00:04Rail enthusiasts might have relished rubbing shoulders at last week's launch, but regular
00:09commuters know that at peak hour the metro can feel like a victim of its own success.
00:14Let's face it, it's getting very squeezy. So we're trying to fix that. We promise that
00:19if we get into government next year we will have three minute metros.
00:23To meet that peak hour promise, the coalition thinks it will need up to 15 new driverless
00:29trains. The exact cost of the promise is unclear, but it could be close to half a billion dollars.
00:34You can't not invest in the future of Metro. You can't just open it and walk away.
00:40I'm not convinced it's a must-have as opposed to a nice-to-have at the moment.
00:44The Premier presenting his own nice-to-have today, revealing that Police Association Secretary
00:49Pat Gooley has agreed to run for Labor in the seat of Winston Hills. Currently held by the
00:54Liberals, Chris Minns thinks it's up for grabs. I think it's vulnerable for any political party,
01:02and I include One Nation in that. The Premier's predicting One Nation will be the biggest or
01:06second biggest party in Parliament after the election. Even if that prediction's off the
01:11mark, its leader Mike Newman could still be a kingmaker. Kelly Sloan says she's still hopeful
01:17of governing in her own right, but isn't ruling out a deal with One Nation. Now, if we need support
01:22for confidence and supply, we'll talk with the crossbench, but that is a future problem. I think
01:27they are willing to do a deal. We can be defeated, but it'll be as a result of a coalition
01:31between
01:31One Nation and the Liberals and whatever's left to the Nationals. The Premier says he'll rely on
01:37independence if he has to, but won't do a deal with any party to stay in power.
