00:03Actor Imran Khan's Leave India controversy has recently taken a slight turn after today's
00:09hearing at the Mumbai High Court, who stated that the actor should be given an opportunity
00:13if he apologises for his act. The Mumbai High Court on Monday continued interim protection
00:19to actor Imran Khan, keeping the FRRO's Leave India notice stayed until the next
00:25hearing, which is scheduled for December 7. The court has asked the actor to submit an
00:31unconditional apology for allegedly violating the OCI rules, making it clear that a simple
00:36undertaking wouldn't be enough. During the hearing, the court also questioned the actor's
00:42participation in the protest despite holding an OCI card. It observed that Imran's celebrity status
00:48and public influence made his conduct in the protest more significant. While the court also
00:54warned him that such incident shouldn't be repeated. The actor also expressed that he had no affiliation
01:00with any protest groups and is willing to give any undertakings required.
01:06Khan's lawyer also stated that the FIR does not mention any specific allegations against him
01:11and that the offences listed are available in nature. While the FRRO maintained that Khan's US
01:19citizenship is undisputed and that it has full authority against the OCI violation. Whereas,
01:27the court took a soft stance. Noting the actor's long-term residence in India, the Bombay High Court
01:33said that he deserves a chance if he apologises and submits an undertaking. Even invoking the Sanskrit
01:40face Vasudevya, Vasudevya, Kutumbukam which means the word is one family.
