00:00 Do you agree with housing migrants on the porches?
00:05 Oh, this is a very emotive subject. This is for me.
00:09 Yes, I think there's a lot of homeless people in Liverpool,
00:17 a lot of cities within the UK.
00:20 And I think we have a model dilemma in a way that I wish,
00:28 you know, they wish they could go on barges.
00:30 Because I look at this present barge and I'm thinking,
00:32 wow, the tumfurt, the amity they've got,
00:35 and there's people on our streets who are homeless.
00:38 The barges, I think it's horrible.
00:41 I don't know where you should put them,
00:43 but it seems to me like it's a prison.
00:45 And I just don't think it's right.
00:48 As long as they're safe and happy,
00:50 and they can get medical treatment that they need,
00:53 especially if there's kids involved, then definitely.
00:56 But yeah, the main, as long as they're safe,
00:59 that's the main thing.
01:00 As Farrah Ngamke said, the government aren't bothering
01:03 to sort out their claims in the first place,
01:05 which is what you should be doing.
01:07 You know, these people are running away from terrible situations.
01:10 And so sort out the claims first, get them processed.
01:14 If they find out they don't have a valid claim,
01:17 you can send them back easy enough.
01:20 Housing anyone, regardless of where they're from,
01:23 in inhumane conditions, is not something that I adhere to.
01:28 No. I think the current government stands on this is shocking.
01:33 It's horrible. And as a migrant myself, I'm angry.
01:36 There's loads of empty buildings all around London.
01:41 Give them the opportunity to repair them
01:43 so that's somewhere where they could live.
01:45 There's a lot of migrants who've got skills.
01:47 So migrants built this country.
01:49 Whatever label we give on, give to them,
01:53 they have a right to safe refuge,
01:56 just as any well-meaning and generous country would expect to offer.
02:06 The vast majority of people who are coming over on, like,
02:10 boats from Calais into the British Isles, they're not doing so
02:14 because it's a nice day out.
02:16 They're doing so out of desperation.
02:18 They're looking for a better life.
02:20 But, I mean, at the moment, you know, we've got homeless people
02:23 who are living on the streets who can't even get properties
02:26 and they're giving them away to migrants.
02:28 And in my personal opinion, I don't think that's fair.
02:31 I think we could probably find better places for them.
02:35 I don't really get too far into politics and that kind of stuff
02:38 because it becomes too argumentative for me.
02:41 But, uh, she needs better than, you know, be where they were.
02:47 So, in that respect, it's a good thing.
02:49 I think barges is a particularly good idea.
02:51 I think they need to be on land and able,
02:54 because how do they get off a barge?
02:56 It's very difficult.
02:57 You're sort of confining them almost to a prison, if they're like that.
03:00 So, no, I think we need to find another way to go about it.
