00:00You actually sound, you don't sound too bad.
00:02No, I had a day to recover.
00:04That's good.
00:05I mean, this is 48 hours.
00:07So it's not next day.
00:09I'm hearing you stretch it out a couple, like you're getting a couple carries,
00:12and now I'm starting to hear it.
00:15That, ladies and gentlemen, is the Canes-FSU game in double overtime.
00:20Yeah.
00:21Oh, yeah, there it is.
00:23Did we not know this was going to happen?
00:25We knew it was going to happen.
00:26We knew it was going to happen.
00:27We knew.
00:27In fairness, it was a crazy game.
00:29Toby, you do not even understand.
00:32I pleaded with her.
00:34I bet, don't do, Brittany, don't say this.
00:37I know, we know you, right?
00:41No, no, no.
00:42I'm going to be professional.
00:43I'm going to be with people I can't act a fool with.
00:46And I texted her Saturday after the game or yesterday.
00:52There's no chance you have a voice.
00:54Yeah, there's no chance.
00:55No, there was no chance.
00:56Because I'm not into it like you guys are, and I was sitting on the edge of my seat.
01:02I was hoarse on the other end because that's how I was the entire game, dude.
01:10Especially after seeing what all the other teams did.
01:15Yeah, dude, it was a bloodbath.
01:16It was funny.
01:17I was in Tennessee, which is like 30 minutes from Knoxville.
01:24I mean, the town was going crazy.
01:25And I was actually asking my wife, I said, oh man, I said, you think we can get into a
01:30Tennessee game?
01:31She was like, yeah, whatever you want.
01:32And I was like, never mind.
01:33It's Alabama.
01:34We have no shot.
01:35But it was like 400 just to get into the building for that game.
01:39I thought it was going to be, I was like, oh, I was hoping it was going to be like
01:41Tennessee State.
01:42They were taking on somebody like that, like a bum-ass school.
01:44I've always wanted to go to Knoxville.
01:46Me too.
01:47I've wanted to go check out the whole scene.
01:49Apparently, it's like one of the best atmospheres.
01:51I was like, oh, we're not making it into that game.
01:52Although, I imagine it would have been crazy.
01:54They said on TV that the atmosphere was wild.
01:57But I heard the atmosphere on Saturday night was crazy.
02:02It was, you guys, I was sitting in the upper, like in the upper section.
02:05It was shaking.
02:07The ground beneath me was shaking.
02:09Wow.
02:09Especially with the fumble, the fumble, the hearing, like the sound went out in my ears.
02:16Like I could not hear anything.
02:18It was insane.
02:19I mean, still does not beat Notre Dame 2017 at all, but it was really loud.
02:27It was really a fun game.
02:30I mean, listen, you know what they say with rivalry games?
02:33You got to throw the records out the window.
02:35You definitely do not say that.
02:36Oh, my God.
02:37I do not say that.
02:38Give yourself a minus one.
02:40Minus one, Brittany.
02:41Minus one to him.
02:44Minus one.
02:44When I said boat race, I meant like a silver race.
02:47I meant like a slow race.
02:49Absolutely not.
02:49Low pace race.
02:51Back and forth.
02:52I did not mean a speed of.
02:54I didn't mean that.
02:55Did you see how people got on me?
02:57People really got on me.
02:59And I'm like, hey, man, I've played in these.
03:02I have no idea what the point spread was in any of these games.
03:05But I bet you we were big favorites in a couple of them.
03:08And I got to tell you, it's not the way it plays out.
03:13You know, listen, credit to them.
03:14They came to play.
03:16It's a rivalry game.
03:17They came to play.
03:18They came to play.
03:19Props for them.
03:19And then to top this off, top that off, I had one of my friends, right?
03:29Like, he's already like negative Nancy.
03:34He goes, the Cane, middle way through the game.
03:37The Canes are blowing it.
03:38Look, they're not, they're not, they didn't come to play.
03:41I'm like, why?
03:42Because they aren't up by two touchdowns already?
03:44Sounds like somebody who came on.
03:45Like, stop, stop.
03:46I wish people would stop looking at these games based on the point spread and determining how good a team
03:57should look against another team.
03:59Well, I think, and that's what we do.
04:00I think if we've learned anything over the first six weeks of college football is nobody knows anything because all
04:07of the top 10 got obliterated.
04:09And if you walk away with that game, it's like, all right, Florida State, have they looked like a juggernaut?
04:15No.
04:16But their quarterback played out of his mind.
04:18He played great.
04:19He played great.
04:19He played great.
04:20And I didn't see that all year.
04:22Yeah, he played great.
04:24That receiver, a moose, you know, he was, he was leaving everybody in the dust, but he definitely did not
04:31catch that football at the end.
04:32I'll tell you that much, dude.
04:33He did not catch that football.
04:34I have a, I have a, I have a still shot.
04:37I'll send it to you guys.
04:39I have a still shot.
04:41You did research?
04:41With them going up in the air.
04:43Right.
04:43And the defender catching the ball and the guy's hands are near, nowhere near it.
04:47I never thought that he had the ball.
04:49Oh, I did.
04:50I never thought, well, you mean you were in the upper deck.
04:52But you can't see.
04:53You were in the upper deck.
04:54I was furious that that happened twice.
04:56I'll tell you that much because I thought, I did think the holding call, shaky.
05:01I thought the holding call before that, I wish you might have a gripe.
05:07But I didn't think that, I didn't think that he got that ball over Bryce Fitzgerald.
05:10By the way, Bryce Fitzgerald, I mean, he's got one arm, dude.
05:12You can't get a, you can't get the ball from one guy with one arm.
05:14He's been playing the entire, I mean, Bryce Fitzgerald's basically been playing the entire season with the Mr. Potato arm,
05:20which is basically.
05:22What's with all the shoulders popping out?
05:23Dude, what's with all the shoulders?
05:25I got a question.
05:26I have a theory.
05:27We'll get into the game here in just a second.
05:29Let me get you your headline liner, which is brought to you by Doral Kia.
05:32In Miami, we don't drink coffee.
05:33We drink cafecito.
05:34And when we want a low price, you save with your priceito.
05:36Save now with your priceito at Doral Kia.
05:4010,000 view here, Leroy, on college football.
05:43I'm just asking this from the Miami Hurricanes perspective.
05:47Is it possible they're playing too many games and then we're having some follow-up?
05:51Because this is a lot of injuries that Canes are sustaining.
05:54And it's a lot of, like, arms and hands and dings.
05:59Like, it's not, I mean, there's been some knee injury, like Marty Brown.
06:03But, like, mostly it's been, like, I've seen more guys go out this season with dislocated shoulders than I can
06:09ever remember.
06:11Part of it may have to do with, you know, the strength and how they're training and what they're trying
06:17to and how they're trying to make tackles.
06:21Anytime your arm gets extended from your body, you have to be almost 10 times as strong to catch anything
06:29that's going there.
06:30And that's just the reality of it.
06:33I think with guys being bigger, stronger, and faster, more athletic, what it allows you to do is get an
06:41arm on somebody or get near somebody that normally you wouldn't even be close to.
06:46So you just throw it out there, right?
06:50And things happen.
06:52You dislocate or whatever.
06:53The other thing is that when you used to get tackled, you just get tackled, brought to the ground.
07:00Now it seems like you fight and people jump on you and just the pressure of guys being bigger, jumping
07:08on you, that plays a role in it.
07:10So, like, when Lyle was carrying it, like, the guys were basically doing MMA on him.
07:14Right.
07:16You know there's a rule.
07:18If you miss and hit the guy, you're kicked out.
07:20Well, listen, they came very, very close.
07:23Right.
07:24Like, they were doing – they were literally throwing everything they could at him to try and get that ball
07:29out.
07:29But I don't know.
07:30I'm just – I was a little like, man, there's a lot of guys' arms popping out of their sockets
07:36for the Miami Hurricanes.
07:37Like, what did they play, 14 games last year?
07:4015?
07:4115.
07:4215.
07:43That's a lot of games for kids.
07:44I know that, you know, like, Motore is 28.
07:46But other than that, like, Bryce Fitzgerald's very young, and it's like this kid's going in and out.
07:53You know, Malachi Tony, it feels like he's got a –
07:56Is he 18?
07:57Malachi's 18 or 19?
07:5919.
07:5919.
08:01Like, I'm just wondering.
08:02I'm just – you know, because I know we're expanding the playoffs, and, you know, good teams won't be playing
08:06all those games.
08:07But the games played a lot of games last year.
08:09And we saw with the Panthers, they're falling apart.
08:11Violent sport.
08:12Just curious.
08:13Just curious.
08:14And adding more playoff teams next year.
08:18Right.
08:18Just exactly what we need, by the way, with everybody losing.
08:21Bad weekend for that.
08:23Bad weekend for them saying, we need more to determine this.
08:25Right.
08:27I don't know.
08:27I think it's just the overall strength and size of these guys that you probably shouldn't be just throwing out
08:37a chicken wing to hit somebody running full speed at 220, 230 pounds.
08:43You know who looks the most lively?
08:45The freshman, JV and Mallory.
08:48He looks incredible.
08:49Yes.
08:50What a real guy.
08:50Yes.
08:51He's 220 as a freshman.
08:52Oh.
08:53Like, what is that going to look like?
08:55What a monster.
08:55What a monster he is.
08:57Right.
08:58Handsome dad.
08:58Oh, no.
08:59Somebody told me 16 games they played.
09:02That's a lot of games, dude.
09:04That's NFL season.
09:05And we know Mario.
09:07Doesn't exactly take it easy with the practices.
09:09You know, he's old school.
09:10But here, the reality of it is this.
09:16You can't, as far as the development of your team, your players for now and in the future, you can't
09:25treat it like an NFL season.
09:27I know.
09:28I know.
09:29But you also, but my big question is, is like, we're expanding these kids to more playoff games.
09:35Right.
09:35And some kids have to come back and play the next season.
09:37And I know Mario Criswell is not a guy who does want to cheap the hardness of them practicing.
09:44You know what I honestly think they should do?
09:46I just wanted to do too many games.
09:48I know this would suck, but I honestly think that there should be a regulated time that you can start
09:58anything from your last game to the next year.
10:03And I give some guys a head start, but if you don't give the amount of time, the necessary amount
10:12of time to heal and to recover, right, then you're not doing it.
10:21Because if the football season ends, what, middle of January?
10:27Yeah.
10:28And the offseason starts in March.
10:30Right.
10:31Spring football.
10:32Like, I think that they should do something about the amount of time.
10:39And I don't know what the time is.
10:41I know for me, when my football season ended, I didn't do anything until the second or third week of
10:47March.
10:48Yeah.
10:48I just wonder, it's just like, hey, they're playing an NFL season, like the good teams, obviously, you know.
10:53Right.
10:54Not everybody, but, you know, we saw this, you know, that we saw this, the Panthers and all their runs,
10:58Alexander Barkoff can't get through a season anymore.
11:00You know, like, these things do have remnants.
11:03I mean, Mark Fletcher, you know, the guy, thankfully he hasn't had a huge burden this year, and they have
11:08a ton of running backs.
11:09But even he, you get a banged up hand, and they got to go to the freshman.
11:13Malachi Tony has had to gut it through all these games.
11:15God, he's good.
11:16I mean, can we just talk about this kid?
11:17Oh, my God.
11:19What are we doing here?
11:21What are we doing here?
11:21We are watching.
11:23This guy is amazing.
11:24We are watching just an incredible, like, I would say an incredible player, but to me, he's more of an
11:35incredible competitor.
11:37Yeah.
11:37Like, when you watch him play, and the talent is there, but what impresses you the most is how much
11:48he competes on every play.
11:51That's the part, to me, that's the part that will always separate him from other guys, is that he's not
12:02built like other wide receivers.
12:06But I got to tell you, just being the biggest wide receiver don't make you the best.
12:11True.
12:12And he is so damn competitive.
12:14And he fights and scratches and claws and makes people miss and catch short passes, long passes, and just does
12:22damage throughout the game.
12:24It's amazing to watch.
12:27I know.
12:28He's, like, he's, like, that's, that's really badass.
12:31That's crazy.
12:32We were joking, like, because Frog Boy was telling us the other day, he's like, oh, I like Trump Robinson,
12:36no gloves.
12:36I'm like, doesn't look that cool.
12:38You know, like, have some equipment on.
12:39Malachi Tony, he makes it look cool.
12:41You can do whatever he wants.
12:41Malachi Tony makes it look cool with no gloves.
12:43He's just out of here and goes, oh, you guys have sticky?
12:44No, no gloves from him.
12:45And he never, never drops it.
12:48Literally.
12:48Never drops it.
12:49Literally never drops.
12:50What did he, does he have it?
12:51Because he had that one play where they were trying to give him a drop and the guy knocked it
12:55out.
12:55Like, it wasn't a drop.
12:56Yeah.
12:56I don't think I've ever seen him drop the ball.
12:59And he has to go down, like, I got to tell you, Darian Mensah, some of these throws.
13:04Not great.
13:04Malachi Tony is like, what?
13:07He's, he's, he's.
13:08Um, I never wore gloves until my rookie year in December.
13:17Just for cold or just, just because of the, just because of the touch?
13:20Yeah, my hands felt like planks.
13:22So I put gloves on to try to warm them up a little bit.
13:24I never wore gloves either.
13:26That's probably why all my fingers are ripped up.
13:29Hmm.
13:31Off though.
13:31You look off.
13:33I got to tell you what a, I went on a rampage on Sunday because I would not allow anybody
13:43to take away from how great that game was, how intense that game was.
13:53It was awesome.
13:54To talk about anything else other than the Canes one.
13:59If you threw anything at me, oh, they had too many.
14:03If anything at me, you got cussed out.
14:08You got cussed out because that was a great football game, regardless of who was playing.
14:14Now make it a rivalry.
14:15It made it that much more intense.
14:19And I'm not, I don't want to hear anything else other than that.
14:22I told Brittany, I played in these games.
14:26It's brutal.
14:27What was the vibes in the building, Brittany?
14:29Like was people, was a lot of grumbling?
14:31Was it squeaky cheeks or did everybody just kind of enjoy the atmosphere?
14:34It was squeaky cheeks.
14:37It was like, because the craziest part for me was number one, like the attendance being
14:42so great with the weather.
14:45While we were walking into the stadium, I was drenched.
14:49Like I was sopping wet.
14:51My shoes were like, I sounded like SpongeBob.
14:54That's what that sounded like.
14:55Like, I was trying to do a better job, but I don't think I can.
15:00And the people in the lower decks were getting soaked because it was raining.
15:05Oh, gosh.
15:06And nobody left.
15:07And I had never seen that before.
15:09And I'm telling you, like, till the last second, this stadium was packed.
15:15The atmosphere was insane.
15:18And then as we're all walking out, mind you, we're watching on our phones, Notre Dame lose
15:23to BYU.
15:24So it was just a crazy, crazy time.
15:27Yeah.
15:27Notre Dame, one more.
15:28The Canes can send them back to the Pop-Tart Bowl.
15:30I'm very excited about this.
15:33Very excited.
15:34They can have another team vote and show leadership by deciding whether or not they want to go.
15:38So, question, we talk about Notre Dame's schedule and how we put them, you know, above everybody,
15:48which is just crazy.
15:50Yep.
15:51Utah was the only ranked team they played so far.
15:54They lost.
15:55BYU.
15:56BYU, sorry.
15:57Miami is coming up, right?
16:01Yep.
16:02They lose to Miami.
16:04What can they say?
16:07What, there's nothing you can say when the two ranked teams you play against.
16:10Well, they only got to finish 12th and then they're in.
16:13They ain't going to finish 12th if they got two losses to the only two ranked teams they
16:16play.
16:17They're not.
16:17Where were they yesterday?
16:18Fourth?
16:21Afterwards, I think they were finished.
16:22I think it was fourth.
16:23They were.
16:24No, they were third.
16:26Were they fourth?
16:27Yeah.
16:27And Miami was fifth?
16:28Miami's number one.
16:29Miami's number one.
16:29No, I know Miami's number one, but they were ahead of Miami, right?
16:34Yes.
16:35Yes.
16:35So it was four or five.
16:36We were four.
16:37Okay.
16:37I was trying to figure out if it was three, four or four.
16:38But if you lose to the number one team, like if you're fourth, like they're going to
16:43get the okey-doke.
16:44Like they're not going to fall.
16:45But they're not fourth now.
16:46Yeah, they are.
16:47Yeah, they are.
16:48No, Notre Dame's still fourth?
16:50Yes.
16:51So they had to be higher than that.
16:53Were they?
16:54They were three.
16:55We were four.
16:55Okay.
16:56It's three, four.
16:57Okay.
16:57So Miami's one.
16:58BYU's two.
16:59Ohio State, three.
17:00Notre Dame, four.
17:01Georgia, five.
17:03Indiana.
17:04Hold on.
17:07Notre Dame lost to BYU and they're still ahead of BYU.
17:11No, BYU's two.
17:12No, BYU's two.
17:12Two.
17:13Okay.
17:13Okay, BYU jumped up from seven.
17:16They jumped up from eight to two.
17:18Right.
17:19BYU, I mean, Ohio State, they moved up a spot.
17:22Notre Dame, they fell from two to four or three to four.
17:26And we went up from four to one.
17:32So Indiana was what?
17:35Indiana was five?
17:37Indiana was five.
17:38No, Indiana was five and Ohio State was four.
17:42It was four or five.
17:43Either way.
17:44Right?
17:45Mm-hmm.
17:45Where's Indiana now?
17:47They're five.
17:48They're six.
17:49So they still kept Notre Dame above Indiana?
17:53Yes.
17:53And Indiana played a top five team?
17:56That's right.
17:57There you go.
17:58They're like, we're like, but getting to my point, like, if so, we're going to say, hey,
18:05they never beat a ranked team, but what's going to happen is, they don't mean to count
18:08chickens because we obviously have some work to do.
18:10Yeah.
18:10But let's just say Miami does beat Notre Dame.
18:13Notre Dame's not going to fall out of the top ten.
18:15They're still going to, they're still going to okey-doke and weasel their way into the
18:18playoffs.
18:18Especially if BYU continues to win, their, their, their excuse is going to be, oh, we beat
18:23two of the best team.
18:24We lost to two of the best teams in the country.
18:26Lost to the top two teams.
18:26Yeah.
18:27Bastards.
18:28association.
