00:04It looks like a concept car, but it's the Polestar 5, and we've just done a tour of Tasmania in
00:09it.
00:09So let's take a closer look.
00:10First impressions are honestly unreal.
00:13The design of this car is perfect.
00:15It really looks like a concept car on the road.
00:17But for me, my favorite feature is just how low this roof height is.
00:20142 centimeters here on the performance model, and there's awesome spatial engineering too.
00:24So I'll jump in the back to show you that.
00:25By moving the rear header beam all the way back behind my head, it gives me even more headroom than
00:30you would usually get in a car with such a low headline.
00:33While it's designed as a four-seater with these sporty seats, if you need to carry a fifth person, you
00:37can by folding up this center armrest.
00:39But most of the time, it'll be down so you can access your seat heating, ventilation, and other climate options.
00:43But the front is where I'll be spending most of my time, so let's jump up there and have a
00:46look.
00:47The design is highlighted by these Recaro seats.
00:49It's the first time that Polestar's worked with the brand, and they look stunning.
00:52You get leather here on the steering wheel. It feels really nice to the touch. Leather on the seats.
00:56A favorite feature of mine is this 9-inch digital instrument cluster here in front of me that's mounted to
01:01the steering column, so it's never hard to see.
01:03And then, of course, we have to mention this large 14.5-inch infotainment screen. Really snappy here in its
01:08latest application.
01:09In the performance variant that we've been testing, the dual motor sends 650 kilowatts and 1015 newton meters of torque
01:15to all four wheels.
01:16That helps launch this four-door GT from 0 to 100 kilometers an hour in just 3.2 seconds.
01:20You get these large Brembo brake discs up the front, but one of my favorite features, maybe my favorite feature
01:25of all, is the MagneRide suspension that can read the road 1,000 times per second, but it doesn't feel
01:30too synthetic, and it really just adds to that sports car feel.
01:33Priced from this price above my head, the Polestar 5 dual motor and performance models both deliver supercar performance, engineering,
01:41luxury comfort, and Scandinavian design for a fraction of the price of their German rivals.
