00:07 What's up? Paul here from Guitar World, and today we're gonna be checking out a compact,
00:10 travel-friendly, carbon fiber guitar from Donner that's a real standout.
00:15 The Donner Rising G Pro.
00:17 Let's check it out.

00:27 Donner's Rising Series is a brand new line of instruments made by Donner using
00:32 innovative materials, including the Rising G guitar and
00:35 the Rising U ukulele and Rising V violin.
00:39 In case you haven't noticed,
00:39 carbon fiber instruments have become increasingly prevalent and popular lately.
00:44 And after spending some time with this Donner Rising G Pro carbon fiber guitar,
00:48 it does possess excellent stability and a comfortable playing field.
00:52 The allure of carbon fiber guitars is simple.
00:55 They're easy to maintain because of their rigidity and durability.
00:58 And they also retain stability because they are generally immune to humidity or
01:03 temperature changes.
01:04 So what you have is a guitar that stays pretty much consistent in playability.

01:16 What makes the guitar unique is Donner's proprietary A-type bracing that mimics
01:20 the sound of an acoustic guitar.
01:22 The Rising G Pro's sound, when combined with its cutting edge barrel design,
01:26 provide a layered fullness and higher resonance similar to the physical
01:30 properties of a traditional acoustic guitar that are made from tonguewoods.
01:34 [MUSIC]
01:38 In addition, its sound hole design at the upper bout allows you to hear the guitar
01:42 more clearly.
01:43 Now keep in mind, the guitar does not come with electronics yet, but
01:47 you now have the option to replace a good mic to capture its sound or
01:51 include your choice of electronics for it.
01:53 [MUSIC]
02:03 Other notable features include a three-piece neck design with an HPL, or
02:08 otherwise known as high pressure laminate fretboard, with rounded frets for
02:12 continued comfort for long playing hours, and
02:15 elixir strings that provide continued tonal life to its sound.
02:19 And of course, having a carbon fiber guitar saves you time and
02:22 money that you don't need to spend on maintenance and adjustments.
02:25 [MUSIC]
02:28 What's also cool is the guitar comes with a travel-ready gig bag and
02:32 accessories pack that includes a tuner, capo, truss rod adjustment wrench,
02:36 picks, and strap.
02:37 [MUSIC]
02:42 As a mid-range priced acoustic guitar, the Donner Rising G Pro is a worthy choice
02:46 that's comparable to a lot of other travel-friendly and smaller sized acoustics.
02:51 What's even better, with its surprisingly fuller sound and brighter tone,
02:55 as a compact acoustic, you also get all the benefits of its carbon fiber construction.
02:59 [MUSIC]
03:04 The Rising G Pro is practically impervious to cracking or
03:07 warping because of temperature and humidity changes,
03:10 making it an ideal guitar to take anywhere with you,
03:13 whether it's cross country or on a plane.
03:15 But if that's not enough, you'll totally dig its lightweight and easy playability.
03:19 Definitely check it out.
