There were fewer unemployed Britons in the period from March to May as the Olympics in London created jobs.
In a rare bit of positive news from the recession-hit British economy, the total of people without a job - using International Labour Organisation measurements - dropped by 65,000 to 2.58 million.
The ILO jobless rate stood at 8.1 percent, of the workforce.
