appear to be at odds in public,
04:21they embrace each other at weddings and social gatherings as well.
04:25Kamaljeet, how do you see those statements coming in from Bhagwant Man?
04:31This after, particularly Manpreet Badal, who is the national vice president,
04:35whose daughter got married, and the wedding happened in Chandigarh,
04:40but definitely there were the links of Karan Singh from JNK.
04:44His son got married.
04:46So this is where this is being drawn as to how those who were invited in the list
04:51were of Congress and BJP politicians.
04:56None of the Ahmadi party, Neta, was seen at the wedding,
04:58and that's when the first remark came in from Bhagwant Man
05:02that he was not really invited.
05:03But today, when Ahmadi party saw exit of three of its own embellies,
05:07it was a time to reiterate and hit out at BJP.
05:11And obviously, this is how they've been saying,
05:13because Congress has hit back,
05:15and they often call Ahmadi party the B team of BJP,
05:17and this is what Ahmadi party does to Congress as well.
05:20So meanwhile, what we can say is,
05:23it's going to be an interesting turn of events,
05:25and Diwali is some time away,
05:27but there are fireworks in Punjab already.
05:30Absolutely.
05:31Thanks a lot, Kamaljeet, for getting us all of those details.
