00:05and three rows of luxurious comfort experience amazing at your lexus dealer so dolphins wire
00:10in usa today did studs and duds from the dolphins game there's one for me breakout stud even though
00:18they lost the game there was a guy who had a breakout game and there was a portion of the
00:22game where i was calling it his game do you uh do you know who it would be chop chop
00:27robinson yes
00:28chop robinson was one of the studs it says robinson has been getting pressure somewhat consistently
00:33this year but it hasn't turned into a ton of sacks for the former first round pick that changed on
00:38sunday as he took down drake may twice in the loss once at the end of the first half once
00:44on the first
00:44drive out of the break the dolphins need more of that and dolphins wire has one other stud listed
00:52for yesterday and it's jacob rodriguez rodriguez finished the day with the second most tackles
00:57for miami's defense with eight jordan brooks had 11 however the rookie made this list for his
01:03forced fumble that led to the dolphins first points of the game the peanut punch is what rodriguez
01:09perfected at texas tech and if he can do it successfully in miami the defense will benefit
01:15greatly we got one he doesn't play like a rookie right i was just gonna say for a rookie to
01:23be able
01:23to peanut punch worry about turnovers not just getting the guy on the ground it's not too big
01:27for him you're not playing the the division rival patriots you're going out there playing football we
01:32really jacob rodriguez like i said i i was i had a problem with everybody calling him the next zach
01:38thomas i still don't want that to be said but we have a 10 year miami dolphin linebacker if they
01:45keep
01:45him around he can play football boy what number pick was he second round second round pick um for
01:55the miami dolphins it was pick number 43 i mean how how often in the nfl do you have a
02:03number 43 overall
02:05pick like a second round pick where you can say seven games into his rookie season that guy is for
02:12sure an nfl caliber starter not not not many doesn't happen often right i mean i i'd really
02:20have to go back and look but i feel like that doesn't happen very often first of all a lot
02:24of
02:24times you're not starting i mean the dolphins are starting a lot of rookies so just by happenstance
02:31you get to find out but how many times do you do i mean literally through seven games where you
02:36go
02:36that guy is an nfl caliber starter seven games into his career and he's a second round pick
02:43if there are some teams and hell but the dolphins couldn't they couldn't take a linebacker at whatever
02:4811 when they took proctor but yeah there's a lot of teams that are probably kicking themselves in the
02:53butt right now saying how the hell do we let jacob rodriguez drop to 43 you're right you know what
02:58if
02:58you redid the draft now after having played seven games in the nfl he's a first round pick like slam
03:05dunk first round pick oh look i forget what his knock was because i remember saying he's little
03:10and then i met him and i'm like if that's little then i think i'm little too because he's a
03:14big old
03:15dude i don't know what his knock was coming out but he was an all-american like he was crazy
03:19did he
03:20have a criticism coming out solana truthfully i don't remember what like what the biggest knock
03:25on him was other than his size like that's what i that that really stands out to me was just
03:30his size
03:31um but yeah man i mean he's a first round pick it's not even close right he is legit legit
03:38um and
03:39then in dolphins wire a few duds from yesterday the offensive line jonah savai naya had a tough time
03:45against the patriots especially early on as defensive lineman cory durden was eating him alive
03:52the unit as a whole is partially responsible for willis's five sacks as well as the lackluster day
03:58for miami on the ground hopefully things will look more cohesive if caden proctor can return
04:02for week nine from his concussion uh ticket wizard the former ticket wizard barry um he texted me i mean
04:11within five minutes of that game getting underway savai naya is getting eaten alive like it was it was
04:19pretty obvious yeah he had a bad game yep at least early on yeah no no that's that's there that's
04:26what
04:26they're gonna see them big them big interior linemen are going to you know try to dominate
04:31savai naya they're not gonna go to proctor side they're gonna let me go get that little money over
04:35there that's easy money and that's what's gonna happen to them another dud from uh dolphins wire
04:40ollie gordon as previous men previously mentioned the dolphins had a tough game on the ground especially
04:45for a rushing attack that's consistently gone over 100 yards this season gordon being miami's leading
04:51back got most of the work and was fairly inefficient rushing for just 69 yards on 3.6 yards per
04:58attempt
04:59even that was aided by an 11 yard run on the final drive when new england was fine with giving
05:04up
05:05anything on the ground to kill the clock probably more importantly was the penalty that he got called
05:11for ended up in a little i don't want to say shouting match with jeff halfley but a little bit
05:17of a
05:17shouting match with malik willis on the sideline yeah i heard malik talk about it he was like i have
05:23to say something to him you heard the team i i 100 agree with malik and it's not like you
05:28just won
05:28the game ali get your ass back to the huddle what are you doing i uh i watched that argument
05:34on the
05:34sideline with malik and ali and i could read ali gordon's lips at the end he said i effed up
05:41he used the
05:42actual word but i mean it was clear his day he said i effed up after malik had like you
05:47know told
05:48him what he thought i i had a ton of respect for malik willis when he talked about that in
05:54the post
05:54game i thought that was like i thought that was stand up he was like yeah i had to let
05:59him know
05:59like that's unacceptable that's the thing about good leaders good or bad i can pat you on your back but
06:04i
06:04can also also get after your tail if i need to and you know what ali let's be honest ali
06:09gordon was
06:09probably frustrated because like we talked about they were going to stack the hell out the box and
06:14say you're not running this ball and they did exactly what they did not want to do is not be
06:19able to run the ball yeah over the last four weeks since he's taken over the position he's top five
06:24in
06:24the nfl and rush yards and then against a team that is a bit vulnerable against the rush he was
06:31probably
06:31expecting to come in and have the exact same success he had the weeks prior especially in a game where
06:36the
06:36conditions were what they were and it didn't work out that way and all of a sudden you're winning
06:41the game and then you're down after giving up 14 unanswered in the third quarter like that was just
06:46a boneheaded play by a young player but yeah the quote from malik willis i was just letting letting him
06:51know in that situation he's dead ass wrong that's the honest truth and he was and so two things you
06:57said to a young player and also what's happened over the last month he's walked into a big piece of
07:02this offense he walked into the the bell cow and so now you're going and he's preparing is i'm gonna
07:07have 25 carries and i'm gonna hit him 400 again and then you start getting your ass wore out for
07:12two
07:12quarters and you start questioning yourself and he's a puppy too like that had something to do with
07:16the frustration as well and one final dud on dolphins wire chris johnson's sack attempt johnson was fine
07:25coverage for the most part but the first round pick had one of the worst plays of the game while
07:31rushing the passer on fourth and four the dolphin sent johnson on a blindside blitz he had made dead
07:38to rights but he seemed to just fall to the ground instead of trying to hit the quarterback i was
07:46in
07:47live real time flabbergasted i i looked at laurie and i said why didn't he tackle may like i i
07:55thought
07:55maybe i missed something like i i couldn't figure it out and now that you've watched it 1800 times on
08:01social media i still don't know what happened there it i almost felt as if it was muscle memory
08:09from training camp when they tell you don't touch a quarterback and we know it's a sack i i almost
08:17felt like it was that he was like yeah i got him and and crumpled up into a ball on
08:22the ground i i don't
08:23know what happened oh it was it's one of the weirdest thing i've ever seen on a football field
08:30like is he is what did he gamble on the game that was just my first thought was what is
08:39going on
08:40here because that's ridiculous i would guess if i have to explain it he's never had a blindside shot
08:46on anybody before but i mean aren't you waiting your entire career for that oh i'm no i'm now i'm
08:53digging deep because i don't know how you play to this level and never get a blindside shot
08:57on somebody blitzing off the edge on his blind side from the right side of the office i just don't
09:02know
09:03what he was doing and then i want to say oh maybe you know maybe drake gave him a little
09:07you know like
09:07made a little move or stepped up and he's trying to change his launch point he just fell on the
09:12ground
09:12i don't know what happened was bizarre man that was bizarre we'll ask chris perkins about it
09:18in the four o'clock hour
