00:01A 19-year-old motorcyclist was found dead in Sungai Sekakap, Mersingh on Friday morning
00:07after he was believed to have skidded off the road and fallen into the river the night

00:13The incident prompted an overnight search and rescue operation.
00:17Mersingh Fire and Rescue Station Chief Mohamad alias Husin said the department received an
00:23emergency call at 11.26pm on Thursday and mobilised 15 personnel from the Mersingh and
00:29Skudai Fire Stations.
00:31The rescue team, equipped with a light fire rescue tender, an emergency medical rescue
00:36services unit, a boat and two utility vehicles, arrived at the scene 10 minutes later.
00:44Mohamad alias said firefighters initially searched along the riverbank before requesting assistance
00:50from the water rescue team based at the Skudai Fire Station.
00:55The victim was located by the PPDA team at 7.55am on Friday, about 100 metres from where
01:03he was last seen.
01:05His body was subsequently handed over to the police before being taken to Mersingh Hospital
01:10for further action.
