00:03Hello, join us. We go live to Venezuela. The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela is offering
00:10statements. Let's listen.
00:12To the opposition leaders who are returning to the country, we wish that they add themselves into the spirit that
00:21currently is being felt in Venezuela.
00:25I invite you to see this. The great majority of those opposition leaders who are returning, they left Venezuela, and
00:34when they were leaving, they said that they were politically persecuted, that they had a capture warrant.
00:47And I've been accused of this and that. And now you can see that they are returning to the country
00:57and nothing has happened. So someone was telling lies to their own people.
01:02The true thing is that the majority of those who left had links with the sector that administered the money
01:14of Venezuelans.
01:16And they were enjoying that money from abroad. And that is a true fact. And they are coming here as
01:25a kid because it is part of our work.
01:29They are taking pictures. They are being received by I don't know how many people that are at the airport.
01:38The great majority of Venezuelans ask themselves who this person is.
01:43When you can see in social media that certain person returns to the country. Who is he?
01:50Who is he? Where did he came from? The great majority of Venezuelans ask themselves this question. Then they left
01:58in a very silent way. And they leave our country. And they stay abroad for another month.
02:06And when they come back, they do this in a silent manner so no one finds out because they have
02:14their own interests abroad, not within Venezuela. And they come here, they have opposed to us all of their lives.
02:22But they come to those opposition leaders who remain in Venezuela. I'm not a personal friend of any of them.
02:33But they are seeing the opposition leaders participating in the political life of Venezuela that are doing a political life
02:42in Venezuela.
02:43Some of them decided to return and join themselves and join those sectors afterwards. Well, of course, to do a
02:55political, to be part of the political life of the country. They are fulfilling their old ideas.
03:00And it is being, it is a very difficult scenario for them because we have a build up agenda based
03:09on consensus. For example, the dialogue table. There the national government is, the Bolivar Revolution, with a group of us
03:19there that are spokespersons.
03:23And we have opposition sectors. They are present as well, represented. Those who are returning to the country can declare
03:32whatever they want. But those who are returning to the country are sticking to the day of the same, no,
03:40my pardon, the day of the dead. What for?
03:44What for? What for? For that table to have no results, no positive results for the country. That is the
03:52reason behind the return, to try to impress, to try to put pressure on our country for us not to
04:01achieve the positive steps that we want to achieve.
04:04Because time, times have changed. Times have changed. It is common to see every, in every corner to see an
04:14antelope going after a dog.
04:19Because we have broken a disguise. Now anyone has the right to speak and claim. Where were you the past
04:36three years? Where were you in the past year?
04:40Because you haven't been accountable. Because you haven't been accountable about the money that you stole from abroad.
04:46And in our meetings, on a daily basis, 100,000 ideas to keep moving forward for this country.
04:55On a daily basis, we have meetings and activities. Well, the meetings are of confrontation and there is no way
05:04to change that.
05:04They are going to be struggling and facing each other without remedy.
05:11Well, thank you very much to everyone. To the journalists that came here today, we thank your presence. We keep
05:20working.
05:21We have a new national deployment. National deployment throughout Venezuela on December to take advantage, the fullest advantage of December
05:36to keep moving forward for this country.
05:41Those who promulgate hatred are not going to affect our country.
05:48Well, the hatred that those people unleashed upon the people of La Guayra has no comparison with anything.
05:58They were laughing at the tragedy of La Guayra people. That is a terrible tragedy.
06:06Facts and times gave the reason to the heroic people of the state of La Guayra.
06:11Well, we will be like La Guayra. Whatever happens, in any circumstance, we will prevail.
06:21Merry Christmas. Those were the statements at this hour from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela Secretary General, Diosdado Cabello.
06:30He was in a press conference offering statements regarding the opposition leaders who have returned to the country with the
06:36idea of hampering, of jeopardizing the process of political dialogue that is taken nationwide in a process as well of
06:44national reunification,
06:45of thinking as well on the well-being of the people. Stay tuned with Telesur English for more details on
06:50this matter.
