00:00Gabe chimed in and he says,
00:01how many times have they mentioned that the Hurricanes are done this year
00:04because of what happened yesterday?
00:05And I told him, I said, I'm not gutless.
00:07I'm not saying the season's done just because Malachi told me that.
00:09I refuse.
00:10I would be – look, the recipe for success is they run for 250 yards.
00:17Yep.
00:17Simple as that.
00:19It's no – it's not crazy to think that it can't be done.
00:26But I would also say this.
00:30And Malachi Tony's great.
00:31He's one of the most dynamic players in all of football.
00:36Yep.
00:37Right?
00:38But they have a good team.
00:40They have a good offensive team.
00:42And they've been – they've had other players that can make plays.
00:46Maybe not as good as Malachi, but it does not mean you can't be successful.
00:52And, in fact, when you have a star like Malachi on your team
00:56and you spend a whole week focusing on what are the different things you're going to do to defend Malachi
01:04and then you have a whole other different guy there and a whole other different two or three guys
01:09and you have absolutely no idea where it's coming from,
01:12I would venture to say if those guys are talented that it causes more of a problem
01:19because you have designed your game plan to defend one guy and that guy is not playing.
01:23He's got to speak the truth, Tobin.
01:25Remember when FSU went undefeated and they didn't get the invite because their best player was hurt?
01:28Bring that up.
01:30You can bring it up, but the times are different now.
01:32Back then it was only four spots.
01:36And it is your – like, look, it is –
01:37And it's not your quarterback.
01:38If you told me, like, the Canes were in a situation and they didn't have Darian –
01:43like, this is an interesting thing because it's like who is more irreplaceable,
01:48Mensah or Malachi?
01:49Right.
01:49And even if I think Malachi's had the better season, I thought that he deserved the Heisman.
01:53I think putting your quarterback in a situation,
01:56if you had to go into this game with Nick like quarterback, I'd be, you know, petrified.
02:00Right.
02:01I would feel much worse about it.
02:02And also it's like even if we lose this game, there's still a road to the playoffs through the ACC
02:10championship.
02:11And in that case, Malachi will be back for the playoffs, hopefully, according to, you know, what they think.
02:19Right.
02:19So it doesn't take, like, the air completely out of it when that's the case.
02:27So I'm not – I'm scared, obviously.
02:30This is going to be the game that you have to get through
02:31because in all honesty, first of all, the Canes are going to have to get through this stupid ACC anyway.
02:36I mean, the latter part of it is scary regardless.
02:39You got Duke, you got Virginia Tech, and BC left.
02:43Yes.
02:43And then you're probably going to play Wake Forest again if you get through all that.
02:46And Wake Forest, listen, had the Canes in a, you know, in a world of trouble.
02:51They certainly did.
02:52But that was a crazy game because everybody was kind of dropping like flies in the middle of that game.
02:57Like, you're not going to go into that game, not counting, but let's just put on the ACC
03:01because that's – honestly, this is house money because it's like you beat Notre Dame.
03:05That's just a cherry on top.
03:07But the whole thing is you're going to get into the dance by winning the ACC.
03:10Agreed.
03:10And so I think that it's still possible because we've seen that Notre Dame,
03:15as good as the defense has been this year, they struggled with the run game last week
03:18against the Navy, and that's not Mark Cletcher and JV and Mallory.
03:21And that's knowing that all they basically do is run the football.
03:23I would also say that when you look at this game, like, don't get caught up in –
03:35and this is what gives this game a bad rap.
03:38Everybody's looking at the spread.
03:41The spread is not an indication of how good these two teams are.
03:46And I would say that Miami has been more tested than Notre Dame.
03:55And so for everybody to be worried about what the Canes are going to do without Malachi,
04:02they've played stretches of football this year without Malachi and had other players step up.
04:07Look, he is the thing that makes the offense the most special.
04:11Yes, of course.
04:12It doesn't mean it's not good, though.
04:14It can still be productive.
04:15It can still be productive.
04:17Correct.
04:17I think there are still weapons.
04:18It's not an unfamiliar place where it's been.
04:22I mean, Mark Cletcher is so experienced in these spots to help –
04:27and so if you do go – man, they may mix in all four of them.
04:31This may be the week where he even mentioned putting Pringle in there.
04:33But that's it.
04:35When you think about what they have done is that now you're going to see the depth of Miami.
04:47Right.
04:47Now you're going to see how much talent they actually have because you have no idea where it's coming from.
04:53We know what the issue – like the issue, regardless of Malachi and Tony, the issue of this game hasn't
04:58changed.
04:59And that is, can the Canes tackle?
05:00Yeah, the defense.
05:01That's honestly the biggest thing.
05:03Nothing changes about Malachi and Tony.
05:04They don't have to tackle without the ball.
05:06Right.
05:07Right.
05:07If you can just take it – if you can control the clock and limit it.
05:12But the biggest issue of the team is defense.
05:16Right.
05:16Why did I say it like that?
05:17I don't know.
05:17It's defense.
05:18You do things like that.
05:19That's fair.
05:20I didn't mean to say it like that.
05:21Honestly, I don't know.
05:21That wasn't a bit.
05:22That was just weird.
05:23I thought it was intentional.
05:23It was not intentional in that time.
05:25But the biggest issue is those guys in the secondary aren't going to tackle anybody.
05:31Right.
05:31No.
05:31And I would like them to tackle people.
05:33And the linebackers.
05:34And I would say, you know what's another way of tackling?
05:37More people to the ball.
05:40That's – I like – I can't emphasize that the most.
05:42As a running back, if you saw one guy, you thought you had a chance.
05:47Right.
05:48A bunch of guys.
05:49Be Hornets, dude.
05:51I mean, you don't have to look that far with – what did he say?
05:56Nothing.
05:57See, and that's what he does.
05:58What?
05:59No, you try –
05:59Swarm.
06:00You try and sneak one by.
06:03Brittany was just going on because she's loving the football talk.
06:06Yeah.
06:06She's all about to talk, right?
06:09And she didn't even pay attention to what you said.
06:11No, you –
06:11That's not true.
06:12Why you got to see me too like that?
06:13No.
06:14What did I do?
06:16You know what you did.
06:17What did you say?
06:17I said – he said you got to swarm to the football.
06:19I said be Hornets.
06:21That's not that bad.
06:22He said worse things.
06:24Although, I think she's going –
06:25Yeah, but that was going to escalate later.
06:25I think she's going easy on me today.
06:27No, no.
06:27She feels bad.
06:29You're riding on this.
06:31But you shouldn't because it's good radio, and I don't ever want you to apologize for
06:34good radio.
06:35I feel bad.
06:36No.
06:37Don't feel bad.
06:38Don't worry.
06:38He'll get you.
06:39And then you're like, I shouldn't have let him off, dog.
06:42You know why.
06:43That's what happens.
06:45Anyway.
06:46Like, this show is – definitely kick them while they're down.
06:50No, you know what's funny?
06:51When I first started on this show, I forgot what I told Leroy, and then I literally called
06:55him after the segment, and I apologized.
06:58Like, what?
06:59And he was like, what are you talking about?
07:01Like, we don't –
07:02I feel terrible still.
07:04Like, no.
07:05I will think about it when I go to bed tonight.
07:06Really?
07:07Yeah.
07:08I feel terrible.
07:09You know what you need to be thinking about, that heat victory.
07:12Dade Sow says, you think they have a Cooper Cat package?
07:15I don't know about that one.
07:16I'm not sure.
07:17Cooper Cat.
07:17I just want him doing normal wide receiver stuff.
07:21Normal things, please.
07:22No.
07:23I mean, we –
07:23I like when he does the thing.
07:24I like when he does the thing.
07:24We did see him catch that hitch and take it to the house.
07:27Yeah.
07:27It's not time for cuteness.
07:29Please.
07:30No, I like when he does a celebration, though.
07:31No, yeah, that's fun.
07:32You know?
07:33Oh, because he looks like – or Garfield.
07:35He looks like both intangible Spider-Men.
07:37There's only ever been an intangible – oh, no.
07:39I'm sure if Miles Morales.
07:40Miles Morales is right.
07:42Taking over.
07:43Miles can't wait for that movie to come out.
07:45He's so pissed it takes so long.
07:46I've never seen a kid so pissed with a to-be-continued.
07:50He was so into that.
07:51What, Spider-Verse?
07:52Yeah, Spider-Verse.
07:53Whichever Spider-Verse it was.
07:55The last one.
07:56I never saw the Spider-Verse.
07:58You know, I'm not into cartoons.
08:00It's really good.
08:01I'm not spending money to go see a cartoon.
08:03There's Cartoon Network for that.
08:04You have every streamer on the man.
08:05No, I know.
08:05I can watch it now.
08:06But I'm still not going to sit and watch a two-hour cartoon.
08:09I think you should.
08:11Nope.
08:11In fact, I get absolutely excited when they do cartoons and make them real life.
08:20Like when they did Speed Racer, terrible movie.
08:22I liked it.
08:24You liked the live actions?
08:25Yeah.
08:26Dave's house says Leroy doesn't support the tangible Spider-Man.
08:30What?
08:30I think he's saying by duty you have to go watch it.
08:34Oh, the cartoon?
08:35Yeah.
08:36See, we can't have a real black actor do it.
08:40He's voiced by a black actor.
08:41We got to draw one up.
08:42Oh, I would hope.
08:43I would hope that you have a black guy voicing over a black dude.
08:47We'll wait for them to do the live action.
08:48That would be crazy.
08:49They definitely got to do live action.
08:51I don't think so.
08:52They got to finish the cartoon first.
08:53I never finished it.
08:54I mean, I never saw the cartoon.
08:55It's really good.
08:56I've heard amazing things about it.
08:58I can't remember the last.
09:00Rebecca might have been five.
09:02No one's going to go to the movie.
09:04No, I'm trying to think.
09:05What was the last cartoon?
09:07It's like we're pulling it.
09:09The animation is really good.
09:10It kind of looks like a comic.
09:12I don't know how to explain it.
09:13The way they do it.
09:14It's really good.
09:15Oh, like the old Batman that go pow.
09:17Yeah.
09:19It's really cool.
09:20I enjoyed it.
09:21I felt all the same way you did.
09:22Now, so let's put it this way, if this would make you understand where I'm coming from.
09:29Of all the superhero movies, I like Spider-Man the least.
09:34Interesting.
09:35I don't know why I really like Spider-Man.
09:37I love Spider-Man.
09:38I hate Spider-Man.
09:39Most people really, really, really like Spider-Man.
09:42And I'm like, if a new Spider-Man comes out.
09:46Who is your favorite superhero?
09:49Batman?
09:51They lost me with the Batmans.
09:53They take a lot of hacks at Batman.
09:55I like Superman or the Avengers.
09:58Or I like the Marvel.
09:59It can't be Avengers.
10:00That's all the superheroes.
10:01Yeah.
10:01But I like the Marvel.
10:03The Marvel movie Thor.
10:05I like all the Thors.
10:07Thors are good.
10:09I like the way Marvel ties it all together.
10:12That is really cool.
10:14And if you remember Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., that show?
10:16Yeah.
10:16The greatest thing I ever saw was the ending of one of the seasons for Agents of S.H.I
10:24.E.L.D.
10:25led you right into the first Avengers.
10:27Yeah.
10:28And I just thought that was cool.
10:31Why?
10:32Am I a little over?
10:33I mean, it's adorable how you're like.
10:35That's what they do.
10:36It is adorable.
10:36It's adorable how you want to follow the puzzle, but you won't.
10:40With the same people, though?
10:41Yeah, but you follow the puzzle of Marvel, but you won't watch Across the Spider-Verse.
10:45I just thought, all right, fine.
10:48Like, you know what?
10:50Watch it tonight.
10:51I'm like, and like, but Marvel, you lost me when Captain America died.
10:57Listen, Cooper Barcade.
10:59Yeah, but Captain, that's, no!
11:02Cooper Barcade, you better have a good game after all this.
11:05I know.
11:06After all the Spider-Man talk.
11:07All of the Spider-Man talk.
11:08Come on, Spider-Coop.
11:09All of the Spider-Man talk.
