00:00 Born in Kingston, Jamaica and moving to Birmingham at the age of nine, Leon Edwards was steered
00:07 into the sport by his mother to get away from the life of drug dealing, street fighting
00:11 and knife crime. Edwards started as a pro MMA fighter in 2011, making his UFC debut
00:18 in 2014 with a current record of 21-3. Having become the first Englishman ever to win the
00:25 UFC welterweight championship, what does he want to achieve in the future?
00:30 My aim now is to secure my family financially, I'm doing that already. And also go down to
00:36 one of the best of all time, to do it, mix martial arts of all time, especially from
00:39 the UK and just the rest of the world as well. My aim first is to get to the UFC world title,
00:44 I achieved that, now my aim is to be the best of all time.
00:47 A wonderful story on his rise to the very top, and becoming the current pound for pound
00:52 greatest in the country is not where it stops for Leon Edwards.
