00:00 Today the Pakistan People's Party two day long Central Executive Committee has concluded.
00:10 Along with the elections, and I'll get to that, the current situation of the country was discussed.
00:20 The political situation was discussed. The threat to political stability was discussed.
00:30 The concerns about Pakistan reaching a crisis point was discussed.
00:38 And before I get into the details, the basic decision of the Pakistan People's Party is that we want to take Pakistan with us, we want to make Pakistan stable and we want to get it out of this crisis.
00:54 The time has come again for the Pakistan People's Party to raise the slogan of Pakistan Khate. We are still raising the slogan of Pakistan Khate and making our decisions in that way.
01:10 The reality is that the Pakistan People's Party does not have a mandate to form government, to form the federal government.
01:24 And because of that, I will not be putting myself forward for the candidacy of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
01:34 There are two other groups, the independent group and Muslim League Nawaz, that have more numbers than the Pakistan People's Party in the National Assembly.
01:54 The PTI has announced that they will not engage in a dialogue with the Pakistan People's Party, and that rules out the possibility of an independent-led government and of a PTI-led government.
02:16 That leaves us with Muslim League Nawaz, who is the only political party in the National Assembly who have reached out to the Pakistan People's Party and invited us to join their government.
02:36 The Pakistan People's Party has decided that while we are unable, not in a position to join the federal government ourselves, nor would we be interested in taking ministries in such a set-up,
03:02 we also don't want to see political chaos in the country. We don't want to see perpetual crisis in the country.
03:12 What are our options? If PTI doesn't want our votes, and if Muslim League Nawaz doesn't form a majority, and if I am not a Prime Minister candidate,
03:24 and this House fails to elect a Prime Minister, and it fails to form a government, then we will have to go back for re-elections.
03:34 And this will lead to another perpetuation of this political crisis. Political stability will not return, in fact, political instability will increase.
03:48 And the consequences of that, more so than me or you, will be faced by the people of Pakistan, who are at this moment facing not only a political crisis, but an economic crisis.
04:04 The very real threat of terrorism and the dangers of climate change.
04:11 So the Pakistan People's Party has decided that we ran this election on a manifesto. And a manifesto on issues of... Can you hear me?
04:23 A manifesto on issues of public importance, including Arawami-Muashi-Muayda, and my commitment to the people of Pakistan,
04:34 that we want to restore political stability and want to end this environment of political toxicity.
04:42 So to that end, the Pakistan People's Party will be willing to support, on an issue-to-issue basis, and in the case of important votes,
04:53 a candidate for the Prime Minister of Pakistan, to ensure that a government is formed, to ensure that political stability is restored,
05:04 and that a government can be formed that can get to the work, get to the point of doing the job of the people of Pakistan.
05:16 In that context, the Pakistan People's Party has decided that we will form a committee of members of the Pakistan People's Party
05:33 to engage with other political parties.
05:37 So to the extent that to establish the governance and political stability, the governance and political stability,
05:48 the Pakistan People's Party is forming a committee that will engage with our political parties from this point of view.
05:59 And we will try to get Pakistan out of this crisis, to take Pakistan to that limit, which is the right of the people of Pakistan.
06:16 The people of Pakistan have now participated in this election, no matter what, and now the people of Pakistan do not want any more chaos.
06:27 The people of Pakistan do not want any more political stability.
06:31 They are looking at their politicians to get the people of Pakistan out of this crisis.
06:40 In my meeting with the Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan People's Party, the people of my party raised many objections and issues.
06:51 To the extent that we have been in government with the Muslim League for 18 months,
07:03 and the people of my party, who have a special relationship with Punjab, and all the provinces, complained that their work has not been done,
07:16 that their issues have not been resolved, it is important to build confidence that our committee,
07:23 which is going to be formed to talk to the Muslim League, Noon and other political parties,
07:28 that in that conversation, where we talk about the governance, we ensure that the objections of the Pakistan People's Party are removed.
