Over a year before the events of the first film, the Abbott family attends their son Marcus' baseball game. Mid-game, the spectators notice a flaming object in the sky hurtling towards the Earth and they leave the baseball park. Soon, the town is attacked by blind alien creatures with hypersensitive hearing.
