00:00In my opinion, your characters are like two sides of the same coin
00:06because she embodies the fervor through the strength of the revolution
00:11while he represented the status quo, the establishment.
00:17So what do you think of these two aspects of your characters?
00:22I think that Monica is a very special person, woman.
00:28She's, as you said, she's very strong.
00:33She's very realistic.
00:34She believes in this project of Salvador Allende.
00:39She believes that change is possible.
00:43She's an activist.
00:46And then we don't know exactly why, but I think that is beautiful in her.
00:51She opens her heart for a character like Chris
00:54and she invites him to sit close to her at the beach
00:59and have a conversation and advise him not to lie anymore.
01:05And that's the only way that this actually story can happen
01:10because she allows it.
01:14And I think that that was needed for her to gave her the strength to be part of the future,
01:26to be part of what we know what happened in Chile a couple of months after the movie.
01:32And I think that that unlikely friendship, it's very interesting and unique and beautiful.
01:37It is.
01:39It's so beautiful.
01:40I love their scenes together and the character that you portrayed.
01:45I portray a character who also has a belief system but is probably misguided.
01:54But, you know, this was a terrible chapter, you know, certainly in Chile's history,
02:01but also for the United States that this is what they were doing.
02:04You know, this is what the CIA was involved in.
02:07And, I mean, these things don't happen, you know,
02:12without people believing that they're, you know, somehow doing good, you know, maybe.
02:19Even though I think a lot of people, you know, are sort of doing it as a job.
02:27But, you know, but there's a heavy price to pay.
02:31And I think my character, you know, he definitely has his coping mechanisms
02:37that are maybe not very healthy.
02:39But, yeah, I think there's definitely a price that he pays.
02:47And talking about what you say, the United States situation in that year,
02:53in that years, could we say that those events were something like a rehearsal
02:59for what is happening today?
03:04I mean, I think what's happening today is that, you know, back then it was covert.
03:09You know, there was people.
03:11I mean, I was young when it happened.
03:13And I was in 10th grade and I was not very aware of world events.
03:16But I don't think most adults were, you know.
03:21And now, you know, in the States we have an administration that is just, you know,
03:27they make no apology for what they're doing.
03:32They don't even, they don't try and hide it.
03:33They just feel that it's their right.
03:36So it's, yeah, in so many ways, it's awful.
03:43And we're consuming that from our cell phones every single day.
03:48Yeah.
03:49Yeah.
03:51Thank you.
03:53Thank you.
