fourth quiet post on The Dragon King's Forbidden Maid, and it's about a light left on.
There's a kitchen window visible from the courtyard. For a long stretch of episodes it's dark. Then it's lit, late, when the rest of the palace is asleep.
Nobody in the show mentions it. It's just there, the only warm rectangle in a cold exterior shot, and it means somebody is eating alone at an hour when nobody can see them do it.
That went on for six years and no one in that building ever looked up.
✨ What worked for me:
- The window is always out of focus. Always background.
- No scene inside that kitchen is ever shown at that hour.
✨ Bottom line: a house can be full of people and still leave someone eating alone in the dark.
Whose light stays on in your building?
