Because of the financial crisis, professional prospects have become bleak for many Greeks. In the first half of 2011 alone, nearly 9000 Greeks immigrated to Germany - twice as many as before the crisis. Many come to Berlin. Greek opera singer Elpiniki Zervou was given a contract at the Neuk?lln Opera. She'd like to remain in Germany.
