00:01Part of the ADAPT oral immunotherapy program that we rolled out in these hospitals, we're
00:07giving children very small and measured and careful doses of peanut flour daily.
00:13And that is trying to build up the child's tolerance to peanut so that after a couple
00:19of years they may get to the point where they can have a full oral food challenge and actually
00:24pass that challenge and go into what we call remission.
00:26So we are hoping to expand the ADAPT program into cashew actually.
00:33Listeners may know that tree nut allergies are almost as prevalent as peanut allergies
00:38in Australia and in fact cashew allergy is about equivalent to peanut so we're hoping
00:42to do exactly the same program, roll that out with cashew allergy for babies who are suspected
00:48of having a cashew allergy and doing an oral food challenge and it would be great if we
00:53can achieve similar results at that outset so we can de-label those children and get peanut
00:58or cashew back into the diet.
