00:00This is the Fujifilm Instax PAL2 digital camera and it doesn't just look cute, it's a sensory
00:05overload. Dinky enough to slip into a pocket, the PAL2 has characterful and audible controls
00:10such as a clicky wind lever on the right to select your Instax format from mini, square,
00:15wide or no border at all. This smooth dial on the left of the camera runs through six
00:20vintage picture styles including soft, flare and mono. A joystick is set within the dial
00:25and navigates menus. You can activate an LED flash, self timer or choose the display mode on its one
00:30inch LCD waist level screen. Want the full retro experience? Use the cutout viewfinder instead.
00:36And when you're done taking pictures you can wirelessly connect to your phone by Bluetooth
00:39and the Instax PAL app for image uploads and easy sharing. Though the PAL2 app wasn't launched at
00:45the time I shot this video. The PAL2 truly is another chapter in the fun Fujifilm cameras playbook
00:50that also includes the Fujifilm X-HALF, Instax Mini Evo Cinema and the original PAL.
00:55For me the camera's strengths are down to how it looks and feels. It's the other elements where it
01:00falls short. 10 megapixel photos and 10 frame animation sequences in this otherwise photo only
01:05camera are super lo-fi. Shutter lag is a major frustration and battery life is poor. Then there's
01:10the price point. $170 or £150 for what is a toy camera albeit a feature packed one that kicks Kodak
01:17tomorrow but is hard to get past. It's a shame really because the PAL2 is otherwise an easy
01:21recommendation. Personally I'm just waiting for the price to come down. You can find out
