In Acts 1:6-11 and Luke 24:50-53, forty days after His resurrection, Jesus led His apostles to the Mount of Olives, promised them the power of the Holy Spirit, and ascended into heaven as He blessed them. Seated at the right hand of the Father, Christ prepares a place for us and intercedes for us always. This Second Glorious Mystery of the Rosary invites us to set our hearts on heaven while witnessing to His love on earth.

Transcript
00:00For 40 days after his glorious resurrection, the risen Jesus appeared to his apostles,
00:05speaking of God's eternal kingdom. Leading his 11 faithful disciples out toward Bethany on the
00:10Mount of Olives, Jesus gave his final sacred charge. He promised them, You will receive
00:15power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you to be my witnesses. Go therefore and make disciples of
00:21all nations, boldly proclaiming the gospel to the farthest ends of the earth. Lifting his pierced
00:26hands and priestly blessing over them, Jesus spoke his parting words of unfailing divine peace.
00:31Even as he blessed them, the risen Lord was parted from them and lifted high toward the open heavens.
00:36A luminous golden cloud received him out of their sight as he ascended to the Father's heavenly
00:41throne. While the apostles gazed intently into the sky, two men clothed in dazzling white garments
00:47stood beside them. The two angels declared, This Jesus who was taken up into heaven will return in
00:52the very same way. Returning to Jerusalem with overflowing joy, the disciples praised God
00:58continually in the temple, awaiting the promised spirit.
