00:00It has some good football games.
00:02Yeah.
00:04It, like, y'all didn't want to listen.
00:09What are you talking about?
00:10Saturday.
00:11When you say y'all, I don't think you're y'all.
00:13I think you're saying me.
00:14I didn't want to listen.
00:15Pretty much.
00:16Pretty much.
00:17Pretty much.
00:18I said, I said.
00:19I just don't think you're appropriate.
00:21Hold on.
00:22Let's repeat.
00:22I appreciate that, Tobin.
00:24Um, I said it was going to be a little.
00:32I will say, though, your analysis wasn't exactly spot on because you said they were going to
00:38have something for the Canes defensively, which they did not.
00:41I mean, the Canes could do whatever they wanted offensively.
00:44No, it's not.
00:46It's not that what I would.
00:48Here's what I thought would happen.
00:50Bill Belichick's going to try to take one player out.
00:52Now, if the Canes adjust quickly, everything runs smoothly, right?
00:58If it doesn't, it's going to take a while.
01:02And that's kind of what happened.
01:04It had nothing to do with talent or anything like that.
01:07Yeah, but it wasn't.
01:07He didn't take anybody away.
01:08What it was was deep.
01:09I mean, it was a shootout.
01:11Right.
01:12But it didn't really like nothing.
01:15Nothing offensively went against the Canes way.
01:17You know what I mean?
01:18Okay.
01:19It was a close game, just not how you thought it would be close.
01:22It was that North Carolina basically was going against Swiss cheese the entire day.
01:27Okay.
01:28Shades of Syracuse.
01:29There you go.
01:29A couple years ago.
01:30Football analysis, folks.
01:32That's just what happened.
01:33Do you disagree with that analysis?
01:35You don't want to know why?
01:36You can.
01:37Go ahead.
01:37But I'm just letting you know that was what you said going into the week.
01:40No, I mean, look.
01:42What happens, all I can actually 100% tell you about is what Bill Belichick does defensively.
01:50Right?
01:51The other side of the ball is a crapshoot because we just, the Canes just played Florida State and a
01:57guy had his lifetime achievement award during the Canes game.
02:01He hadn't played that well ever.
02:03So there's that.
02:06I was a little concerned that you were right about one thing.
02:10I was like, yikes.
02:12What, what, you know, what's the defense doing?
02:16I was trying to kind of see if it was something, you know what I mean, something that they were
02:23doing in that game that gave them problems.
02:26And I came to this conclusion.
02:29In all of football, at every level, there's a premium on one position now.
02:34And every year it changes.
02:36You know, usually everybody says you need a quarterback.
02:38Usually everybody says you need a pass rusher.
02:41But pay attention to this in the near future in all levels of football.
02:45The tight end is making a comeback.
02:48Like, nobody can seem to cover a tight end in football.
02:52Yeah, that dude was a moose.
02:54But, and so, if you go to every level of football and look at who is making a huge impact
03:04on a football game, it's usually around a tight end.
03:08And those who have a tight end are being pretty successful because you're forcing guys who don't normally cover into
03:16covering situations.
03:18And, and that's where I think everything started with the Kings.
03:24So, you either do one or two things.
03:27You put more pressure on them.
03:29Right?
03:30But then the passes get shorter and shorter to the same people because Carolina was doing the same thing.
03:36And there were a lot of shorter passes.
03:39Yeah, I mean, it was some tough tackling.
03:41I mean, that was, oof.
03:42It was, it was, it was a rough go of it.
03:44But it was a fun atmosphere.
03:45I was watching it at, I was watching it at O'Brien's on Saturday.
03:50And it was packed.
03:51A lot of people.
03:52Did you have a good time?
03:53I did have a good time.
03:54People started doing karaoke in the middle of the game, though.
03:56So, um.
03:58You're not lying.
03:58I'll watch it.
04:00So, you went home and said.
04:01I've never.
04:02You said, wait, D, funny thing.
04:04I went to watch a Canes game and karaoke broke out.
04:09They had the game on volume for the first half.
04:12And then 9 o'clock was karaoke time.
04:14So, I basically just made my announcement of, hey, we're giving these tickets away in an hour.
04:19Sign up.
04:20And we had a bunch of people sign up.
04:22But people were singing the rest of the way.
04:23So, I couldn't really hear the broadcast until I bounced at 10.
04:28Because we were, everybody wanted to sing Dancing Queen.
04:31So, I think we had given away the ticket.
04:34You're like, I'm out.
04:35I'm out.
04:36We had given away the neutrals.
04:38We had given away the swag.
04:39We basically had hit our time there.
04:42So, I listened to Joe Z.
04:43I was like, maybe Joe Z can give me a defensive stop.
04:46Which, thankfully, he did.
04:47He did.
04:47Because Lightfoot had the strip sack fumble.
04:50Which was the two-score lead.
04:52Excellent play.
04:53But, yeah.
04:54The reason I couldn't sing karaoke is because this is me during the game.
05:00Yeah.
05:03That's not conducive to singing.
05:05It's not conducive.
05:06Which, by the way, why do they keep taking awesome Malachi Tony catches away?
05:10Like, what is this with the officials?
05:11I don't understand this.
05:13I mean.
05:13Is it not one foot?
05:15Am I missing something?
05:16Is it not one foot in college?
05:17Does he have to do one foot, two foot, red fish, blue fish?
05:22What's going on?
05:22Tobin.
05:23Tobin.
05:23Tobin.
05:25They didn't take it away.
05:27It wasn't a catch.
05:28It was a catch.
05:28He was bobbling the ball on the way down.
05:31No, no, no.
05:31It wasn't a catch.
05:32Optical illusion.
05:33It wasn't a catch.
05:33And this is what drives me.
05:35Can I tell you, Brittany?
05:37This is what absolutely drives me crazy dealing with fans.
05:41Right?
05:41There's rules to the game.
05:43Right?
05:44The officials follow the rules.
05:45The replay officials follow the rules.
05:47Sometimes.
05:47If it doesn't work in your head, it doesn't mean you got screwed.
05:51No, I agree.
05:52So, you come on here, and the first thing you say is, why do they keep taking awesome Malachi?
05:57It wasn't a catch.
05:58Eh, I don't know about that.
06:00That one wasn't a catch.
06:01I don't know.
06:02I'm sure.
06:03Now, I tell you what.
06:04Man, the fact that we even had to review it was crazy, because I thought it was a catch
06:10until I saw the ball on the way down.
06:12Well, that's what I'm saying.
06:13It's like, it's not in good faith.
06:15Like, we're doing these replays.
06:16It's a rule.
06:17They're following rules.
06:18They don't make us.
06:19They have to review it.
06:21It's like, I guess he's bobbling it.
06:25Yeah, we'll take it away.
06:26I'll give you one better.
06:27The Pats' first down on Sunday was not a first down.
06:32The fact, the fourth down play, the fact that they mysteriously came back and said,
06:37no, no, he got there, that I'll buy.
06:42You're talking about yesterday?
06:44Yes.
06:45Yeah, that was crazy.
06:45I thought they stopped him.
06:47Yes, but here's the caveat today.
06:51You ready for the caveat?
06:54All changes of possession are reviewed by the booth.
07:00Yeah, it's a turnover.
07:01Right.
07:02So that's the only reason why it got reviewed.
07:05I still don't think they got them, though.
07:07I don't think they got it.
07:08So what happens in the booth, right, is after they change it or say it's not,
07:16then they basically go in and try to find reasons, right?
07:22So they go, oh, look, he came down, he fell, but his knee wasn't down yet.
07:28And, like, that's kind of how they do that, which is, like, they're just trying to justify it, right?
07:34They're trying to justify the call or explain the call.
07:38They don't really give their opinion on that call.
07:42I didn't think he got it either.
07:45And after super slow-mo getting in with all the people, I think you got to kind of – some
07:52of these you got to just let go.
07:53That's what I'm saying with the Malachi thing, though.
07:55It's not in good faith.
07:56No, but he's bobbling.
07:57He was bobbling.
07:58We didn't see it bobbling.
08:00It's a fact.
08:00He was bobbling the ball.
08:02Why do you do this?
08:04Why do you – there's plenty of things in football to complain about.
08:07You're complaining about something that wasn't a catch.
08:09I feel what – I feel how I feel.
08:10You sound ridiculous.
08:12I feel how I feel.
08:13I don't care how you feel.
08:14The facts are the facts.
08:16Nothing has been more – well, listen.
08:17Nothing has been more subjective over my days of –
08:20That's not subjective.
08:21It's subjective.
08:22And nothing has been more subjective than what is a catch and what is not a catch.
08:25And I think that if a guy moonwalks with one arm and – oh, there's a little – that's a
08:31catch.
08:31Sorry.
08:33I tell you what was crazy.
08:35The –
08:38When – when – was it Taft was covering the guy and he fumbled it?
08:44And he got up doing this and I'm like, no, no, no.
08:46That's a touchdown.
08:47I didn't even realize he dropped it.
08:49Oh, you're talking about – you're talking about the one where the official got the call wrong twice?
08:54Which, by the way, did you know we had a – we had a demoted crew?
08:58That's why all the calls – so this was the crew a couple weeks ago that blew all the calls
09:02in Packers-Lions.
09:03They were supposed to get the primetime game.
09:06And they got demoted to the 425 CBS game that nobody was seeing because everybody else was watching Chiefs-Broncos.
09:13Right.
09:14So we got the demoted crew, which is – yeah, that official initially called it a touchback, then called it
09:21incomplete, which neither were correct because it was a touchdown.
09:24Right.
09:25Right.
09:26But it's – and as a ball carrier, you always – they always tell you, hey, make sure you secure
09:35the ball well into the end zone so there's not any of that.
09:41Yeah.
09:42But, like, look, like, it drives me crazy that you're sitting – your first order of business is a catch.
09:54That wasn't a catch.
09:55It wasn't a catch.
09:56Because it wasn't a catch, and then you have people jumping.
09:59That was a catch step.
10:00No, it wasn't.
10:01Stop.
10:02There's other things to argue about.
10:05Don't argue about something that factually wasn't true.
10:09All right, but, Brittany, tell me if I'm right or if I'm right.
10:11Has Malachi Tony not been screwed out of, like, four amazing catches by replay this year, which, like, they've gone
10:18to review more of it.
10:19And they're like, eh, I don't know.
10:21He had the one around the pylon.
10:23Which was a touchdown.
10:25He had the ridiculous one-handed pass interference call that they called.
10:28Oh, yeah.
10:29I mean, that one was ridiculous.
10:30That was crazy.
10:31We had this one.
10:32There's another one that escapes my mind.
10:33I know there's another one.
10:34But he's had, like, four –
10:36The one against FSU, but it was a holding call.
10:38Oh, yeah.
10:39I just, like – it's almost like they're trying to hold him down.
10:42I don't understand it.
10:44I don't know.
10:46I don't know what it is, but I'm telling you.
10:48They're trying – wait.
10:49So, your claim here is that they're calling these not catches or penalties because they don't want him to win
10:58the Heisman?
10:58No, it's not.
10:59It's not that they don't want – I just don't think that they believe that he can make these catches.
11:03And it's kind of like when people couldn't officiate –
11:05You don't have to believe it is either a catch or it isn't.
11:09No, that's not true.
11:09Well, that's not true.
11:10Because they've done this –
11:11This is the first one I will say that's gone to review as a catch.
11:14There's – other than the pylon one.
11:16Every other one after that was a penalty that took back –
11:19Right.
11:20So, how are they screwing Malik?
11:22Well, they shouldn't – well, the pass interference was ridiculous.
11:24The pass interference one was ridiculous.
11:26Okay, again –
11:28His pylon touchdown was a touchdown.
11:31Okay.
11:32He should have like 30 touchdowns.
11:33Okay.
11:34Yeah.
11:35Here we are.
11:36And then –
11:37Monday.
11:37The holding call was a rough one that they brought back that like – it was like a 60-yard
11:41touchdown run from him.
11:43Headlines are brought to you by – and a great point by Lito Ford.
11:45I know why he's lashed out at me today.
11:47Headlines are brought to you by Doral Kia.
11:49Miami, we don't drink coffee.
11:50We drink cafecito.
11:51And when we want a low price, you save with your priceito.
11:53So, save now with your priceito at Doral Kia.
11:56The Dolphins lost 24-19.
11:59It was pretty – like I was excited about how they started.
12:07And even coming out to the second half, I wasn't like frustrated.
12:14But it's weird in sports.
12:18The team that doesn't have the same amount of talent as the other team is required to play more of
12:27a perfect game.
12:29And they just have like mistakes that if you're a good team don't cost you that much.
12:36Right.
12:37But when the Dolphins make mistakes because of the talent they have, it hurts them so much.
12:45Every little mistake, it seems like it's just tragic.
12:51Yeah.
12:51And so, it's like, oh, it's frustrating because I understand why these things happen, but it just is awful at
13:05that moment.
13:06Many people are very mad at Chris Johnson for not getting that sack on Drake May.
13:11I don't understand that either.
13:12He seemed to be right there.
13:13He's not a small man, but neither is Drake May.
13:15So, I don't know what a cornerback is supposed to do, but he was there in plenty of time to
13:19sack him.
13:20Right.
13:22The thing is that I'll use the old little kids playing soccer when they all chase the soccer ball instead
13:30of playing their position.
13:31So, what happens when these guys rush, they're open.
13:35They're free.
13:36So, instead of coming in and in control, they pick up the pace.
13:40Well, if you go faster, one sudden move makes you look ridiculous.
13:45And you see it on pass rushes all the time.
13:47Right?
13:48A lot of times, the guys who get the sacks are the guys who are partially blocked, and it takes
13:54them a little bit longer to get there, and the pocket kind of closes in.
13:58You know what I mean?
13:59But the guys who are free, who try to run a 4-2 to get there, and then when they
14:03get there, they have no control to make the play.
14:07I.e. Chopped Robinson all the time.
14:10One step up, slip on by.
14:14So, at that point, you know, and when you get comfortable, right?
14:18When you get comfortable doing stuff like that, you realize that I got to be more under control.
14:24I'm not going to get there any faster.
14:25It seemed almost like, yeah, he thought he got there too fast, and then was like, well, I don't want
14:29to get roughing.
14:30And so, he slid down his leg like a flagpole.
14:32I'm like, what was that, dude?
14:35You, like, I don't know.
14:36It was super strange.
14:38You know, people saying it looked Rozier bad.
14:40I'm not, I don't know what to tell you.
14:41It was rough.
14:44But then, yeah, also, Ollie Gordon losing his bleep on everybody just because he can't stop talking bleep.
14:51But, uh, is, it was, uh, it was tough.
14:54It was a tough, it was, it reminded me of Jarvis Landry back in the day.
14:57Jarvis Landry was the most, like, aggressive wide receiver of all time.
15:01He'd get unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike all the time.
15:04And that's kind of what happened to Ollie Gordon.
15:06And then, he gets mad at Halfley.
15:08He gets mad at his running back coach.
15:10And then, he gets mad at Malik Willis, who's trying to tell him he's dead ass wrong.
15:15And he can't be spoken to the entire time.
15:17And so, instead of a second and five, it's a third and 20.
15:20And, you know, or it's a second and 20, whatever the hell it was.
15:24Uh, it was, uh.
15:25It's really crazy.
15:26You know what's crazy?
15:27Like, I've, I've never been in an argument like that with a coach.
15:34Or, uh, like, not even an official.
15:39Like, I don't, but, but, it, when you run your mouth, right?
15:46And then, the other team starts talking back.
15:50Or, they start dominating you.
15:52It puts you in a very ornery position.
15:55So, that now, everything is affecting you.
15:58Right?
15:59It's easy to talk trash when you win it.
16:01Or, it's easy to talk trash when you dominate.
16:03But, you play running back.
16:06And, you can't control the contact or the collision unless you have the ball and then somebody's coming to tackle
16:13you.
16:13So, they can mess with you the whole game.
16:17That's why running backs, if you ever think, think of a running back.
16:20They're usually kind of laid back.
16:22They don't talk a whole lot of trash.
16:23And, the ones that do, don't last.
16:27Remember Leonard Fournette?
16:28It's not that hard.
16:30Yeah, like, who's the, I mean, did Marshall, uh, Marshawn Lynch talk trash or did he just grab his job?
16:36No, he didn't talk trash.
16:38You don't talk trash to the defense.
16:39Vince, you don't want to piss 11 guys off that you don't know where it's coming from.
16:45Right?
16:46You don't.
16:49So, like, that's rule number one is running back.
16:53You play hard.
16:55You do what you got to do on the football field.
16:58You get up, go back to the hook.
16:59You ain't a wide receiver where you're looking at the same guy the whole game.
17:03You ain't a linebacker where you're dealing with the same people the whole game.
17:06You're a running back.
17:08It's coming from everywhere.
17:11Yeah, it's tough.
17:12I mean, listen, he's played really great, but that was, uh, that was a tough thing.
17:14And, like you said, your margin for error is so small as the Dolphins.
17:18Everything can kind of kill momentum of how a game is going.
17:21So, it was rough.
17:23Um.
17:24Yeah, it felt like at some point in that game, everybody started feeling themselves.
17:28Yeah.
17:29And forgot that we got a whole nother half with adjustments and whatever.
17:33And it didn't help that, um, New England's offense put the Dolphins offense
17:39in a situation where they felt like they had to press, right?
17:43Which is kind of the worst position to be in from how you've played football all year.
17:48Like, you're not a team that throws it around.
17:50You're not a team.
17:51You have a nice combination of run, play, action, or what have you.
17:55And you go, and you go from there.
17:58But if you're forced, um, to have to either play catch up or whatever, you just make, you,
18:06you put yourself in a vulnerable situation.
18:08And that's kind of what happened that the pass rush pinned their ears back.
18:12And then it was a bloodbath up front.
18:15Like, Malik, as soon as he got the ball, there was people in his face.
18:18Like, Malik, as soon as he got the ball, there was a ball, there was a ball, there was a
18:19ball.
18:19Like, Malik, as soon as he got the ball, there was a ball, there was a ball, there was a
18:19ball.
