Transcript
00:00 Christmas is a time of giving and one family are giving their son Charlie a very special gift.
00:07 Taking place at the St. Faith's Centre in Maidstone,
00:11 they've set up a Christmas market to raise money for his cerebral palsy operation,
00:16 which will be taking place in Poland.
00:19 People can enjoy all sorts of Christmas festival activities here,
00:23 from buying decorations to delicious Christmas treats,
00:27 all with the good knowledge that the money will be going towards helping Charlie.
00:32 Charlie and his sister Elena were both born with a condition
00:37 which severely affects motor and muscle movement.
00:40 The family are also leading the Little Charlie's Big Chance campaign,
00:45 the heart of Charlie and Elena's support.
00:48 For Charlie, the surgery will give him an opportunity to transfer safely,
00:54 which at the moment is injected because he's got severe foot pain.
00:59 We want him to keep transferring into adulthood and be as independent as possible.
01:05 And for me, it gives me hope that they have a mobile and happy and painful future.
01:13 Charlie's relatives also encourage the public to get involved.
01:17 They can come to events and donate, but also just show support.
01:22 You don't have to come and buy things, even just spread the word,
01:26 spread awareness, all of that.
01:29 Being the season for giving,
01:31 Charlie's family can't wait for him to receive the best gift he could ask for.
01:37 Henry Luck for CAME-TV in Maidstone.
