00:00So on Sunday in Philadelphia, there is a really scary protest against Jewish businesses in the
00:07Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. But there's a few things here that make this especially
00:13concerning. It is scheduled for the eve of Kristallnacht, which is a Nazi night of terror.
00:20And the language also used in this protest post has been really concerning. These Zionist
00:28establishments must go show these Zion business owners that we see them for the disgusting humans
00:35they are. And what's even more crazy about this is that several of these businesses are just owned
00:43by Jewish people. We spoke to one business owner who runs a mac and cheese shop, and she said the
00:50only reason she thinks she could possibly be targeted is because she wears a Star of David
00:56necklace around her neck when she works at her shop.
01:00I was kind of like, why am I looped into this? You know, I don't have an Israeli restaurant.
01:05I haven't been targeted before. I've never brought religion or politics into my business.
01:11I've never judged any customer that's walked through my store. You know, it's just misinformation
01:16and it's really unfortunate. We don't deserve that. We go to work every day. We're really
01:21good people. We have really wonderful customers. You go to work every day trying and like the
01:27world is hard enough. And now it just seems you just have a bunch of bullies down your
01:31back for no reason. It's like if you actually got to know me or if you actually knew the truth
01:35about what you're posting about me, you wouldn't be in this position.
01:39The other chilling angle here is that the protest is set to take place on the eve of the anniversary
01:49of Kristallnacht. Kristallnacht is infamous for anyone who sort of knows their Holocaust
01:58anti-Semitism history because that is basically a Nazi terror campaign over two days, November 9 and 10, 1938,
02:11when Nazi rioters sacked Jewish communities across Germany and Austria. And this very much was a
02:20coming out of the anti-Semitic Nazi movement targeting Jews for being Jews. It led to thousands of
02:31Jewish business owners being rounded up and taken into concentration camps, taken to prison. And so
02:38all of these things combined has really made this protest rise above the level of concern for a lot
02:46of Jewish business owners. You know, at this point, like they're using the knife before
02:50a very big anniversary of a tragic event in Jewish history, in German history, in all history.
02:58You know, it's a tragic happening. And they are using words like they must go and disgusting humans.
03:07And this one just felt different. The one upside here is that there seems to be a big note of
03:15defiance
03:16in response to this protest. All of the businesses that have been named said that they are going to be
03:24open. And there have been a lot of people who've said we are going to line up and patronize these
03:31businesses. And the New York Post will be there on Sunday to tell you what happens during this really
03:38scary protest.
