00:00It's just over three weeks ago now that Kensington Palace Gardens, which is a private road run
00:05by the Crown Estate, was closed to pedestrians and cyclists. Thousands of local residents
00:11and tourists from all around the world used that road and we thought it was an arbitrary
00:15decision which didn't take account of the local community's use of the road, so we've
00:21been campaigning since then to have it reopened.
00:25And what's the update today?
00:27What they've told us is that they have some kind of safety concerns to do with cyclists,
00:31that they'll be installing some sort of measures, we don't know exactly what they are, it could
00:36be bollards, and that they'll soon reopen. What I've been saying to the Crown Estate
00:40is while you're doing this safety assessment, open the road anyway, at least to pedestrians,
00:46because if it is an issue on the road, they could actually get this planning done and
00:50then figure out a plan to install it. And it seems to me totally nonsensical that the
00:55road is still closed and we still have no date for when it's going to reopen.
