00:00Good morning, Anthony Frances Latorre,
00:02on the channel Esport3.
00:04There are three goals and five assists this season.
00:07I would like to give you a value of what has been your adaptation to the Barça,
00:11and what do you think or do you think you want to improve your level?
00:18Out of ten?
00:22No, I would say maybe seven, seven and a half.
00:25I've said before I've started quite well, considering it's a new country for me,
00:33it's a big change, a new team, it's been a massive change for me, my family,
00:38everything that comes with moving club, but like I said, moving country is the biggest part.
00:43So I've started well, but like I've said numerous times since I've been here,
00:47I can do a lot more.
00:49I think it will take some time for me to really grow, feel settled,
00:52and then when this happens, I think you'll see the very best of me,
00:57which you definitely haven't seen so far.
01:02Hi, Gordon, here.
01:04I wanted to ask you about Aston Villa,
01:06a team that you know and you've played against them in the Premier League.
01:10What do you think of Unai Emery team?
01:12I don't know if you're able to speak in English, Gabriel.
01:15What do you think of Unai Emery team?
01:20Aston Villa?
01:23No, they're a very good team, very good.
01:26I played against them a couple of times, I had mixed success.
01:32They have a great coach, one of the best in the world right now,
01:34I think he's had a lot of success in his career.
01:37And they have some great players.
01:39I know they're on a great run as of late,
01:43so it's going to be a difficult game.
01:46They're the type of team that regardless of the game,
01:48they're always in the game, they're waiting for a moment
01:51and they seem to always be ready for any type of game.
01:55So we know it will be a tough challenge,
01:57but very excited for what's to come in this game.
02:01Thank you very much.
02:04Bon dia, Anthony.
02:07Aquí darrere Anaïs Martí de La Vanguardia.
02:15Anaïs Martí de La Vanguardia.
02:16Et volia preguntar per com portes la competència amb ADM
02:19i us aneu intercanviant l'extrema esquerra.
02:22I qui t'està ajudant més en aquests primers mesos
02:25a adaptar-te a dins i fora del camp dels teus companys?
02:28Gràcies.
02:34To be honest, I only ever compete with myself.
02:37I don't look for anyone else.
02:39No other man's success or failure affects my life.
02:42In the end, I think this is a very narrow-minded way
02:45to think if you are this type of person.
02:48Like I said, I'm not.
02:49I focus on myself, the best I can do.
02:51If I play 90 minutes or five minutes,
02:54I try to be the best version of me in those minutes.
02:58As far as adapting,
03:00I think everybody has made me feel really welcome.
03:02Everybody has been really nice
03:04because we have a great culture here, very friendly,
03:07very lively because everyone is so young.
03:10So it's quite fun to be a part of.
03:13I would say mainly the English speakers, in terms of Eric,
03:17the ones who can help me sometimes.
03:19I understand most things, but sometimes when I don't,
03:22it's nice to have that rebound where they can help me a little bit.
03:25I think that's a good question.
03:30Here, Anthony.
03:31I have a director of the Sport.
03:33You always have the importance of the mental aspect of the job.
03:37You say that it's more important to be consistent mentalment,
03:41even if you're the talent,
03:42which is something less inconsistent.
03:44I would like to know if you continue working on a mental level here in Barcelona,
03:50how do you do it?
03:52And what has cost you more on a psychological level
03:57to adapt to a club like the Barça in relation to Newcastle?
04:06To be consistent mentally
04:08is obviously the biggest challenge in football or maybe in life,
04:13not just footballers, for people in any line of work.
04:16It's really hard to be consistently the very best version of yourself.
04:20But I try to do the things that work for me.
04:23Like I said, that's different for everyone.
04:24That looks different.
04:25But for me, it's having a good routine, reading books,
04:28really pushing myself in training,
04:31practicing, staying longer.
04:33They're the type of things that make me better, more consistent.
04:35So I try to do these as best and as often as I possibly can.
04:41The challenge of joining Barça is different to what I've had before,
04:44because I was fighting relegation for two, three years, which was tough.
04:50At Newcastle, we were fighting for maybe Champions League and to push up the table.
04:54And now I'm fighting with Barça for every trophy.
04:57So I've had three very different challenges as far as the teams that I played for.
05:03I really enjoyed all three because they come with different things.
05:08They help you as a person, help you grow.
05:09But I think to be competing on every front for every trophy is definitely the most enjoyable.
05:14I think people think it's more pressure.
05:17But it's actually better pressure than fighting relegation
05:20and fighting to push up the table for Champions League,
05:23because ultimately I want to win every trophy.
05:26I want to be the best version of me and this club allows me to do so.
05:30And that's it, and I love your family.
05:33They have a great plan for players.
06:19Yeah, I think maybe sometimes I can be a little bit more selfish, dribble, shoot more, and this for me
06:23is quite a big focus, I can definitely score more goals, and like I said, the reality is goals win
06:30games, and I'm here to win trophies, so if I can score as many goals as possible, I'm helping the
06:35team in the best way possible.
06:42Here's Joan Dovenac from The Periódico.
06:44The Barça game has lost two games from all the players. Are they against two teams that are at the
06:50same level of the Barça, or maybe they're superior to what they say in the results, or do you think
06:54it's it?
07:00No, I don't think they're above, I think we have to take responsibility for both losses because they're the two
07:09biggest games we've played so far this season and we lost, but I don't think they're above us, I think
07:15we're a fantastic team, and on any given day we can beat anybody.
07:19I think in these two games, I think the PSG game has a bit of context because they played against
07:24Man City, and then on the weekend in their league they rested their whole team, we didn't have this privilege,
07:31so we were really tired in the game, which is normal, which is fine, we still have to take responsibility,
07:37but I think they had a massive advantage with this.
07:41At Madrid, of course, this is the one game, the most important game that we want to win. For me,
07:47we should have, I think we're the much better team, in the game we had all the ball, all the
07:51possession, better chances, but I just think we were a slight bit off our best game.
07:59And ultimately, in the end, this cost us, we conceded two very, very bad goals, and against this kind of
08:06opposition and kind of player, this level of player, it can really hurt you in these games, so we'll learn
08:12for next time, but I'm really excited to play these type of teams again to show what we can do.
08:20Hi, Anthony here, Paul Woller from The Athletic, you have talked about nice pressure here, can you walk us through
08:27getting used to these new levels of demands and the quality in your teammates, because you've mentioned in the past
08:34examples, you're surrounded with players now that see your runs, just like Pedri, I think you mentioned in that interview,
08:41you play alongside Rafinha from Yamal as well,
08:45so if you can walk us through examples of how has it been for you to get adjusted to those
08:50new levels of quality.
08:57It's difficult because, again, it's not about them, it's me adjusting to this team, to the environment, to the culture,
09:03I'm still getting used to certain players, tendencies, what kind of passes they make, so for me, depending on the
09:13player,
09:13I make different kind of runs because I kind of know whether they're going to pass in the position they
09:18have the ball, so it will take time, I've only been here two and a half months, maybe three months,
09:23so I haven't had long to get used to it, and I think so far, like I said, I've adapted
09:29quite well, but can still do much more and give them more time, I definitely will do so.
09:40Hello, good morning, Mari Carmen Torres from the Diario Marca. You said you've been adapted yet, you've been three months
09:46here. What's the most surprised you, both of the city and of the club? What's the most shocked you culturally
09:53from Inglaterra to Spain? Thank you.
10:00Everything is completely different. It's my first time ever living outside of England, moving outside the country, so I think
10:09that is a massive part, getting used to everyday life in another country is very different, but I'm very lucky
10:15because this is a very beautiful country, has great weather, great food, and most importantly, great people who are really
10:23friendly.
10:23I think that's been the biggest surprise for me, is that the team I play in has a lot of
10:29incredible players who could have really big egos, but they don't, they're really friendly,
10:34really welcoming, and very humble, so for me that's been the most pleasant part, is to see that so many
10:41players can be on this kind of level and remain humble.
10:44I think that's a bit more.
10:44I think that's a bit more.
10:45I think that's a bit more.
11:06Jo volia preguntar-te si tu has vist fotos d'aquestes pancartes,
11:10què t'assemblen i què significa que per tu, amb només uns mesos aquí a Barcelona,
11:14ja tinguis aquesta connexió amb l'agrada del Camp Nou.
11:16Merci.
11:21No, I love it.
11:22I think, as footballers, in the end, we come and go.
11:25There will be new football players that will replace me.
11:27I replaced the players who were here before me.
11:30It's normal, but this is really what life is about in the end.
11:34It's about relationships, memories, things that last, the way people make you feel.
11:39And so far, they've made me and my family feel so happy and so welcome.
11:43Like I said, to have this connection in two, three months, I didn't expect.
11:47I don't think it's normal, but believe me, it makes me a really, really happy person.
11:53And it makes me want to do more, more for the club, for them,
11:57because of the love and support that they've shown me so far.
12:01I love playing at home, I love going into our stadium,
12:04and every time I walk onto the pitch before the game,
12:07and I take in my surroundings and interact with as many people as I can,
12:12because, like I said, they've shown me a lot of love and support,
12:14and hopefully I'll be able to repay that with goals and a lot of trophies.
12:20Anthony, por acá, Enzo Oliveira para TNT Sports, para México.
12:25This question is a little out of context, but it has to do with your moment.
12:29A long time ago, you said that that experience in the World against Mexico,
12:33in that incredible matchup, was your best experience in football.
12:37Can you compare something with what you've experienced in this Barcelona,
12:41whether in the league, in the Champions,
12:43or in that matchup, the most important matchup,
12:47the most important matchup?
12:50And very short, Javier Aguirre had a moment with you in that matchup.
12:55You know what I mean?
12:56Yes, I remember the matchup.
12:56It was very viral.
12:58You recently presented him as a Valencia coach in Spain,
13:00he was going to be in the 31st of January of Spain.
13:02He said it was a nonsense, it was a moment of the game.
13:05He even said he would like to send a photo of his parents.
13:09What do you remember about that moment?
13:14I remember very well.
13:18For me, this matchup is still the best of my life.
13:22Just the context of how much pressure there was on the game,
13:26how much excitement there was.
13:28We heard so much noise about the altitude, the stadium, the atmosphere.
13:32It's still a loudest noise that I think I ever heard when they sang their national anthem.
13:36So this will stick with me forever.
13:39I think the way we won with 10 men, the way I won the penalty when we had 10 men,
13:45there was just so much emotion involved.
13:47This will live with me forever.
13:49Hopefully, I can have these kind of experiences here also when we win trophies
13:53and maybe some experiences will surpass it in the future.
13:56But for now, that is definitely still number one.
13:58The coach.
14:01The coach, that was a great interaction.
14:04I think one that people really liked.
14:06It went viral, I think.
14:07So it was really fun.
14:09It was no malice, just a joke in the moment.
14:12And what made it better was, like I said, there was so much tension, pressure, animosity within the game.
14:18And then he makes a joke on the side, like we're playing in the park.
14:22It was really good moments, really funny.
14:25And yeah, he seems like a really good guy.
14:27And I'll sign whatever he likes.
14:31Dos últimas preguntas.
14:34Hi Anthony, just here in front of you, Sam Larsen with ESPN.
14:37In the recent international break, you spoke about perhaps people back in England
14:41not appreciating certain elements of your game.
14:43Obviously, every game here is a chance for you to sort of prove that sort of, you know,
14:47that line of thinking wrong.
14:49I don't know, obviously, you know, PSG, Classico, big game.
14:51But the fact, tomorrow is against the Premier League side.
14:53I don't know how much that's a factor as well to motivate you even more
14:56for tomorrow's game at Camp Nou.
14:59Yeah, do you know when I said that?
15:00I didn't actually mean, like, people were judging me wrong.
15:04I just meant that they'd never seen me in a system that could highlight these qualities.
15:09Like I said before, I played in three very different styles of team.
15:13That probably shows the intelligence I'm talking about to be able to succeed
15:17in all three.
15:19But I wasn't saying, like, people judge me wrong or they have a negative perspective on me.
15:23That wasn't what I was saying.
15:24I was purely saying that they hadn't seen me in this kind of system before,
15:28which I think now is helping them appreciate me a little bit more, which is normal.
15:34And what was the second part of the question?
15:35Do you have any chances for them to see that against Aston Villa tomorrow?
15:39Yeah, and, listen, English teams are very, very physical.
15:43And I've played against Aston Villa before.
15:45They're one of the most physical teams in the league.
15:47They've got some great players.
15:50I'm always motivated the same.
15:53Certain things can motivate me more than others.
15:55But I try to remain the same.
15:57I try to remain consistent with my motivation.
16:00So, yeah, the fact that English doesn't make it more motivating for me.
16:08Hi, Anthony.
16:09Just picking up on something you said earlier about you've been reading to improve yourself.
16:13What books have you been reading and how have they helped you?
16:17I've read since young.
16:18I've spoke about this a lot of times.
16:21I read books on a variety of things.
16:24I mainly try and stick to non-fiction and things that will better me in real life.
16:29But reading just helps me calm down.
16:32It helps me kind of just regulate and really be still for a minute.
16:36Because in the world today, if you scroll on TikTok and Instagram and you're watching a movie,
16:41your mind's just constantly in a blur.
16:43That's the way I see it.
16:45I really struggle with that.
16:46If I'm on my phone too much or I'm watching TV too much, I really go into a blur.
16:52So reading and meditating and maybe going on a walk,
16:56them type of things, connecting with nature,
16:58they really help me just calm down and actually be present,
17:01enjoy my surroundings and enjoy my life a little bit more,
17:05be a little bit more grateful.
17:06Because when you're in that wheel of dopamine addiction and you're scrolling,
17:12you come away from what's important, I think.
