00:00The link between taking better care of the environment and having a better understanding of the environment came into focus at the Scientific Collaboration for Environmental Resilience Seminar on Tuesday.
00:15We hope that with the experience we accumulate in China, we can work together with our colleagues in China and Beigel, both in the academic sphere and also in the industry.
00:28The seminar was put on by the Faculty of Science and Technology at UWE St. Augustine, the Chinese Embassy and the University of Science and Technology of China.
00:39Environment monitoring was among the main topics discussed.
00:43It's clear that environmental governance requires a balance, hence the need for some degree of policy tolerance.
00:51And there are lessons to be learned from what's being done in China, including waste management processes.
00:58We heard, for example, of the presence of trace metals in waste and efforts to recover those metals because there's value in that as well.
01:11Organizers say the seminar is an important step towards developing global partnerships to tackle environmental challenges.
