00:05 There are 450 houses that were hit by the Querto Princesa City in Palawan.
00:10 Almost 1,000 families in two barangays were affected.
00:14 The price of a house in Pinzala is estimated at P3.5 million according to the BFP.
00:19 The fire was also reported.
00:21 Electricity in Palawan is more expensive than in Metro Manila.
00:28 Last November, Palawan Electric Co-operative, or Paleko, bought a single unit and it will be raised again in March.
00:35 The Paleko Power Supply Agreement and Palawan Power Generation Inc. will pass.
00:41 Because of this, they need to buy electricity under the Emergency Power Supply Agreement without a subsidy.
00:48 That's why they asked the Congress to help them to get back the subsidy for electricity.
00:54 But the Department of Energy said that if they buy under the agreement, they will not have the right to any subsidy.
01:02 Paleko said that they were stopped by the Energy Regulatory Commission, or ERC,
01:07 for buying from their former supplier of electricity that has a subsidy.
01:11 That's why they were forced to enter into an agreement.
01:14 The ERC is trying to get the rights here.
