00:00 But it has been a hot summer in Texas,
00:02 but finally we are looking at some
00:05 relief as we get into next week.
00:07 All of this heat and dry weather though,
00:09 is really done a number on the ground.
00:12 The drought here has really
00:14 expanded across Texas,
00:15 a large area of exceptional drought.
00:17 Now where it's been dry,
00:19 it's also been hot.
00:20 The heat is going to continue
00:22 as we go through today.
00:24 Widespread 100s across all of Texas.
00:26 There will be some thunderstorms
00:28 though eastern part of the state.
00:30 Toward Arkansas and in the western
00:32 parts of Louisiana as well.
00:34 We're going to start trimming the
00:36 temperatures a little bit over the weekend,
00:38 but the big relief will be coming
00:40 in a form of a cold front that
00:43 will be dropping South Monday,
00:44 Tuesday.
00:45 In fact,
00:45 that front will be dropping South
00:47 of the Red River by Tuesday.
00:49 This front will make its way in the South
00:52 Texas but probably not until the
00:54 middle part of the upcoming week.
00:56 Beneficial rain with this.
00:57 It's not flooding though,
00:58 unfortunately with these thunderstorms,
01:00 but we could use the rain.
01:02 Watch out temperatures drop as we go
01:04 through the upcoming weekend in Oklahoma
01:06 City by Monday year in the 70s.
01:08 Dallas,
01:08 you'll be in the lower 90s.
01:10 Further drops as we get into Tuesday,
01:12 Wednesday and there will be some
01:13 relief in South Texas by the time
01:15 we get in the midweek.
