00:00And go and take the game to them, put them under pressure.
00:02Well, Al Nasser's title charge last season was briefly derailed by defeat in De Maam to tonight's opponents.
00:08It led to a mid-season wobble that could have cost them dearly, but they recovered and the rest is
00:13history.
00:14They've won only once.
00:15A notable meeting of two Australian head coaches as well.
00:19Arthur Pappas and Ange Postacoglu know each other well and spent two seasons.
00:25Al Atifak make just one change to the side that secured a 1-0 win at Al Fateh on Saturday.
00:31Serbian winger Matija Gluscevic returns to the starting 11 in preference to Khalid Al-Ghanam who drops to the bench.
00:39The main team news for Al Nasser is that Cristiano Ronaldo makes his first start of the season,
00:44having come off the bench to score on Friday against Al Riyad.
00:47It's one of a couple of changes with some signing from Mallorca, Samu Costa returning to midfield.
00:51Other well, they moved in the same circles in Aussie football and they did work together between 2019 and 2021
00:58in the J-League.
01:00So, superbly a year ago.
01:03They were sailing serenely along and then suddenly lost this fixture.
01:08Games in a row, suddenly they lost them, didn't they?
01:10And you thought, ooh, the wheels have come off.
01:12But they've got to attack Al Nasser tonight.
01:14That has to be the game plan.
01:19And that's exactly what they're doing here and a challenge at the last moment coming in on.
01:24It's a loose giveaway from Al Etifak which put Ronaldo in.
01:29She has got a slight bump from behind just to put him under pressure from Jack Hendry.
01:33New look from Mane.
01:34This is Medran who's been with Etifak for a little while now.
01:38Plenty of experience in the Roshan Saudi league.
01:42Trying to feed it forward.
01:44Early threat perhaps and a straightforward save in the end.
01:47Medran's a player in midfield.
01:48He's very tidy on the ball.
01:49Really skilful.
01:51Just couldn't find the corner.
01:51It was too central.
01:53Houston, Ransk Posterkoglu.
01:56Yeah, there was a different kind of intensity, wasn't there?
01:59Here comes Noach Dushal on Madala al-Olayan.
02:07Dushal loves to come galloping forward.
02:12Dushchevic.
02:16Away from two.
02:17There's a real turn of pace there.
02:19Getting the better of Dushal.
02:20It didn't quite fall for Messi.
02:22Martinez made sure of that.
02:24Here's Radiala Taibi.
02:25Good start here from Aletifak.
02:28And the shot.
02:30Only five, six minutes into a game.
02:32Why not have a go?
02:36That's good skill and pace.
02:40With Messi once more.
02:43Medran.
02:44Little exchange with Aletaybi.
02:46Lovely flick.
02:47Could be a chance.
02:48And that...
02:49Sard is posing a problem.
02:51Medran with the ball to find him.
02:53I think he was onside.
02:55I think the flag went up.
02:57But if it had went in the back of the net,
02:58the goal would have stood.
02:59Because he was onside.
03:01And that was an important touch from Bouchard.
03:03Tonight for Al-Nasser.
03:06Pass from Dushal Felix into Sadio Mane.
03:09Mane picking out Ronaldo.
03:13Well covered and smothered at the back by the home side.
03:16And it was an interesting fumble by the goalkeeper.
03:18Turkey, Benal Jals.
03:23Oh, lucky man.
03:26I'd say he wasn't that far from going into...
03:28A little bit too early there, Jal Felix.
03:30Just need to take his time away for Ronaldo or Mane's run.
03:35Handball, free kick quickly taken by Messi.
03:37Superbly as well.
03:39And the challenge by Bento on Moussa Dembele was not a clever one.
03:43And it was a straight red card.
03:47Apart from that, it's a stone wall.
03:48It's a crazy handball.
03:50Quick thinking though with the free kick.
03:52Yeah, because that would have been a yellow card for a handball.
03:53Quick free kick.
03:55It's miles onside.
03:55It's miles onside.
03:56Remember the ball was moving.
03:58So, just a couple of things just to check up from the VAR team.
04:02Apart from that, it's a stone wall.
04:04It's a crazy handball.
04:05Yeah, it's a stone wall red card from the goalkeeper's point of view though.
04:11Just denying a goal scoring opportunity.
04:13Here it is again.
04:20That's a red card every time you look at it.
04:22Now if Alakidi not quite up to speed yet.
04:24He's been on the bench.
04:25This is his first ever appearance for Al Nasser.
04:28He's going to have to come off so early in the match
04:31so that the substitute goalkeeper can go on.
04:37Madran tees it up.
04:39Even if you don't score, you might just test him and make him nervy.
04:45That was 10 players of Al Nasser.
04:54Frustrated figure of Cristiano Ronaldo there.
04:57So, so good.
05:02It's just a fraction of a second the timing was out there, wasn't it, from Bento?
05:06Yeah.
05:07But he clearly, completely misses the ball and catches Moussa Dembele.
05:11You can see his eyes are absolutely lighting up Dembele
05:13because he knows he's getting there first.
05:19Yep, decisive call from the referee.
05:28That's some run-up.
05:29I was just thinking the same.
05:32I've seen javelin throwers take a shorter run-up than that.
05:35Here's Ronaldo with a chance to break the deadlock.
05:37Flag's gone up anyway.
05:40Just coming back from an offside position.
05:43Doesn't get there, clicking off Ronaldo.
05:45So, good spot by the linesman.
05:52Ronaldo's about 60 yards away from goal.
05:56Madran whipping it in.
05:57Dangerous ball and a chance at the far...
06:01See it again, he's onside.
06:03I think diving header's the finish.
06:07All tied up at nil-nil.
06:09Mistake by Buschel.
06:10Glushchevich collects and goes for goal.
06:13Bit of a shank here.
06:16They're rattled.
06:17The champions.
06:19Rattled by the red card.
06:26Al-Riyad and it's Al-Atabi.
06:29Back into Messi who goes down.
06:31Referee says no penalty.
06:33Madran's ball in is a little long.
06:35Too far in front of Moussa Dembele.
06:37Did Martinez get the ball of the man?
06:39As the shot is...
06:41Oh!
06:41Into the back of the net.
06:45Finally breaks his duck.
06:48But it didn't look as if that was going to be a goal.
06:53And the surprise was when suddenly the net rippled.
06:58Yeah, it's hard because you don't want to be too critical of the 18-year-old goalkeeper.
07:02But it is a goalkeeper error.
07:03You know, Webber is really, really nervous.
07:11That's Duda's goal.
07:14And it is Al Etifak.
07:17Who for the second season in a row are threatening to...
07:23To stick in the front wheel of Al Nasser.
07:28Al Etifak.
07:30Yeah, 1-1 in the last five visits here in the league.
07:33And it's the first goal that...
07:39No foul.
07:41And Jean-Felix has it now.
07:43The little flick.
07:44And beyond everybody, including Rane, who is in behind Ronaldo.
07:48And he wants to try and find Ronaldo there.
07:50Jean-Felix with a clip towards a far post.
07:52But I think...
07:53Ten minutes to go to half-time.
07:56Martinez quick with a free kick into Kingsley Coman.
07:59Who finds Ronaldo.
08:02He looks to shoot on sight.
08:04Brings the save.
08:07For the turkey barrel, Josh.
08:09What a save.
08:10Because this was going in.
08:11This is a top-class save.
08:15I see Ronaldo just waiting to try and get a yard.
08:18Step over.
08:19Pretty sure that was going in.
08:21Great save.
08:22It was going in.
08:24It's a super stop from the...
08:27Sandro Costa.
08:30Looking for Mane.
08:31Bit more danger about them now.
08:33Good save to deny Jean-Felix.
08:35I really thought Jean-Felix was going to score.
08:38That's an amazing save with his left foot.
08:44Coman.
08:47Lovely play.
08:48Pass two.
08:49Pass three.
08:51Just glides and ghosts pass about three or four players with ease.
08:55Couldn't hit the target.
08:59Fantastic.
09:01Tell you what, it's not a bad game.
09:02The Al-Shabaab Al-Riyad one.
09:04It's 2-2 now.
09:05We've had four goals in the last 15 minutes.
09:07Yannick Carrasco with an equaliser.
09:10A second goal for Al-Etifak.
09:14Look how much time he had and how much ground he was able to gain.
09:17No.
09:18Goalkeeper's got to save that.
09:20Goalkeeper has to save that.
09:27A decent hit.
09:29Keeper should save it.
09:35Well, there are two poor goals from a defensive point of view.
09:40That have been conceded by the debutante there.
09:46There goes the half-time whistle.
09:49And it is a 45 minutes to forget for the champions.
09:52Al-Nasirin, big trouble in this match.
09:54Their third game of the season.
09:56Down to 10.
09:57After 12 minutes, their goalkeeper, Bento, sent off.
10:01Straight red card for denying.
10:02Cristiano Ronaldo will be the player coming off.
10:05So Al-Qaivari will add to that.
10:12Change made by Coach Tapas here.
10:15Koeman trying to steal in.
10:18Have they got a goal back?
10:20Stretching for it was Martinez.
10:21And somehow it hasn't ended up in the back of the net.
10:24Richmond though for Al-Nasir.
10:25As the 10 men try to claw their way back into this game.
10:29Kingsley Koeman now.
10:31Into now Afushal.
10:33Pressure on the home defence.
10:35It strikes Madhu.
10:36And Mane is there to score.
10:41That's good to see that this fight in Al-Nasir.
10:49Sadio Mane's first goal of the season.
10:51Nerves will be jangling somewhat for Al-Etifak.
10:54Oh absolutely.
10:55I'll put them under pressure.
10:56Even though they're winning the game 2-1.
10:57It just makes them nervy and edgy.
11:03Sharp play from now Afushal.
11:08Strikes Madhu on the arm here.
11:10Ah the goal has been ruled out.
11:14It's a tight call.
11:15Well absolutely that is the tight call.
11:19If Charles not offside.
11:22Controlling the game.
11:24Here's your graphic.
11:26Tight.
11:33That's why the goal was disallowed.
11:38Charles Felix closing in.
11:40And Tokibal Josh ends up on the deck.
11:44Until he yells at Cartner give away.
11:46Foul on the keeper.
11:50That's a daft challenge from Charles Felix.
11:55That's all they need to do isn't it.
11:56Just make them do all the running.
11:59Now Ryan Messi popping up on the near side this time.
12:03Looks for an opening.
12:04Decent shot as well.
12:06Al-Shammari across.
12:07Blocked by Abdulela Al-Amri.
12:10And cleared and...
12:16Half an hour if you're wearing a yellow shirt and you're a man down in these sort of conditions.
12:20It's Moussa Dembele trying to...
12:23There when the ball goes into his feet in the end the shot.
12:25He's got well underneath the shot blazes over the bar but he's played well.
12:30There's a free kick for Al-Nassar.
12:42It looked like a comfortable take for the keeper.
12:47Al-Shammari looking busy and purposeful.
12:53Now it's with Kingsley Coman up against Abdullah Khatib.
12:56That's an excellent ball towards Sadio Mane who's stretched for it with Jack Hendry.
13:01Strong defender team tonight.
13:03That's what Posta Coglu's thinking.
13:08Versanchelina.
13:10Kosovan's getting ready as Messi tees it up.
13:13Keeper makes the save.
13:15And there's a block by Martinez.
13:19Worked it well enough to Messi who I think was just onside.
13:23At that time it was a good save.
13:25Important block.
13:27And Madran with the initial shot now.
13:32That's a lovely ball into Al-Hamdan who's just come off the...
13:36He's a mile onside.
13:38Khatib the player that was playing him on.
13:41Just wouldn't drop for him quick enough.
13:47Jal Félix now for Al-Nassar sliding it through.
13:50Excellent ball.
13:51Here's a chance and a goal for Sadio Mane.
13:55Brilliantly worked.
13:57By two top players to potentially...
14:01Great ball this from Jal Félix in behind.
14:04Looks like he's just onside there.
14:06Sadio Mane as well.
14:08Cute finish.
14:10Jossos got in there ahead of Abdul Amadu there.
14:14Sadio Mane.
14:15Really good finish for 2-1.
14:17Second time he's had the ball in the net in the second half of course.
14:21This time it's going to count.
14:25And they've got themselves to blame Al-Etifak for not putting this game to bed.
14:32Could be an interesting...
14:34In the final quarter of an hour of the game.
14:39And now Jay gets the deflection.
14:41Al-Nassar have got a call.
14:44Jal Félix whips it into the near post.
14:47They've equalised.
14:51And once again it's the captain, Abdul El Al-Amri.
14:56What a turnaround here.
14:58Absolutely amazing.
15:00First goal on Friday in a comfortable win over Al-Riyad.
15:05And he's brought his team level here.
15:08Been a terrible performance this from Al-Etifak's point of view on how not to control a football match.
15:21What an extraordinary few minutes.
15:27He'll flick forward now.
15:29Collected by Jal Félix.
15:30Félix is still going.
15:32Upended just outside the box.
15:34Referee says no foul.
15:35Looked like a foul to me.
15:36I might be wrong.
15:40Your team's got 11 v 10 and you're winning 2-0 in the game.
15:43And now you're hanging on.
15:45Oh, that's a lovely ball from Jal Félix.
15:47Abdul El Alhamdan.
15:49He could quite pick out Sadio Mane.
15:53Who now collects, brings the save and...
15:56Passively.
16:06Here comes Sadio Mane.
16:08Alhamdan in the box.
16:10Jal Félix up there too.
16:12Mane.
16:12Lose.
16:13He's had nothing to do.
16:15The goalie.
16:16Now, here's a chance potentially to win the game for Sadio Mane, who sticks it home.
16:26Flag goes up for offside.
16:32Wow, what drama.
16:34Of course it will be checked.
16:36But Mane.
16:37Playing him onside.
16:38That's very, very tight.
16:41It was a cool, calm, drama towards the end as well.
16:46Goal.
16:47It's a goal.
16:483-2 Al Nasser.
16:50What a match.
16:51What a turnaround.
16:53It's a gold-plated comeback by the champions.
16:57Completed by Sadio Mane.
17:00And they've been down to 10 for the vast majority of the match.
17:052-0 down with just over a quarter of an hour to go.
17:09Been so poor in this second half on how not to manage the game of football.
17:15All the credit has to go to Postacoglu's men.
17:19Good eyes finish up from Mane.
17:21Just sat the goalkeeper down.
17:23Given the eyes and whipped it into the other corner.
17:27That's what you pay the big bucks for.
17:29Quality like that.
17:30They can't believe it.
17:32What a win.
17:37And Mane reacts as if it was all.
17:42There are comebacks.
17:43And then there's this comeback tonight by Al Nasser, the Saudi Arabian champions.
17:48This was something else.
17:50Down to 10 after 12 minutes.
17:52Their goalkeeper sent off.
17:54The debutant replacement conceding two goals to Al Etifak the game.
17:59But Al Etifak must be wondering how they ended up losing this match.
18:03Two up with roughly a quarter of an hour to go.
18:06But somehow the champions have prevailed.
18:09It's a gold-plated comeback for the ages in the Saudi Pro League.
18:13And it's finished on the night.
18:15Al Etifak 2, the 10 men of Al Nasser 3.
